Over-reaction Monday Week 13 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!!

Week 13 Matchup: Dallas Won!!!! We beat the Oakland Raiders!! 31-24 :)

Did you see the first play of the game. If you did, Terrance Williams (replacement for Dwayne Harris who normally catches the ball on Special Teams) dropped punt that lead to a touchdown for the Oakland Raiders. Wow. That had a sucker-punch feeling to it after eating my Thanksgiving Meal! Not the best way to digest! Good thing is... it got better. Not prettier, but better, because we won.

~ Dallas Defense. Man, we need Sean Lee back. He's the linebacker I told you was out last week and again this week with a hamstring injury. I'm not saying he's the best player ever, but the rest of the Defense clearly plays smarter when that kid is on the field. We had one interception by Brandon Carr; aside from that, it was not good. We play the Chicago Bears a week from this coming  Monday. This gives our Defense 11 days to read the play book, practice it and execute!

~ Dallas Offense. Ugh. Roller-coaster. We have a run game with Dunbar and Murray (144 yards), then we don't. We have a passing game with Dez Bryant and Jason Witten (208 yards), then we don't. Cole Beasley made his flash appearance with 3 receptions. Dez scored a TD, giving Tony Romo his 25th consecutive game with a TD pass. Great stats for Romo, I'm just glad it came with a W! (W=win) Like I said for the Defense... we have 11 days until our next game... our Offense should use this time to study up on the next four teams leading into the playoffs!

~ Dan Bailey, our kicker. He was perfect again today! Keep your expectations high for this kid! He is the most consistent player on our team! :)

Cowboys next game... Monday, Dec 9 at Chicago 7:30 PM CST. Game On!

Standings... The Dallas Cowboys are 7-5. It has NOT been pretty, or easy, but that's not what football is about! It was just as messy when the New York Giants won their Super Bowl in 2009... limping in. We will see what the E*g*es can do this week to possibly tie us. We're not too worried about the Giants. And the Redskins are playing blindfolded... but they'll get great draft picks next year!!

Buy Dallas Cowboys Gear for Christmas!! :)

GO MAVS!!!

Mavs record is... 9-6... we need to hold on to this lead in the West... (We are in the Western Conference)

~ Leave it to a Rookie to help us get the W against Golden State! Shane Larkin made a 3 point shot to help the Mavs lead against the Warriors! Dirk had 22 points and Monte Ellis was assist man. ("assist" - this is when a player passes the ball to another player and they score off that pass. It is called an assist. They get credited for this type of play and some guys make an entire career off of if! Just ask Jason Kidd!

~ We need to play better Defense and get more rebounds. I used to joke that the team who has the most rebounds at the end of the game wins. But that may actually be scientific?!? We'll see...

GO RANGERS!!!

~ No other major trades have been made. I will let you know if you should start crying because they're getting rid of our favorite players.

Random Info:
~ Now that you probably ate way too much today! You should beat the New Years Resolution crowd and start your workout routine today!! :) It's so simple! Wake up, do a few pushups, crunches or join a gym with classes. Find a friend to walk with or meet you at the gym!! The mental part of getting motivated to go to the gym or put in your workout DVD is way harder than the work you'll do once you get there! So... just get there! Make it happen! Stay strong! Or get strong if you're not yet! I have a few DVD's I love and I make time for... Bar Method... it is a great workout for ladies. I think men would get bored with it... unless you want to tone your glutes with isometrics - ha! :) Happy Exercising!!!

Best Commercial during the Games... turkey pet...

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
