Rangers Win Game 2 - Holland Today

GO RANGERS!!!

HELLO WIN COLUMN!!!! Rangers beat the Angles in Game 2, 5-3!

There were a lot of base hits! A lot of runs scored with us holding our breath! And an awesome ending!!

~ Ian Kinsler (2nd Baseman) did a great job all night! He kept us in the game on the field and at bat!

~ Alex Rios (Right Fielder) not only did he have a few great catches, but he also stole a base and had a go-ahead hit in the 7th, scoring an RBI! (we wen't over RBI's, but a "go-ahead hit" means - the guy hit the ball and caused a run to score that put their team ahead of the other team.)

~ Alexi Ogando (starting pitcher) did a decent job. He gave up a few hits that allowed the Angels to score 3 runs, but the Rangers were able to keep up and give Joe Nathan (closing pitcher) the lead in the 9th inning!!

~ In Other News... Josh Hamilton hit his 1,000 career hit last night. Say what you want, but as an actual baseball player... that's a cool accomplishment!

PLAYOFF RACE..
The Rangers have to win today and tomorrow!
Even then, we still need Cleveland and Tampa Bay to lose!! We are 1 game behind them... even if they lose - there is a possibility of a 3-way tie! Needless to say, this is NOT how we like getting into the playoffs two years in a row, but we'll take it!

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
