Overreaction Monday - Week 2

GO DALLAS COWBOYS!!!

Mini-recap... Dallas lost to the Kansas City Chiefs this yesterday! We are now 1-1. (1 Win - 1 Loss)

Alex Smith (KC's QB - quarterback) did a bit of running and spinning to try and confuse our Defense... but they held their own for most of the game! And it's totally weird seeing Andy Reid in Kansas City red!! He used to be the head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles (our least favorite team ever)!!! This is his first year with KC and he's already 2-0!

As for Tony Romo (our QB) and the Offense... they looked out of rhythm! Romo had his ribs bruised last week during the game... he played last year with broken ribs... I know he's not in as much pain as last year, but the 4th quarter looked like he was feeling it! Pray dude heals by next Sunday!

We had two fumbles that gave great "field position" for the Chiefs! Overall - the Kansas City Defense did what we thought they would do! Kept us off-balance, which shut-down our run game and forced us to throw the ball! (field position - where the ball is on the field... 40 yard line, 20 yard line, etc... the closer we gave it to them near their End Zone - the easier they would score - which they did!)

We play the St. Louis Rams next Sunday at Noon - look for my preview later in the week!

GO RANGERS!!!

And... the Rangers got SWEPT by the Oakland A's on Sunday. I never thought I would be explaining or using the words sweep, swept so often in this blog! Terrible!

Very little to say about this past series, except that their hitting was terrible... non-existent! Pitching was decent the past two games, but our line-up couldn't get their bats going!

**Side Note - Jed Lowrie on the Oakland A's is also a photographer... everyone gets to have two life dreams... I guess! JL4 photography **

We are now 6.5 games back from Oakland in the chase for the playoffs. I am not sure it's going to happen for us this year folks... but we don't have to give up just yet! We typically play well "on the road" - so lets see how this upcoming series goes! (on the road - means its NOT a home game)

This coming week - we start a 4 game series against the Tampa Bay Rays! Here's the pitching line-up!

SEPTEMBER 16, 6:10 PM CT - MONDAY
Matt Garza - 4.46 era

SEPTEMBER 17, 6:10 PM CT - TUESDAY
NICK TEPESCH - 4.84 era

SEPTEMBER 18, 6:10 PM CT - WEDNESDAY
DEREK HOLLAND - 3.40 era

SEPTEMBER 19, 6:10 PM CT - THURSDAY
YU DARVISH - 2.79 era

All of these pitchers are more than capable of holding off the Rays - if our Offense can "put runs on the board!" (score runs - the big board in the outfield - when you score - numbers go on it when a dude scores a run... etc)

The next weeks games are not in Arlington... so if you happen to be out of town... and end up at a game in Florida - once again... cheer loudly and only wear team colors - no PINK!!! :)

Random Info:
~ I told yall to watch the Broncos vs Giants game on Sunday... Peyton Manning is on a quest to win the Super Bowl this year... keep an eye on him! Many think he is weaker after having nerve surgery on his neck two years ago... but he looks more than fine to me! Dude dominated the last two games! Bring it!

~ Aaron Rodgers (QB for Green Bay Packers) got me 49 pts in my fantasy league this week... game on! woohooo!!!

~smile~

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
