COWBOYS 3-1 (wins-losses)
Sunday, October 9th
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Dallas Cowboys (home team is second)
3:25 PM CST on CBS
We beat the San Francisco 49ers in last week, 24-17.
Are the 49ers good? No. But every team has injuries now, so it's a matter of who can play up to the potential they still have on the field.
Can I just say, Dak Prescott is doing an outstanding job!! He's poised in the pocket. Only runs when he has to. Completed 23-32 passes for 245 yards and 2 TD's (touchdowns). His two passing TD's went to Terrance Williams and Brice Butler. Nope, not Dez Bryant. Not Jason Witten. Not Cole Beasley. He is getting the ball to any open man.
The speculation has already started that when Tony Romo is healthy enough to play in November, that his starting position may not be available because Dak is playing so well. But, if you're paying attention on the sidelines, Tony is right next to Dak the whole time giving him tips and helping him through the games.
Is Dak going out and doing the work? YES! Is he putting in the extra hours to study film on teams he's never played before? YES! Does he have an advantage because he is a rookie and aside from college film, most NFL teams don't really know how to prepare for him in person like they do Romo or any guy who's been in the league for years? YES!
Also, he has one of the best, if not, THE BEST Offensive Line to work with. Even with La'el Collins having season ending toe surgery. He will be replaced by Ronald Leary... good thing we didn't trade the guy back in August... but our Offense is still a great line to learn behind/under.
Not only is Dak benefiting from our O-Line (offensive line)... but so is Elliott. That dude rushed for 136 yards and one TD (touchdown) in last weeks win. He leads the league in rushing yards, 412 to be exact.
A Balanced Offense. A well oiled machine.
Do we have a defense? What??? DO WE HAVE A DEFENSE???
No one predicted our D would do as well as they have! Except for Rod Marinelli, the Cowboys Defensive Coordinator.
We have 234 tackles, 6 sacks, 3 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. Life changing? No, we're still ranked 18th in a league of 32 teams. However, with our defense hanging in there, we are able to give our offense rest when they need it.
Shoutout... Morris Claiborne has done an outstanding job getting pressure on the Wide Receiver corps of all opposing teams. He has 16 sacks and 1 interception. Sean Lee still leads our Defense with 21 tackles, but Claiborne had a great game against the 49ers.
More to come on our match up vs. the Cincinnati Bengals.

It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.
Dang it.
I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field.
And Jose Bautista is a punk.
No one needs your bat flippin' drama!
And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch.
All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?
How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period.
Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto.
No, "they" don't care about your work schedule or anything but their TV ratings.
I too will be at work. My mom and dad will be representing for our family on Thursday and it will be my Mom's first playoff game!! This makes me happy!!
Plus I don't know if I can handle it. I need them to get to the ALCS, then I can deal with a game in person. I'm nervous just typing this.
Postseason, or Regular Season Etiquette...
1. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT, do the wave. If you are that bored, you can stay home. If someone gave you tickets and you'd rather be watching Dancing with the Stars, please give your ticket to me or anyone else in the metroplex. We will gladly attend and cheer on the Rangers. The Wave is not encouraging to the players. It shows you are no longer interested in the chess match that is happening on the field. The art of baseball. Appreciate it, or at least try to.
2. DO NOT, walk to your seat or leave you seat while a batter is up to bat. For either team. It is so rude when people walk to their seats while a batter is in the middle of his at bat. Many times, we've had people get up and make us stand or block our view of pitches and miss a home run hit, a strike out, anything spectacular and much more related to what we paid to see. Not someone walking by with their nachos. DO, wait until the batters at bat is over, then go quickly to your seat. No problems there... we're glad to have you back in your seats. Go Rangers!
3. DO NOT talk about non-baseball related events the entire game. Is it fun to "catch up" with your friends at a baseball game? Sure, in April. This is October Baseball. Go to On The Border after and chit chat. During the game, we need you to chant, cheer, yell, and support the team. You are the 10th man. Ha! Get it, 12th man in football... there are 11 men on the field in football, so the fans are the 12th. There are 9 men on the field in baseball, so you're the 10th. Good times... high five.
4. Gum chewing. Sure. The Players look like cattle eating grass out there sometimes with their big league chew, but the rest of us have to sit in very close seats and don't need to hear a lot of smacking and bubble popping. But this may be my rule of thumb in every day life. Chew with your lips closed please. Hey - we all have our things?!?!
5. Wave your rally towel! When you arrive at the game on Thursday or Friday, or in the ALCS series... you will receive a rally towel. Wave it crazily!!! It looks cool for the TV's, but the team loves it too! They did win 95 games and made it as a 1st seed into the playoffs. They deserve a little towel waving.
6. Respect the other team. Do you have to like them. Heck no! Can you boo them, only if appropriate. But do we throw things, cheer if they get hurt, yell horrible or obscene phrases, NO. Stay classy Rangers fans. Let's win with a little dignity and integrity! Now, if dude throws a punch on the field, you gotta defend yourself. All I'm gonna say.
7. HAVE FUN!!! Sure, I just listed out a few tips of things not to do, but the list of things you CAN DO is far longer!! Eat a hot dog, grab a DP (Dr Pepper), eat some cotton candy, high five the pistachio guy who whistles with the gap in his front teeth, high five the strangers next to you when the Rangers score or have a great hit, the list goes on and on. And at the end of the game, when we've won, leave the stadium chanting... "LET'S GO RANGERS... LET'S GO RANGERS... LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!"
p.s. I hope the Blue Jays are enjoying their champagne right now... it's the last time they'll celebrate in 2016.
