Dallas Cowboys Week 17 Preview ~ MAVS ~ Rangers

GO COWBOYS!!!

Week 17 Matchup: Ph#lad@lphia E@gles vs Dallas Cowboys (it's in Dallas - they're the second team listedSunday, December 29 - 7:30 PM (this the last game of the Regular Season)

All I want for Christmas is Kyle Orton? No, Jon Kitna? No wait, pretty sure I didn't wish for a back-up QB!

~ Tony Romo, our QB, is injured. He had back surgery before the season, our coaches and staff made it seem like it wasn't a big deal. I beg to differ now that we're facing an elimination game without our starting QB. Who are our two options for back-up QB's, the dudes I mentioned above. Both are veterans and can get the job done, and who knows, maybe our coaches will run the ball more since they aren't as comfortable with these buys behind center. ("Behind Center" - where the QB stands, he takes the ball from the lineman in the Center of the formation).

~ I was telling a friend the other day that I wish we had already drafted a younger QB to learn from Romo, the whole Yoda thing. Even though he has 5 years left on his contract, it would be nice to know we were raising up young blood! Aaron Rodgers sat on the bench behind Brett Favre, on the Green Bay Packers, for 3 years before starting. Not that Favre was the best teacher, but I'm sure he learned something. But once again, this would require Jerry making a move. Not probable.

~ If Dallas is able to pull off a W this week, it will be all heart! They will be playing for their QB who is injured. They will be playing because they despise their opponent more than I do! They will be playing because they're tired of being mediocre. And most of all, they're playing for each other!

Look for a big game from Dez Bryant, WR, Jason Witten, TE, DeMarco Murray, RB, and your entire Defense who is still banged up!

Bottom Line... The E@g^es are on a roll. Nick Foles, their back-up QB, is legit. Dude has lead them to 6 Wins and 1 Loss in the last 7 weeks. Annoying. You know this is my least favorite team. So, as much as I would like Jerry to learn a lesson if the Cowboys were to lose and have to face yet another year without making it into the playoffs, I cannot handle a loss to this team. GO COWBOYS!!! CHEER LOUDLY!!! :)

Standings... We are 8-7. (8 Wins, 7 Losses.) The team we're playing this week has 9 Wins and 6 Losses. We beat Ph&lly earlier this year in Week 7. If they beat us, they make it into the Playoffs. If we win, we make it into the Playoffs. The Giants and Redskins are already out of it. Sadly, the E@gles have a lot of momentum. We have a little after last week, but with Romo out, it will be interesting to see how our team gets motivated to take this W from Ph!illy.

GO MAVS!!!

Mavs record is... 16-12... we beat the Rockets!! Woohoo!!

~ Dallas stepped it up against the Houston Rockets Monday night! They held Dwight Howard to 15 points! While Dirk had 31 points and has moved up to 13th on the All-time scoring list!! Mad props Sir! Now, if only we could play some Defense!

GO RANGERS!!!

~ We haven't made any monumental trades this past week. But I thought this article was interesting, relating the Cowboys potential loss of Romo to the equivalent for the Rangers.

Random Info:
~ I hope each of you had a splendid Christmas with your family and friends!! Make sure to tell the people in your life you love them! And if you have already started writing down your New Years Resolutions, you should consider hugging people more. Maybe not strangers, that's just plain awkward, but the people in your life you love the most, just give them a big ole bear hug!!! :) It's liberating! And probably a resolution you could actually accomplish! ha!

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
