Rangers lose Game 3... Cowboys Pre-View Week 3

GO RANGERS!!!

Well... I'm tired... the Rangers look tired... let's call the whole thing off. (kidding)

The Rangers lose tonight in the 13th inning to the Tampa Bay Rays. This was Game 3 in a 4 game series. TB has won 2 out of the three, which puts us 3rd in the race now for the Playoffs!

Our guys fought hard, but clearly not enough for a W! Overall, Derek Holland's pitching was good and our guys were able to get on base. We just didn't have the power to drive runs in.

I'm afraid we don't have enough healthy guys on our team going into the home-stretch to get it done. Every game from here on is a MUST WIN!

We play our 4th game against Tampa Bay tomorrow at 6:10 PM. Yu Darvish is pitching. Our Offense had better score runs and not waste another Yu Darvish start! He is great at striking guys out, but we have to help him by putting points on the board. (we've been over this... when you score - it shows on the big jumbo-tron looking thing - board - "points on the board") :)

CHEER LOUDLY... maybe they'll hear us all the way in Florida!

GO COWBOYS!!!

12:00 PM - this Sunday - St. Louis Rams vs Dallas Cowboys. (note to self - whenever a game is listed for any sport... the second team listed means they have home field advantage... so, by how the game is listed above - the Dallas Cowboys are playing at home... in Arlington - the spaceship Jerry Jones built

So - the Cowboys lost on the road last week to Kansas City. We looked a little discombobulated... not how we looked in Week 1 vs the New York Giants when we won!

Good news - we know they can play like they did in Week 1! Bad news - we know they can play like they did in Week 2!

Tony Romo (our QB) - still says his ribs are fine after getting rocked in the game against the Giants. He has played hurt before, but he looked like the pain was really bothering him last week. Let's hope they sprinkle some WD-40 on him and help him be a little more mobile this week! No one wants a tin-man as their QB... liability for us all!

As far as our "run game" goes. This is where you need a solid Running Back. When we "run the ball" - it gives the QB a break. Dude needs to have a moment every now and then from getting rushed by 300 lb crazy men, yelling things about his mom!

This is where DeMarco Murray comes into play, he is our Running Back. (This is who Emmitt Smith used to be... What?? You don't know who Emmitt Smith is... read on... he played two seasons in Arizona at the end of his career - but no one remembers that!) Back to Murray - He only rushed (ran) 12 times for 25 yards in last weeks game. This would be the equivalent of you sprinting 12 times from the parking lot to the door of Nordstrom. Actually... that may be farther.

Basically - we have got to get Tony Romo help and get our "run game" going!

Bonus - St. Louis' "run game" is horrible too! And - their Defense gives up a lot of points when the opposing team throws the ball. So, worse case Romo has to throw - I think we can hang against their secondary. ("secondary" - dude's who "cover" the Wide Receivers - "to cover" - guard against

Our Defense can rock Sam Bradford (the QB for St. Louis). He did play at Oklahoma University - so I know many of you OU fans will want to cheer for him... but remember... your loyalty lies with the Dallas Cowboys.

No Pink Cowboys Gear... Blue and White ONLY! However, grey is always a wonderful accent color! :)

Random Info:
~ Emmitt Smith currently holds the NFL record in career rushing yards... 18,355. He has many other records and was on our Dallas Cowboys teams that won Super Bowls (yes that is plural) in 1992, 1993 and 1995. I had posters in my bedroom growing up that had the Back to Back image on them!! Man, those were some great years! And yes - he has recently been on Dancing with the Stars. (we try to block this from our mind - goes from being an amazing running back to twinkle toes) :)

~smile~

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
