Dallas Cowboys Preview Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!!

Week 8 Matchup: Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions (in Detroit - since they're the 2nd team listed) - GAME TIME - Sunday, NOON CST

The Detroit Lions. The only way some of you may know this team is if you ever watched the 90's TV show Home Improvement. Tim Allen played the main character and was a huge Lions fan. "Hidey ho, neighbor"

What you need to know about the Lions...

~ Their in the NFC North. (We're in the NFC East).
~ They typically play on Thanksgiving Day (so do the Cowboys).
~ Their QB is Matthew Stafford. Dude played college ball at Georgia, and came into the NFL as a 1st round draft pick in 2009. (we talked about the NFL Draft a few weeks ago
~ They also have one of the greatest Wide Receivers ever... Calvin Johnson! He was the only receiving option for the past few years for the Lions. I won my Fantasy Football league the year he came into the league... because of him, Adrian Peterson and Sidney Rice... sigh... glory days. Anyway - here's a snipit of our main WR, Dez Bryant vs. Calvin Johnson... both are BIG dudes and I would be scared to cover either of them. ("cover" - to guard them - what the secondary does... remember Defense, secondary, dudes who "cover" the Wide Receivers).

What does Dallas need to do to win this game?

~ Tony Romo (QB) - he needs to play smart! Romo's entire job is to score touchdowns. He has been doing a great job connecting with his WR's (wide receivers) and TE's (tight ends). Detroit's Defense isn't that good. If Romo keeps his head in the game and the receiving corps is in sync with him... we should win this!

~ Dez Bryant (WR) - dude already said he could match Calvin Johnson's ability and play. So, let's see it Dez! He better have a monster game! Calvin is a fairly quite guy with the media, so it will be interesting to see how this motivates both of these guys.

Brandon Carr (Cornerback - secondary) - if you haven't noticed I've been talking a lot about this guy named Calvin Johnson. He's a WR for Detroit. Ha! So yea, basically, Carr will have one job all game... STOP CAVLIN JOHNSON. That's it. Sounds easy enough! Or terrifying, and we all better pray the dude can hang with him all 4 quarters. (you know there are 4 quarters in a Football game, right. They play 2 QTRS - halftime - 2 more QTRS... good times).

~ Dallas Defense - our entire Dallas D needs to put a lot of pressure on Stafford and stop him from even throwing the ball!! Game on!

Standings... We are #1 in our division! 4-3! (Wins - Losses) We have a chance to gain some ground on the Eagles and Redskins. The Giants have only won 1 game so far... sounds like my Fantasy teams. (insert sad face)

Random Info:
Is Christmas around the corner? I believe so... pretty sure there's a cool person in your family who needs a jersey! Maybe a Dan Bailey jersey? He's our kicker... it's an inside joke, but for real... there are some cool jersey's out there. I can wear a size Youth L - it works perfectly and saves some dollar bills! shop here

Game 1 of the World Series looks like it's going to the Red Sox! #GoSox #AmericanLeague

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto. ...

Week 2: New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ UNT beat Arkansas ~ Scooter Magruder

GO Cowboys!!! 0-1 (wins ~ losses) New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ( away team ~ home team ) Sunday, September 16 @ 7:20 PM CST on NBC If you watched the game last week, where we lost to the Carolina Panthers, you have most likely decided to stop watching the rest of the season. It was a rough game. And it makes a lot of people think that first string players should get more reps during pre-season games so your Week 1 game isn't a scrimmage. So, during the " scrimmage ," that was a regular season game, Dak matched Cam Newton ( Carolina's QB ) in passing yards and was pretty close in accuracy. So where did Carolina win? Aside from wearing out our Defense... Newton had 13 carries for 58 rushing yards, allowing him to score one of their two TD's ( touchdowns ). Zeke ( our RB, running back ) had 15 carries for 69 rushing yards and one TD. Carolina out played us in the run game because they're not afraid to allow their QB to run. They converted more 1st ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 2 ~ Texas Rangers ~ Subway Series, Matt Harvey

GO COWBOYS!!! 2-0  (wins - losses) Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles  - We won!!! Y'all. Everyone is injured. Yes, we won, but it was still as chaotic as it was against the Giants in Week 1.  Injuries... to our Starters...  Quarterback - Tony Romo is out with a collarbone fracture. For probably 8 weeks. He doesn't need surgery, which is a good thing!! He had this same injury in 2010, caused by the Giants. So, he needs to be a little more careful vs. the Eagles and Giants.  Tight End - Jason Witten is probable for this week with two ankle sprains and a sprained knee. He has proven he is one of the toughest guys ... EVER. He will most likely play through the pain, but if he wants to take a rest vs. the Atlanta Falcons this week, I'm okay with that.  Wide Receiver  -  Dez Bryant has a broken bone in his foot . He had surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks. If we go 6 weeks, the Cowboys have a BYE Week in Week 6, so technica...
