Overreaction Monday... Game 3

GO COWBOYS!!!

The Cowboys win!!! They beat the St. Louis Rams 31-7

Welcome to the Cowboys of yesteryear (early 1990's to be exact)!!! We are starting the season 2-1!!

~ Romo (QB) was killin' me by not using Jason Witten (TE) in the "Red Zone" - but Fantasy Football aside... game on!!! He was able to target three different receivers for TD's!! And DeMarco Murray (RB) was able to score with the run game! ("Red Zone" - this is the code word for the yards between the 20 yard line and the End Zone goal line")

~ Our Offensive Line (guys who block for Romo) were solid for the most part! Romo was able to throw and we were able to create holes for the Running Backs!

~ Our Defense... wow... they were able to hold off Sam Bradford (Rams QB) and company!!! Demarcus Ware - just tell people he's a beast. Done and done!

~ Side Note... Miles Austin (WR - wide receiver) is left the game with an injured hamstring... remember... I warned yall at the beginning of the season about his hamstring history! Dude always gets injured, which is sad, he would be a great asset if he could stay healthy!

**Get ready folks... we will definitely be better than 8-8 this year! Bust out your hoodies and t-shirts... wear your gear around town and trash talk Giants, Eagles and Redskins fans!!! (they all lost this week - woooohooo!!!)**

GO RANGERS!!!

Well... we lost game 3 against the Royals. 4-0 in extra innings (any inning after 9 innings is considered "extra" - in other sports they would call this "overtime" - i.e.: basketball, football, hockey, etc)

~ The game was tied 0-0 going into the 10th inning... Alexi Ogando (our starting Pitcher) held off the Royals for 7 scoreless innings... only they held us off too!

~ Joakim Soria was the Rangers pitcher in the 10th inning when he allowed "bases to get loaded" and a grand-slam, walk-off home run was hit by Justin Maxwell to win the game for the Royals!

~ "bases loaded" - you have a runner at every base - 1st, 2nd and 3rd
~ "grand-slam" - when you have "bases loaded" and the guy at bat hits a home run to score all 3 guys on base + himself = 4 runs total (or this could be a breakfast order at Denny's)
~ "walk-off" - this is when the home team has the last at bat in the bottom of the inning and a batter hits a guy home or many things can happen, but they score enough in that at bat to win the game!

We are now 1 1/2 games behind Cleveland to get the 2nd spot in the Playoffs. Our momentum is very slow... it will take a lot of gusto to pull this off!

The Rangers start a 3 game series at home against the Houston Astros! (Sadly - they aren't very good, so we should win these!!!

Here is the pitching line-up! We got this!

SEPTEMBER 23, 7:05 PM CT
Derek holland - era 3.48

SEPTEMBER 24, 7:05 PM CT
yu darvish - era 2.81

SEPTEMBER 25, 7:05 PM CT
Martin perez - era 3.54

Random Info:
~ Team sports are awesome! I love how you get to see these guys match-up and try to play chess against each other on every play!! These dudes are so talented and just plain fun to watch!!!  Baseball seems like a "real job" since they're on the field every day, grinding it out... but football prep during the week seems almost as intense! Either way - I love it all!!!

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
