Over-reaction Monday Week 14 ~ MAVS ~ Rangers

GO COWBOYS!!!

Week 14 Matchup: Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears... Who Won? Da Bears! BIG! 28-45

No one was hibernating tonight at Soldier Field. The Bears came to play in some frigid temperatures! 7 degrees... feels like -4... dagger!

~ McCown (Chicago's back-up QB) - after tonight - I'm more afraid of him then most active QB's in the league. He has lethal weapons in Brandon Marshall (WR), Alshon Jeffery (WR) and Matt Forte (RB). They scored on EVERY possession! (except an onside kick) 5 TD's!! They played so well - they were cocky enough to go for two points instead of going for the extra point after their TD at 33 pts. That is bold. In your face to the Cowboys Defense. Wow. This one hurts.

~ Dallas. Our Offense had a run game going in the beginning. Chicago is horrible against the run, but we didn't even maximize on it! DeMarco Murray (our RB) had 145 yards and no TD's. Romo threw for 3 TD's to 3 different receivers! That's a cool stat... if it added up to more points than the other team! Communication between Romo and the O-line was failing... by the end of the 3rd Qtr it was just plain sad.

~ We were 18 points shy of a victory tonight. Our Offense couldn't stay on the field long enough to give our sub-par Defense a break. The Bears dominated. All Game! Our D can't stop the passing game... and we couldn't convert on 3rd down! Not a good combo. Claiborne (our Cornerback) is still out... a few other Defensive players are injured still and the worst part... Sean Lee is out again. Remember, he's our linebacker I told you about last week. Say a prayer for him!

Well... this is how December starts... I feel like Eore right now... (but that won't last long... can't let football bring you down... at least we're not the Redskins... dismal season and an upcoming name change!

Standings... We are 7-6, we have pathetically given the lead to the P. Ea$(es. That grieves me. They are at 8-5. Booooo - we need them to lose to Minnesota next week. (not likely) The NY Giants... G-Men... They lost to San Diego this week to put them at 5-8 :) Yayaya... we are two up on them! As for the Redskins... I think they have an appointment with Dr. Phil coming up in the next few weeks. Woosaw... woosaw... (from Bad Boys II - children don't watch that - or watch the TV version)

GO MAVS!!!

Mavs record is... 13-8... woohoo... (We are in the Western Conference)

~ Monte Ellis buzzer beater over TrailBlazers!!!

So often in bball you can win or lose by 2, maybe 3 points! Sometimes you win by 1 point if it's a free throw shot. Either way... our last three W's came from a victory margin of less than 7 points! Keep it up fellas! Fight hard! This is why they call them athletes... they have endurance... they finish strong! Great life skills!

~ Dirk... ahhh Dirk. Dude is averaging 24.3 points per game (PPG). He's 53% accurate in his shooting and has a great supporting cast! Nothing really matters until after the All-Star game in February... but we'll all take a great start!

GO RANGERS!!!

~ The latest quote from Jon Daniels (Rangers General Manager - GM)

"He said for the club to make another move it has to be "the right fit, otherwise we're content with where we're at." But don't take that to mean the Rangers will stand pat. They are interested in further upgrading the lineup and will go about trying to do that at these meetings and beyond."

Mitch Moreland is our current DH (Designated Hitter - means he doesn't play in the field - only bats) - odds are this won't hold up... (he did have a .232 batting average in 2013... also, 23 home runs and 60 RBI's).

Random Info:
~ The Cowboys may not have survived the Ice in Chicago... but hopefully all of you survived the ice in Dallas! I'm pretty sure we had 3 inches in places. There were literally people with ice skates on, posting pics on FB! Good times! You gotta love Dallas! Here's the craziest video from the storm...

Stay Warm!!! Build a fire! Gear up for more football Sunday!!

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...

Week 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings ~ NFC East ~ NFL logo quiz

GO COWBOYS!!! 10-1 1st in the NFL 1st in the NFC EAST Thursday, December 1st 7:25 PM CST on NBC We've NEVER won 10 consecutive games. Ever.  We lost our first game of the season to the New York Giants, by one point. And oddly enough, they are still the ghost we're trying to run away from and secure our playoff spot with only 5 Regular Season games left.  Here is what the NFC East looks like going into Week 13...  The Minnesota Vikings... what should we fear?  The Vikings are in the NFC North Division. They currently trail the Detroit Lions for a spot in the playoffs. They have only won 1 of their last 5 games, which makes this Thursday night, showtime game, a must win for the Vikings!  4-1 at home, The Vikings meet the Cowboys who are 5-0 on the road. Oh how I love those odds! Forever in our favor this season.  Quarterback situation. Sam Bradford is the starting QB for the Vikings. A guy they got in the o...
