GO COWBOYS!!! 11-4 WEEK 17 - Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Redskins (remember, the second team is at HOME) Game Time: Sunday, December 28th @ 12:00 PM (CST)  We play the Washington Redskins this week, in D.C.  THIS IS THE LAST WEEK OF REGULAR SEASON FOOTBALL. tears.   Pros :  1. The Cowboys are 7-0 on the road, and this game is on the road. 2. So far, ownership plans to play our starters ( at least for the first half of the game ).  3. We've already made the Playoffs, and this game only helps us get a BYE in the first round ( if we win ).  Cons :  1. The Redskins rained on our parade back in October and beat us 20-17 in OT ( over-time ), so... they know how to beat us.  2. They have a QB complex with RGIII and Colt McCoy , which may prove to be a bit of a challenge for our D. They will most likely play RGIII, but McCoy is the guy who beat us earlier in the season with 299 passing yards. 3. Do we even want to win and get the BYE? ( not that a bye is even a gua

GO COWBOYS!!! 10-4 WEEK 16 - Indianapolis Colts vs Dallas Cowboys (remember, the second team is at HOME) Game Time: Sunday, December 21st @ 3:25 PM (CST)  I called it last week... we are solely FIRST in the NFC EAST!!! We beat the Eagles in Philly. Nothing makes me happier!! :)  Your Dallas Cowboys are now 7-0 on the road ( any game not played at home is "on the road" - just making sure we're on the same page here ). Our home game record is 3-4. This game is our LAST regular season home game of the season.  The Colts are also 10-4 this season. They've already clinched the the AFC South Title when they beat Houston last week. They've made the playoffs and are working their way into a bye week situation. Andrew Luck , QB from Stanford , took over in Indy for Peyton Manning three years ago. Most everyone in the NFL and outside the NFL agrees, this dude is very smart. He seems just as disciplined and strategic as Peyton was in Indy, which is very unlike

GO COWBOYS!!! 9-4 WEEK 15 - Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles (remember, the second team is at HOME) Game Time: Sunday, December 14th @ 7:30 PM (CST)  Good News : We are FIRST in the NFC East!! (well tied with the Eagles, but I'm not counting that) Bad News : We play the Philadelphia Eagles this week. If you've ever read this blog before, you know my sentiments for the Eagles. Not good.  They got the best of us on Thanksgiving Day. I will not repeat the score, but we all know how horrible it felt and how much it almost ruined our beautifully crafted meals that day.  Positive note : the Seattle Seahawks beat the Eagles last week. The Cowboys beat the Seahawks on the road (in Seattle). So, we're going on the road this week, to Philly, which means, we can beat Philly ! :)  The Dallas Cowboys are 6-0 on the road this season. Not saying anything against Jerry World, but home field advantage isn't our thing this year! ( Maybe because season ticket holders

GO COWBOYS!!! 8-4 WEEK 14 - Dallas Cowboys vs Chicago Bears (remember, the second team is at HOME) Game Time: Thursday, December 4th @ 7:25 PM (CST)  I know what you're thinking... Peter Pan is live on TV that night . You are right!! That is what DVR is for. We do not DVR live sports, so you're going to have to venture to Neverland on Friday night. Channel your inner Peter Pan and never grow up!! Life is far too short to be a boring adult or a Pirate.  Should we recap the game last week? Where we lost to the dreaded Eagles? It was terrible. Like the way Charles Barkley says " turrible ." Our Defense stunk. Our Offense stunk. Philly was ranked 30th in the league against the run and for some reason, we didn't use Murray for more than 73 yards. On to this week. Week 14. GO COWBOYS!!! 8-3 WEEK 13 - Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys (remember, the second team is at HOME) Game Time: Turkey Day, November 27 3:30 PM (CST)  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! This is the week where we give thanks for many things... and it's the first time, in my adult life, that I can give thanks for the Dallas Cowboys being 8-3!!!  The game last week, against the New York Giants, was amazing!! Had a stellar performance from our Offensive Line! Tony Romo played great and looked healthier since the hit he took 4 weeks ago. Murray got the job done on the ground, with a little help from Dunbar, and Cole Beasley scored a TD. Dez was Dez, the Jay Z stuff is weird, but whatever, he's a beast on the field.  And please tell me you all saw the most athletic catch you'll ever see in your life?!?! GO COWBOYS!!! 7-3 WEEK 12 - Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants (remember, the second team is at HOME) Game Time: Sunday, November 23 7:30 PM (CST)  Stats for the Dallas Cowboys after 10 weeks of football :  ~ 17th in Overall Passing Yards ( when the QB throws and a dude catches it ) ~ 2nd in Overall Rushing Yards ( thank you DeMarco Murray, Randal and Dunbar ) ~ 14th Ranked Defense against the passing game ~ 13th Ranked Defense against the run game So, we're playing the New York Giants this week in NYC! We played them in Week 7 this year and won 31-21. That game was in Dallas and the Giants have had a lot of injuries to players throughout this season. Dallas has too, and after our BYE week last week, most of our guys are back and healthy.  I know most of you really only care if Tony Romo is healthy , and he is as good as he's going to be with 6 weeks of ball left to play. He says he's fine and can keep playing, so lets just pray nothing serious happens to h

GO COWBOYS!!! 7-3 WEEK 11 - BYE WEEK - NO FOOTBALL THIS SUNDAY FOR THE DALLAS COWBOYS (this means you don't have to rush home on Sunday - you can go shopping - clean the house - start decorating for Christmas... yes, I said it, on November 13th)  Every team in the NFL gets one week off. So, the season is actually 17 weeks long, but each team only plays 16 games. This gives teams time to heal, regroup and game plan. Luck for us, our BYE week came when our QB has two fractures in his back and could use a little R&R!  Can we just take a moment and celebrate??  The Dallas Cowboys haven't been 7-3 (a winning record) since 2011. That may not seem too long ago, but we didn't make the playoffs that year and had a dismal back-half of a season.  Will that happen this year? The NFL has been trying to get more publicity in England since 2007. There are four regular season NFL games this year in London's Wembley Stadium , which is the largest in the UK. This stadium was designed for football, or shall I say, f útbol. We all know soccer is "football" in an International context... it's only us Americans who are obsessed with pigskin.  Do you know what pork rinds are? GO COWBOYS!!! 6-2 WEEK 9 - Arizona Cardinals vs Dallas Cowboys (remember, the second team is at HOME) Game Time: Sunday, November 2 12:00 PM (CST)   Quick Hits for tomorrow's game...  ~ Tony Romo ( our QB ) has two fractures in his back. They are not "structural fractures," so they will not cause permanent nerve damage. However, they are painful fractures. Let's just be honest, if 99% of us were told we had fractures in our back, we would stay home from work, eat grilled cheese sandwiches with ranch and snickers all day, while having our parents or spouse take care of us. As we all know, Romo has been extremely consistent with playing through pain, and is flat out tougher than we are. He has had bruised or fractured ribs multiple times, two back surgeries, and I'm sure countless injuries we will never know of. His toughness has never been doubted. I hope Brandon Weeden ( our back-up QB ) plays this week, so Romo has at least one week to heal and get b
