Dallas Cowboys Week 8 ~ Tory Burch, Vera Wang and Frank Sinatra

GO COWBOYS!!! 6-1

WEEK 8 - Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys
(remember, the second team is at HOME)
Game Time: Monday, October 27 7:30 PM (CST)

The Dallas Cowboys, America's Football Team (Packers, what??), has a winning record of 6-1. Yes, we have started the seasons with only 1 loss against San Francisco in our first game of the season.

What has changed since Game 1? Glad you asked...

~ Tony Romo (QB) - has found his sea legs, miraculously strengthened his back and has taken Wednesday's off from physical practice. He is definitely playing his best year of football, ever. He has thrown for over 1700 yards, with a 69.2% completion rate and 14 TD's (touchdowns). He's not the #1 QB in the league, but he's doing what he needs to do for our team.

~ DeMarco Murray (RB) - has found just about every gap our Offensive Line can create for him to run through. He stopped fumbling in the first quarter of games and has shown improvement in his decision making. Plus, he can catch. What more could you ask for? He already holds the record with 7 games, scoring 100+ rushing yards to start a season. If he wants to beat Barry Sanders record, he will have to score 100+ rushing yards for 15 games straight! He could beat Walter Payton by making it 10 consecutive games!

~ Jason Witten (TE) - he is as good as ever! He may be giving up some yards to his back-up, Escobar, but he is blocking and paving the way for Murray on almost every play. I know Witten wants to get the ball more, his Fantasy Football owners want him to get the ball more, but whatever he does, he does well. Listen to his short interview on Ben and Skin. Dude is so legit! #respect

This week's Matchup...

Any UT fans out there?? Yes, University of Texas fans, Colt McCoy, is starting as QB for the Washington Redskins. In case you forgot, he is still in the NFL. Baylor's beloved, RGIII, used to be the QB, but he had an ankle injury in Week 2 that sidelined him. The Redskins played Kirk Cousins as their QB the past 4 weeks, then decided to put McCoy in. Merry-go-round of QB's in the D.C.

The Redskins are 2-5, and last in the NFC East. Yes, they're in our division. We are in the NFC East. The NY Giants, that we played last week, are also in our division, and you saw how close that game was. Think of it like UT vs OU, or TCU vs Baylor... the teams play harder because of the rivalry. The Redskins know us well because they play us twice a season, as do the NY Giants and Philadelphia Eagles

Bottom Line: The Redskins still have two WR's that are really good. DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon. Our D has to put a lot of pressure on McCoy and double cover Jackson. We are more than capable of defeating the Redskins by 20 points. With the rivalry... we'll lower it to 14 points.

Fantasy Football Update: I am neck and neck with one of my uncles in one of my fantasy leagues... He is a Redskins fan, do not ask why, and clearly I'm a Cowboys fan, as I should be. We're playing each other this week. Game on!

GO MAVS!!!

It's officially Basketball Season. The first game is October 28th vs the San Antonio Spurs!

Almost every player on the Mavs has mentioned how they need to be more aggressive and tough this year. Most of these guys are making bank, so they need to prove their worth... Chandler Parsons isn't afraid of the challenge

Clearly, we're going to be better this year. Cuban went out and bought us back some height and some D! (D=Defense) If Dirk can rest up and work on his jump shot, we'll make it to the Playoffs!

Yes, I'm confident in Dallas sports right now.

Random Info:
Can sports translate to the workforce? How you operate as a team? How you respect your co-workers? How you give it your best, even when the outcome may look bleak?

It totally does! You learn so many life lessons from playing sports. Well, the kind of sports where not everyone gets a trophy. That's a topic I could rant about, but I'll spare you. Let's just say, it's good to win and lose in life.

The kind of sports where you had to give it your best. Give it your all. Put 110% in, and know that you're either leading people towards greatness, or are causing them to stumble and fall.

This is a great article about a few famous women, in the fashion industry (in which I work), who relate their corporate success to sports.

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto. ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Week 2: New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ UNT beat Arkansas ~ Scooter Magruder

GO Cowboys!!! 0-1 (wins ~ losses) New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ( away team ~ home team ) Sunday, September 16 @ 7:20 PM CST on NBC If you watched the game last week, where we lost to the Carolina Panthers, you have most likely decided to stop watching the rest of the season. It was a rough game. And it makes a lot of people think that first string players should get more reps during pre-season games so your Week 1 game isn't a scrimmage. So, during the " scrimmage ," that was a regular season game, Dak matched Cam Newton ( Carolina's QB ) in passing yards and was pretty close in accuracy. So where did Carolina win? Aside from wearing out our Defense... Newton had 13 carries for 58 rushing yards, allowing him to score one of their two TD's ( touchdowns ). Zeke ( our RB, running back ) had 15 carries for 69 rushing yards and one TD. Carolina out played us in the run game because they're not afraid to allow their QB to run. They converted more 1st ...
