GO COWBOYS!!!
It's so hard, to say goodbye, to yesterday...
You young kids may not know what song that is, so I'll let them YouTube it.
This season didn't end the way any of us wanted it to. However, it was way better than any of us could have predicted. We finished the season 12-4. Making it to 2 Playoff games, where we should have won the second one, but that's why I've waited a week to write this blog, so my bitterness would fade away.
At the beginning of the season, the Dallas Cowboys Defense was expected to be in the bottom 5 in the NFL, we finished the season ranked 19 out of 32, with a great base to build on for next year. I consider that a win.
The Dallas Cowboys Offense finished the season ranked 4th in the NFL! This is crazy awesome, thanks to our Offensive Coordinator, Callahan, a balanced offense, Tony Romo's toughness and DeMarco Murray's running skills! Oh, and this beast of a dude named Dez Bryant, who finished second in the NFL for most touchdowns in a season, he had 16! (Marshawn Lynch was first with 17 TD's, but he's a RB and they use him in the red zone, so that's expected).
In order to do the 2014 season proper justice... I figured I'd pull a page out of Jimmy Fallon's book and write a few thank you notes...
(music please)
Thank you... Jason Garrett, for giving Dallas sports writers something else to write about besides your red hair.
Thank you... Papa John's, for having Jerry Jones, Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman telling us we need to eat more pizza.
Thank you... Dallas Cowboys, for winning all of your games on the road and allowing home game season ticket holders make a profit on selling their tickets to opposing fans this year.
Thank you... Sports Center, for updating us on LeBron James at the beginning, middle and end of the football season (at least he's a Cowboys fan).
Thank you... Jerry Jones, for building the largest stadium for everyone else to win in and host the ACM's.
Thank you... Governor Chris Christie, for being the most excited Cowboys fan ever.
Thank you... Dean Blandino for reminding us why football isn't football anymore, because a catch clearly isn't a catch!
Thank you... DeMarco Murray, for rushing for 2,043 yards and only have 6 fumbles that caused all of Dallas to hold their breath simultaneously.
Thank you... Dallas Cowboys, for the best season in my adult life!

One of my favorite quotes from the movie Hook, which I've used before is... "that was a great game!" May not apply to the last game of the season, but it sure does apply to the ride we had this year!
I may have had plans to cash in my 401k and hitch hike my way to the Super Bowl in Arizona, if they had made it that far. But getting to go to the game against Detroit with my two sisters and see them win at least one Playoff game... made it all worth it!

Random Info:
Super Bowl Bound...
Nope, not the Cowboys... remember, Dez's catch wasn't a football play!
The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots will meet each other in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 1st at 5:30 PM (CST).
This is the Seahawks second year in a row to go to the Super Bowl! They start off slow (the Cowboys beat them in Week 6), then they power through to the SB.
The Colts are playing the Patriots like the Broncos did vs the Seahawks in the Super Bowl last year! Football in the rain looks fun!
Pro Bowl - January 26, 2015 - 5 PM (CST)
Who from the Cowboys will be in the Pro Bowl??
DeMarco Murray - RB
Dez Bryant - WR
Tony Romo - QB
Travis Frederick - C
Tyron Smith - OT
Zack Martin - OG
L.P. Ladouceur - LS
Our Rookie Guard, Zack Martin, made it to the Pro Bowl!! Congrats dude!! I'm sure you'll rep us well! Great draft pick and from what we hear, he's a great guy!!
The Pro Bowl - is a fun game that doesn't really matter. Watch if you will... it's still football, unless NFL Officials are there.
