Over-reaction Monday Week 17 (Cowboys Eulogy) ~ MAVS ~ Rangers

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas lost. Their final game of the season. To the worst team (rep-wise) in the NFL. On turnovers.  Turnovers, you say, hummm, yes - I've mentioned this term before. It is when the Dallas Cowboys running back doesn't protect the football and it hits the opposing player's helmet, becomes a loose ball and is now in their possession. Or, when Jason Witten, your star Tight End, who had many great plays in this game and his career, doesn't get in front of the defender and allows him to "intercept" the ball. The Ea#les scored 10 points on each of these events. Therefore, causing the game to give me a minor-heart attack. I won't even use the refs as a crutch... We lost 24-22. I think we saw this coming.  Dallas Cowboys Eulogy...  When the Greeks died ( way back in the day ), they asked one thing... "Did a Man have Passion?" ( I actually don't really know that, but they quote it on the movie Serendipity and I love this line - ha

GO COWBOYS!!! Week 17 Matchup: Ph#lad@lphia E@gles vs Dallas Cowboys  ( it's in Dallas - they're the second team listed )  Sunday, December 29 - 7:30 PM (this the last game of the Regular Season) All I want for Christmas is Kyle Orton ? No, Jon Kitna ? No wait, pretty sure I didn't wish for a back-up QB!  ~ Tony Romo, our QB, is injured. He had back surgery before the season, our coaches and staff made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. I beg to differ now that we're facing an elimination game without our starting QB. Who are our two options for back-up QB's, the dudes I mentioned above. Both are veterans and can get the job done, and who knows, maybe our coaches will run the ball more since they aren't as comfortable with these buys behind center. ( "Behind Center" - where the QB stands, he takes the ball from the lineman in the Center of the formation ).  ~ I was telling a friend the other day that I wish we had already drafted a younger QB

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas Wins! ( What? Yes! You read that correctly ) C h r i s t m a s came early this year for the Boys and their fans! ( that's us ) "All Day, baby, All Day!" That's pretty much what Pierre Garcon , Washington's WR, was saying to our Dallas Defense! Just a little friendly trash talk... He had 11 receptions for 144 yards and 1 TD. But it wasn't enough to beat the Cowboys. ( as we all held or breath, something we're growing accustomed to ) ~ Tony Romo, our QB, put it all on the line! And our O-Line helped him do that! They blocked the Washington Defense better today than they've done all year, buying Romo more time to scramble "in the pocket" and find an open man. ( "in the pocket" this is the cute, imaginary circle where the QB dances around behind the line of scrimmage and the big dudes blocking for him ). Romo was 17-27, with 226 passing yards, 2 TD's and 1 INT ( interception ). I've succumbed to the f

GO COWBOYS!!! Week 16 Matchup: Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins  ( it's in D.C. - they're the second team listed ) Sunday, December 22 - NOON Who's the team in the NFL who lost their last two games to back-up Quarterbacks?  Who's the team in the NFL with the worst Defense against the Passing game and the 28th worst Defense against the Running game?  Who's the team in the NFL who is ranked 23rd in Rushing Yards, not because they can't, but because they choose not to?  Who's the team in the NFL whose Owner is more concerned with Victoria's Secret sales in the Stadium than winning football games?  As long as Jerry makes money and people pay to go to the games, things will always be the way they are. If he isn't embarrassed yet, after the past 10 years, he will never stop doing what he does. There are many Owners in the history of sports that are known for an array of legacies. Our owner is simply a great marketer. He sells his team in pi

GO COWBOYS!!! We got beat very badly by the Green Bay Packers. Gave up a 23 point lead, to lose as only the Dallas Cowboys can do! I have no words. Coaching? A Joke. Offense? A Joke. Defense? A Joke. Why our Owner/GM thinks he can take nobody's and make them into great players and coaches is beyond me. He's not the powerful Oz! He's certainly NOT God ( we know He would pick the underdog ). So it may be noble what Jones has tried to do, but it's not working. Not if we want to win. I'm all for encouragement, believing in people and so on, but I also like to win. Especially when you have guys playing hard and you can't even run the ball !!! How is that so hard?  Dez Bryant had one amazing catch for a TD. Jason Witten had a TD and an amazing catch up the middle. Dan Bailey was 5 of 5, perfect. Wasted.  Green Bay stole this game! Props to them! They are in position to make a playoff run when they're QB is healthy. Best of luck fellas! Flynn (their backup Q

GO COWBOYS!!! Week 15 Matchup: Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys ( it's in Dallas - they're the second team listed ) Sunday, December 15 - 3:25 PM After last week's loss to the Bears, it's hard to give you motivating stats for our matchup this week agains the Green Bay Packers. But, I will try...  The last time the Packers played in Cowboys Stadium was when they won the Super Bowl in 2011, come to think of it - it iced then too!  ~ Green Bay's QB situation. Aaron Rodgers is their starting QB, he has a broken collar bone that isn't fully healed. This is good news for us - sad news for him - but he's healing and okay. Since Rodgers has been out, the Packers record is 4-1 and a Tie! That is 4 losses, 1 Win and 1 Tie... ( if you didn't know you could tie in football, you can! Much more common in Hockey and Soccer, but it is possible. ) Matt Flynn is their back-up QB. He's not terrible, and he's finally getting a bit more in sync with his W

GO COWBOYS!!! Week 14 Matchup: Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears... Who Won? Da Bears! BIG! 28-45 No one was hibernating tonight at Soldier Field. The Bears came to play in some frigid temperatures! 7 degrees... feels like -4... dagger!  ~ McCown (Chicago's back-up QB) - after tonight - I'm more afraid of him then most active QB's in the league. He has lethal weapons in Brandon Marshall (WR), Alshon Jeffery (WR) and Matt Forte (RB). They scored on EVERY possession! (except an onside kick) 5 TD's!! They played so well - they were cocky enough to go for two points instead of going for the extra point after their TD at 33 pts. That is bold. In your face to the Cowboys Defense. Wow. This one hurts.  ~ Dallas. Our Offense had a run game going in the beginning. Chicago is horrible against the run, but we didn't even maximize on it! DeMarco Murray (our RB) had 145 yards and no TD's . Romo threw for 3 TD's to 3 different receivers! That's a cool stat... if

GO COWBOYS!!! Week 14 Matchup: Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears  (at Chicago, since they're the second team listed)   Monday Night Football !!! 7:30 PM on December 9th!  Monday Night Football... otherwise know as MNF! Have you ever watched MNF? Willingly or reluctantly? You should know it's typically an honor to play on MNF! TV broadcasters hope that by your team playing on MNF they will draw a lot of viewers and be entertaining! I won't bore you with the history of it, but you can  read more about it!  The one thing you should know about is C'Mon Man...  this is one of my favorite C'Mon Man clips ever!!  You need to tune into MNF around 7 PM to make sure you see C'Mon Man!  Okay, so now that you know what Monday Night Football is... here's the game info you can spout off to sound cool! :)  ~ We have a better kicker than Chicago. That's it. Done. Our entire game rests on the foot of Dan Bailey. Maybe I'm exaggerating, their kicker, Robbie
