Weekend Preview

GO RANGERS!!!

Games against Oakland start tonight! It's a 3 game series (as most are in baseball).

***WE NEED TO WIN THESE GAMES!!!!***

We are now 3.5 games behind Oakland for the lead and a spot in the playoffs! We have to win to get even with them!

Derek Holland is "on the mound" tonight (he's the pitcher... get it... pitching mound... guy "on the mound" - pitcher...For the full pitching line up - check out my last post...

We are still missing a few of our "big bats" going into this series... but if Elvis Andrus and Ian Kinsler can get on base and Adrian Beltre can hit them home... we may survive! Come on Rangers! ("big bats" - guys that are clutch hitters in a pressure situation - hit home-runs - possibly a grand-slam, etc.)

Oh and if you're going to the game... please review the "Random Info" section from my last post. This is critical information!! ("anti-wave" tips) - Ladies - if you're on a date - and the dude you're with stands up to do the wave... it may be a "deal-breaker" #justsayin

GO DALLAS COWBOYS!!!

Well - since Josh Hamilton dubbed us a "Football Town" and not a "Baseball Town"... I will oblige him and give you the Week 2 Preview for the Cowboys! (I actually still like Hamilton - just thought I'd throw in a bit of history)

The Cowboys play the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at 12:00 PM!!! The Game is in KC!!! If you go to the game... please wear blue and white... NO PINK! Only team colors. This is mandatory! We are not Jessica Simpson. (no offense) :)

Also, since the KC Chiefs have a much better Defense than the New York Giants... the Cowboys Offense has to step it up a notch! KC is going to put a lot of pressure on our Offensive Line (the guys who block for Romo - our Quarterback). Smart play-calling is going to win this game!

Key Players:
~ Tony Romo (QB - #9) - He's our QB - he's always a key player! ha!
~ Jason Witten (TE - #82) - stud - #2 receiver! (Dez Bryant is still #1 - hurt foot and all)
~ DeMarco Murray (RB (running back) - #29) - hopefully he can slide through KC's defensive line!!!
~ All of our Defense!!! (Anthony Spencer - dude who plays on the opposite side of Demarcus Ware - he is recovering from a surgery during the off-season, but may show up for a few downs) ("downs"... I'll explain that later - if you say it - dudes will know what you mean) :)

My pick... Cowboys win!!! :) 28 - 14 (score)

Random Info:
You MUST watch the Denver Broncos vs New York Giants game! 3:15 PM - it is on CBS!!! Peyton Manning vs Eli Manning... brother vs brother! This a great duel! You have to tune in for a bit! Peyton Manning is on a quest to win the Super Bowl this year... dude is aging and he is running out of time. (clearly - he's the older brother!) He used to play for the Indianapolis Colts! Good times!

~smile~

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
