Week 14: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ MAVS ~ Oil Mash-up

GO MAVS!!! 12-11 (wins ~ losses)

We beat the Clippers!!! The game I got to go to last Sunday was awesome! It's like every team in Dallas has learned to play a little Defense these days!

I felt like J.J. Barea was the only guy scoring points in the first half, he finished with 24 points on the night. But Harrison Barnes stayed consistent all night too, leading the team with 30 points. I may or may not have been yelling/cheering for Matthews or DSJ (Dennis Smith Jr.) to do something!! Matthews finally got his shot going and then DeAndre Jordan decided to play defense against his old team. His effort in the second half turned the game around! He finished the night with 23 rebounds, in which 17 of those were Defensive rebounds. Now that's what I'm talking about!!

There was a moment in the game where DSJ was fouled by Patrick Beverley and his tooth came out. HIS TOOTH! The friends I was with at the game instantly noticed their wasn't any blood, so it was already a fake tooth, but man, that was a crazy scene. Glad he's okay. And don't worry, he already had a new temporary tooth for the post-game press conference. He said he's got to look good for the ladies. Hmm.

Since our victory against the Clippers, we beat the Portland Trailblazers and lost to the New Orleans Pelicans. This has left us in 2nd place in the Southwest Division and in 9th place in the West. Our next game is Saturday night, 11/8 vs. the struggling Houston Rockets. I say we get the W vs. James Harden and his crew.

GO Cowboys!!! 7-5 (wins ~ losses)
1st in the NFC East
4th in the NFC (National Football Conference)
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys (away team ~ home team)
Sunday, December 9th at 3:25 PM CST on FOX

We BEAT the Saints! Did y'all see that? We BEAT the SAINTS!

I still can't believe it. We took down one of the top three teams in the league!

There's a few of us nerds who wore our Cowboys shirts to the office the next day. We were going over every play and trying to re-live how awesome our Defense was!! And yes, this was a group of three women talking. Ha!

Dak threw for 249 yards, which we knew he would have to do against their not so great secondary. Zeke managed to rush for 75 yards against the former #1 Defense against the run. And our D! Y'all... I should list off the entire Defensive roster for you and give each one a standing ovation. Sheesh! Those guys played lights out! Held DREW BREES to only 127 yards, 1 TD and AN INTERCEPTION by Jourdan Lewis that was just beautiful! I thought we were going down with 2 minutes left and Brees to Michael Thomas. And then the INT. Y'all! I couldn't believe it! Still can't. But I better get on board because we play the Eagles this week.

Fly Eagles Fly? Ahem, NO. More like Run Zeke Run!

We've seen this Eagles team before this year. And they aren't that much better than they were when we beat them in Week 10, 27-20 in Philly.

Dallas definitely has the upper hand here. And it's a home game!

Home game Dak stats: The Cowboys are 5-1 at home. 10 of our 14 TD's (touchdowns), thrown by Dak, have been at home. Dak's QBR rating is 29 points higher at home vs. on the road, and Dak has thrown for almost the same yards in November (1,122) than he did in September and October combined (1,282). Now if this dude were a sales trend, you missed your chance to buy stock back in October, but it's still fun to watch the ride to the top.

**The guys wore long sleeves four weeks ago when we played Philly in Philly, and they've worn them every game since. They may believe it has contributed to our four-game win streak. Good thing it will be coldish in Dallas Sunday so they don't look silly wearing those things, but you'd better believe they'll have them on. Even if the dome is closed.**

Sunday's game vs. last years Super Bowl Champions...

We're going to win.

I respect Carson Wentz and quite a few of the Eagles players. I thought I'd eat dirt before I ever said those words; however, individual people can be good, I can't keep holding it against the entire organization. But you better believe I don't want them to win! Nope. Don't care.

GO COWBOYS!!!

Our Defense doesn't have to figure out much during this game. Wentz will throw to Zach Ertz, the only TE (Tight End) in the league who is scoring points, when Gronk isn't hurt. They don't have a run game with Adams as their main back. He only has 376 rushing yards on the season, compared to Zeke with 1,149 yards.

Vander Esch, Smith, Brown, Lawrence, Jones, and every other Defensive player will make sure to shutdown Ertz, and focus on getting the pressure on Wentz. Wentz is coming off knee surgery, so playing a strong Defensive Line, like the Cowboys have, has to make him extra cautious... and I don't blame him!

What do the Cowboys need to do?

It's easy to say... Exactly what we did against the Saints. However, our Offense wasn't that great. We did enough to win the game, but our D held us in it. We only had one TD and two field goals. We will probably need more than that to beat Philly. Or maybe I just want to see that we can score more than that against a team with a lot of injuries and a bruised ego.

Michael Gallop, WR, was out with an illness this week, but should still play on Sunday. He had a decent game vs. the Saints and was a good diversion on plays not going to Zeke or Amari Cooper. Beasley hasn't been used much since Cooper arrived in Dallas, but hopefully we get him going again this week. Philly is ranked 10th vs the run, not 1st, like the Saints were... which should open up lanes for Zeke and allow Beasley to run the option. No matter who is catching or running the ball, I believe we will put up enough points to get the W.

Thoughts...
I used to be methodical about essential oils. I would make blends and mix with carrier oils, etc., but I've gotten so lazy in the day to day.

I literally drop a few drops of about 5 different blends on my feet and rub it all in. I figure a mash-up of oils is better than no oils?

I use some Young Living oils and quite a few from Butterfly Express. I feel like as long as you research their process and feel comfortable using them, go for it!

This time of year I use: Oregano, Lavender, Frankincense, Lemongrass and Clary Sage. Then a few mixed blends. Ha! Seriously, my feet smell like a cocktail of goodness!

One tip: It's great to put oils on your feet after a bath! Or use oils in bath salts. Put epsom salt in a glass jar, add sweet almond oil or coconut oil, then a few drops of essential oils. The only oil you're not going to want to include is peppermint. It acts like fire when mixed with water. Not good. Trust me.

Happy oiling!

And Happy sleeping.

Y'all. This month has been a beat down.

Sleep is necessary! Go get some!

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn

Week 11: Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ Mavs ~ Gift Guide for Black Friday

GO COWBOYS!!! 8-1 1st in the NFL (I've died and gone to Heaven) 1st in the NFC EAST Sunday, November 20th Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys  (home team is second) 12:00 PM CST on CBS First things first... the Cowboys are playing amazing football right now! Even sportscasters who don't like the Cowboys can't stop talking about them.  I mentioned last week that we are the most balanced team in the league. When your Offense and Defense share an even amount of time on the field, it is easier to stay fresh and productive. If you leave your D out there too long, they're bound to make mistakes. So even with our Offense being as productive as they are, they are still staying on the field long enough to keep it balanced.  The Cowboys have a total of 219 first downs this season and lead the league at Offensive time of possession, 33:39 minutes ( an NFL football game is made up of 4 quarters, 15 minutes each, a total of 60 minutes ).  Ton

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto.   No,
