Over-reaction Monday Week 3 - Jordan Spieth

GO COWBOYS!!! 2-1  (wins - losses) Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys We lost. Badly.  But, we started off great!  1st Half ( 1st & 2nd Qtr Combined) - We scored 28 points.  - J oseph Randle had 14 carries for 87 yards and 3 Touchdowns. - Darren McFadden scored one TD.  - Brandon Weeden was 13/14 for complete passes in the 1st half of the game for 164 passing yards. He only threw 1 interception, which was expected for his first game starting.  - Our Defense was making plays, Church and Carr were all over Julio Jones ( their #1 wide receiver ).  Sean Lee had one sack on Matt Ryan and we were able to hold Freeman ( their running back ) to just 2 TD's in the first half.  2nd Half (3rd & 4th Qtr Combined) - We did NOT score any points.  - I am pretty sure our Coaching staff decided to treat this like a pre-season game. At least, that is what it felt like. Perplexed. Yes.  Why didn't Randle stay in the game? Yes, Lance Dunbar came in and had 100 y

Week 3: Falcons vs. Cowboys ~ Rangers Win Streak ~ New York City

GO COWBOYS!!! 2-0  (wins - losses) Sunday, September 27th Atlanta Falcons vs. Dallas Cowboys  (home team is second) 12:00 PM CST Both teams are 2-0 going into this weeks matchup.  The Atlanta Falcons are lead by their QB, Matt Ryan, aka: Matty Ice .  He earned this nickname because of his late game come-backs... similar to our Tony Romo. ( who we will play without for the next 8 weeks, minimum ).  The Falcons are also without two of their main players, WR, Devin Hester and RB, Tevin Coleman. This gives our Defense a slight advantage, but not sure it's enough.  The Falcons have averaged 300 yards passing and 80 yards rushing, this season. The advantage for the Cowboys is... the Falcons Defense has allowed 314 passing yards and 22 points per game. If we still had Romo and Dez, we'd be all over this... but... here is your new starting line-up.  Dallas Cowboys starting line-up this week : Romo . Out.  Dez . Out.  Gregory . Out.  Mincey . Out.  Witten .

Over-reaction Monday Week 2 ~ Texas Rangers ~ Subway Series, Matt Harvey

GO COWBOYS!!! 2-0  (wins - losses) Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles  - We won!!! Y'all. Everyone is injured. Yes, we won, but it was still as chaotic as it was against the Giants in Week 1.  Injuries... to our Starters...  Quarterback - Tony Romo is out with a collarbone fracture. For probably 8 weeks. He doesn't need surgery, which is a good thing!! He had this same injury in 2010, caused by the Giants. So, he needs to be a little more careful vs. the Eagles and Giants.  Tight End - Jason Witten is probable for this week with two ankle sprains and a sprained knee. He has proven he is one of the toughest guys ... EVER. He will most likely play through the pain, but if he wants to take a rest vs. the Atlanta Falcons this week, I'm okay with that.  Wide Receiver  -  Dez Bryant has a broken bone in his foot . He had surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks. If we go 6 weeks, the Cowboys have a BYE Week in Week 6, so technically, he's only missing 5 gam

Week 2: Cowboys vs. Eagles ~ Rangers SWEEP the Astros ~ Vacation

GO COWBOYS!!! 1-0  (wins - losses) Sunday, September 20th Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles  (home team is second) 3:25 PM CST Cowboys quick hits...  We got a bit lucky last week.  ~ There were a few calls by the refs that the NFL stated were incorrect and favored the Cowboys; including a play that set up a Cowboys touchdown.  ~ Romo scored the winning TD to Witten... his go to guy... in less than a minute and a half, with no Dez and no DeMarco!  What will we do to the Eagles? The EXACT SAME THING!! But, hopefully with a better game plan! The first week is always a bit rusty. Work out the kinks and get back to it this week!  WR's - You'll see a lot more Cole Beasley, Terrance Williams and Jason Witten with Dez out. We obtained Brice Butler, WR, from the Oakland Athletics, same place we got Darren McFadden from. He is to replace Dez, for the next 6 weeks. He may be slotted in a few plays this week, but won't be fully up to speed until Week 3 vs. t

Over-reaction Monday Week 1 ~ Astros vs Rangers ~ MNF

GO COWBOYS!!! 1-0 (wins - losses) New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys  - We won!!! Y'all. That game wore me out. I'm a female. I'm already emotional. I can't handle too many games like that. Sheesh!  So, if you missed the game... the Cowboys played poorly. We dominated, time-wise in the first quarter, but only came up with 3-points ( from a Field Goal, you get 3 points if you make a Field Goal ).  Then we had a few turnovers ( where we graciously give the ball to the other team, unwillingly ), 4 to be exact. One of those turned into a TD for the Giants when Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie scored on Cole Beasley's fumble in the 2nd Qtr. Painful. But, we don't give up!  The 3rd Qtr was messy and let's be honest... the whole game was messy... But... WE WON ! All of the players said that Romo was on the sideline, watching Eli lead his team down the field ( with the clock mess-up, running and not scoring, throwing away an incomplete pass to stop the

Week 1: Giants vs. Cowboys ~ Rangers win big on 9/11 ~ Fireworks

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys first Regular Season Game...  Sunday, September 13th New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys (home team is second) 7:30 PM CST Finally!!! It's GAME TIME!!!! Tomorrow night!  My food suggestion of the week . .. stop by On The Border  restaurant, purchase a quart of their salsa and their big bag of chips ( it's literally a clear trash bag ), for less than $7 ( chips come with the quart of salsa ). It's fresh and 100 times better than any store-bought salsa!  The weather has dropped in Texas to the high 80's. Perfect weather to kick off Fall! ( Yes, we'd take 70's, but we're happy with anything other than 107 right now ).  The Cowboys...  Read this. Almost all of our starters are HEALTHY!!!  Tony Romo , our QB, didn't have back surgery this off-season and Sean Lee is back on Defense!  Orlando Scandrick  is out for the season with an ACL and MCL tear, so Brandon Carr, Morris Claiborne and Byron Jones need to step it u

Fantasy Football

Fantasy Football The Countdown begins...  TONIGHT!!  September 10th, 7:30 PM (CST) Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New England Patriots How to play Fantasy Football... for Non-Fantasy Football Players... ( yes, that's a real group of people ) Step 1 - Join a League, ESPN FANTASY , YAHOO FANTASY Step 2 - Draft, phone a friend, let the computer draft for you, etc. Step 3 - Remember when games are, so you don't forget to set your team Step 4 - Setting your Roster each week... this is where it gets tricky...  Injuries... depending on which site you're playing on... the players will have a Q, P or O next to their name. This is a good time to click on the little, yellow note icon next to the players name and see what his injury is. Remember, GM's and Head Coaches do NOT care about Fantasy Football and will announce injury updates as it benefits them the most! aka... keeping a players status under wraps until game-time... which is a surprise to the opponent.
