COWBOYS 2-1 (wins-losses)
Sunday, October 2nd
Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers (home team is second)
3:25 PM CST on FOX
We defeated the Chicago Bears last in Week 3, 31-17.
Dak Prescott keeps getting better and better. 19 of 24 pass completions for 248 yards with a Passer QB Rating of 123.6 in last weeks game. To put that into perspective, Trevor Siemian in Denver has a 132.1 rating from LW (last week) and Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay has a 129.3. What is my point? These rookie QB's (or at least who didn't start in an NFL game last year) are doing just as well as veteran QB's in the league.
It's fun to watch! But very confusing for Fantasy Football. For the first time in my life I had to take an Eagles player, Carson Wentz. I needed a backup QB with bye weeks. The struggle is real. Here's the QB "Start 'Em, Sit 'Em" from NFL.com.
Ezekiel Elliott is getting better as well, he had his first 100+ yard game. 30 carries for 140 yards.
This Weeks Matchup...
The San Francisco 49ers. 1-2, their only win came at home in Week 1 vs. the Rams.
If you're older than the age of 30, you may remember that this used to be a pretty big rivalry. In 1992-1994, we played them in the NFC Championship Game to decide who would go to the Super Bowl. Clearly we won in 1992 and 1993, because we won the Super Bowl both years. Yes, the Dallas Cowboys have won Super Bowls for all of you Millennial's out there. The Cowboys and 49ers both have 5 Super Bowl Titles.
2016... not necessarily the same scenario.
The 49ers won big in Week 1, then lost big in Weeks 2 and 3.
Blaine Gabbert is their QB. He has thrown 3 interceptions and 3 touchdowns this season. Not the stats you want, but he's doing the best he can with this Offensive Line.
Carlos Hyde, their RB. He's rushed for 225 yards on 58 carries. Average of 3.9 yards per carry.
We know our Dallas Offense is able to put points on the board. This Offensive Line is the best situation Dak Prescott could have walked into with any team in the NFL. Same for Elliott.
Dez Bryant is out this week. I'm sure you heard the drama about him avoiding the MRI to tell him he has a hairline fracture in his right knee. Honestly, we can win without him. His stats haven't been that impressive, but the presence he provides on the field and the distraction he is to the Defense... that is irreplaceable. No one will double-team Cole Beasley or Terrance Williams. The 49ers D may double-team Jason Witten (our TE - Tight End), but he can break through that.
If our Offense can find a way to move the ball, without Dez on the field. Our Defense can confuse Gabbert and Hyde. I know they're playing in San Fran, but I'm not too worried. We will win. 24-17
Noteworthy Injuries:
~ Orlando Scandrick (CB - cornerback - defense)
~ Tyron Smith (OT - offensive tackle)
~ Tony Romo (our QB)
~ Dez Bryant (WR)

2nd in MLB (7 games behind Chicago Cubs)
The Rangers won Friday night with Yu Darvish on the mound. He had 12 K's (K = strikeout). Beltre and Odor hit home runs in the 3-1 win.
We NOW have clinched Home Field Advantage throughout the playoffs. I stated that we did last week, but I guess that was me being hopeful? And look, it came true!
We have won 53 games at home! Only lost 27. Not bad odds going into the playoffs with Home Field Advantage.
What does Home Field Advantage Mean in baseball?
This is what it means...
ALDS (American League Division Series) - Oct 6th - Oct 12th
5 games
Games 1 & 2 at HOME (Texas)
Games 3 & 4* at VISITOR (Whichever team wins the AL Wild Card)
Game 5* at HOME (Texas)
*First team to win 3 games wins the series
ALCS (American League Championship Series) - Oct 14th - Oct 22nd
7 games
Games 1 & 2 at HOME (Texas)
Games 3 & 4 at VISITOR (winner of Red Sox vs. Indians)
Game 5* at HOME (Texas)
Game 6* at VISITOR (winner of Red Sox vs. Indians)
Game 7* at HOME (Texas)
*First team to win 4 games wins the series
WS (World Series) - Oct 25th - Nov 2nd
7 games
Game 1 & 2 at HOME (Texas)
Games 3, 4, 5* at VISITOR (winner of NLCS - most likely Chicago Cubs)
Game 6* & 7* at HOME (Texas)
*First team to win 4 games wins the series
Jeff Banister is in a tough spot as the Rangers head into their last regular season game on Sunday.
He has to cut the roster down for the Playoffs. Not only are all of the guys on our roster playing well and showing Banister their best stuff... Shin-Soo Choo is back in action and making his case for the postseason. I do not envy times like these. I would not know who to sit or who to play.
Colby Lewis is on the mound Saturday night. Not looking so good, but he is undefeated for the Rangers Postseason in 2010 and 2011. Maybe he needs the pressure to pitch his best stuff?
I think that Carlos Gomez should stay lead-off in our batting order. Who knew, huh? I bet the Astros are scratching their heads right now! Or wishing that they had Adrian Beltre, who seems to make every player better when they get to this ball club! And he's hilarious! He distracts the 2nd baseman or short stop almost every game with some random, playful action! Here he is playing patty cake.
KEEP HAVING FUN FELLAS! I love watching this team play!

Sunday is the final day of the RYDER CUP!!!
Please tell me you watch golf?
Do you at least play? Or try to play?
This is the Olympics of Golf. And is the reason why many golfers actually chose not to play in the actual Olympics this year in Rio. They were saving their energy for the Ryder Cup.
Every two years, this event occurs. It alternates between the US and Europe as to its location.
This year it is in Minnesota. My friend Becca went with her Dad, crossing it off their bucket list. I'll have her write a story about her experience. I'm not sure it replaces The Masters on my bucket list, but they should just be one right after the other.
The highlights on Twitter are the best! Follow here @rydercup
The US currently leads EU 9 1/2 points to 6 1/2 points. We need 5 more points to win the whole thing, which we haven't done since 2008.
If our first five players can win their match, game over!!! We win!!! :)
USA ~ USA ~ USA
Patrick Reed vs. Rory McIlory
Jordan Spieth vs. Henerik Stenson
J.B. Holmes vs. Thomas Pieters
Rickie Fowler vs. Justin Rose
Jimmy Walker vs. Rafa Cabrera Bello
If you missed Tennessee vs. Georgia in College Football... watch this!
And yes, the Mavs have started pre-season basketball. Harrison Barnes played for 18 minutes and had 12 points. More to come...
Hug someone!
~smile~
