Over-reaction Monday Week 10 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!!

Dallas loses... 17-49!! New Orleans Saints Dominate... as everyone suspected! We are now 5-5 (Wins -Losses)!

Well, if your husband, boyfriend or dude you were near a TV with was watching the game... (still watching the game after the 3rd quarter...) you would know we lost to the Saints... BIG! You may want to give him some space today - let him vent - he'll rebound quickly! We're used to losing!

~ Drew Brees is Drew Brees (Saints QB)! I told y'all he is a Top 5 QB, and has many weapons on his Offense. ("weapon" - receiving corps that he can throw to, WR's, RB's, TE's...) He hit just about all of them, throwing for 392 yards and 4 TD's. (touchdowns)

~ Darren Sproles, Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram (RB's for the Saints) - Well, I didn't know Sproles would play all night, or play as well as he played. Our Defense didn't have an answer for Brees, any of the WR's or TE Jimmy Graham and especially not for Sproles, Thomas and Ingram! They ran over us all night, combined had 242 rushing yards. Embarrassing!

~ Dallas D - got whooped! Sean Lee got "injured" and left the game before the second half. DeMarcus Ware was finally back from his injury and you hardly heard his name. He had one sack in the 1st Qtr and then he was silenced. We had 11 penalties - which gave the Saints 82 advantage yards. Pathetic!!!

~ Romo and the Offense. Well... not sure what to say here. DeMarco Murray (our RB) finally was able to run, for 89 yards! (The Saints Defense isn't good at defending the Run, so we finally had some practice there.) But this shouldn't have looked like a Cowboys Pre-Season game... and it did! Our First String was in the whole game, in case you were confused. These weren't our back-up guys! (Man, it looked like my Fantasy Football team playing out there tonight!Pathetic!!!

~ Rob Ryan (the Saints Defensive Coordinator) - remember - he was with the Cowboys last year - so clearly he had some insight into shutting us down Offensively, and I'm sure he was able to expose all of our weaknesses to the Saints Coaching Staff. (Not like Dallas has tricks up their sleeves).

Recap... Don't blame Romo. He wasn't on the field long enough to have ruined this one. Blame Jerry Jones. He cares more about marketing, making money and having a Victoria's Secret in his stadium than having W's in the Win Column! If he really cared about Winning... he would quit the Vegas circus he created at Jerry World and build a team that has depth. Cut injury prone Miles Austin, get RB's that have power and start building your Defense around Ware! What other stadium in the NFL has more than seats, players, cheerleaders (not go-go dancers) and hot dogs?? Exactly. It's a joke.

Standings... Well, we're back at .500 which is pathetic. (if I haven't used that word enough to describe this game... I'll try to sneak it in one more time.

We're tied with the Eagles (boooooo) who won against Green Bay, only because Rodgers was out. (Green Bay's 3rd String QB played and almost beat them!

The New York Giants. Dang It. They do this, play terribly at the beginning of the year, then make some weird run towards the end of the season... they're sitting at (3-6).

The Washington Redskins are tied with the Giants (3-6) with a loss to the Vikings.

So basically, it's Russian Roulette in the NFC East. I am glad I don't bet because every week would be a toss up as to which team will show up!

Good news... Cowboys do not play next week! They have a BYE. This is good for two reasons...

1 - We don't have to watch this trash!
2 - We don't have to watch this trash... even though it's in our blood... from Tom Landry days... when it was respectable to be a Cowboys fan. Ugh... woe is me! Pathetic!

GO MAVS!!!

Mavs record is... 4-3

~ Monte Ellis - #11 - dude is awesome! I keep talking about him, because I should! If anyone asks about the Mavs, or someone takes you to a game, just say this dudes name... and that he averages 23 points per game. Done. You're in. Cool kid.

~ You should also mention Dirk, of course. "The Big German" :) We love him and he is still averaging 18 PPG (points per game)!

~ Shawn Marion is one of our tall guys, who can rebound the ball... He has an average of 8 rebounds per game. Kevin Love, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has an average of 14.7 RPG (just so you know what we're up against).

Overall - Dallas needs to play more D! Our shooters are doing their job, we have to apply more pressure and make sure to dominate on rebounds!

If you have free time this next week... go to a Mavs game!!!

I'm sure most of you know someone, are related to someone or just care about the Men and Women who defend our country with their lives. If you see a service man, even a Police Officer or Fireman tomorrow, tell them Thank You!

Their families have also sacrificed the convenience of seeing their loved ones! So pray for them, and the safety of all Men and Women who are fighting for our Freedom. What freedom we still have!

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
