Week 8: Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ Dallas Mavericks ~ Fixer Upper

GO COWBOYS!!! 2-4 (wins - losses)

Sunday, November 1st
Seattle Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys (home team is second)
3:25 PM CST on FOX

The Seattle Seahawks are coming to Dallas.

Pete Carroll (Head Coach, formerly at USC)
Russell Wilson (QB)
Marshawn Lynch (RB)
Tyler Lockett  (WR)
Richard Sherman (entire Defense)

This may be a big deal... since they won the Super Bowl in 2013 and their Conference last year. Now they have Jimmy Graham, TE from New Orleans, whom Russell Wilson seems to like! 31 receptions for 375 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

I'd like to say Graham will be Dallas' biggest challenge or Wilson or Lynch or Sherman, but Dallas' biggest challenge is Dallas!

If you remember, Dallas went to Seattle last year and defeated the Seahawks 30-23. Yes, this was with Dez, Romo, and DeMarco Murray, but it is possible we could do it again IN Dallas!! Right??

Dez Bryant is planning to be back for this game. You know he wants to take on Richard Sherman. I'm still not sure about this from a health perspective! But, we need him! Or someone explosive on the field!

Terrance Williams has done a fine job with the deep ball, but there were a few dropped passes and 3 interceptions in Sundays game that shows a lack of communication between the QB and WR's.

Matt Cassel started his first game for the Cowboys last week vs. The New York Giants. He threw for 227 yards with a completion rating of 63%. He did throw 3 interceptions (which will kill you in fantasy points, in this case, real life), and was forced to use McFadden when Randle went out injured.

(WR) Brice Butler and Cassel go way back... so I expect to see Butler in the game plan this week and hopefully we can minimize the number of interceptions to... zero.

Bottom Line... We continue to face more and more challenges as a team. But, we will either overcome and rise to the occasion or we will flat line and hope a 2-7 record helps is limp into the playoffs after Romo comes back in Week 11. Then, we win out? Stay optimistic!!

Injuries... Tony Romo. Lance Dunbar. Randy Gregory.

Dez Bryant is practicing this week. I say, 80% chance he plays.

Fantasy Football... Bye weeks are killin' me! ha! I needed Green Bay's D last week to pull out the W! Oh well. Injuries have already over-taken me! A lot of people picked up the NYG Running Back... Orleans Darkwa. Dude went crazy vs. Dallas last week!

GO MAVS!!!

The Regular Season started Tuesday night!! For the Mavs, it starts Wednesday night vs. the Phoenix Suns... Crazy, right? (Tyson Chandler is with the Suns now - tears... love that kid - didn't we lose Steve Nash to the Suns too??

The World Series is going on between the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals. The Texas Rangers are on vacation. The Cowboys are halfway through their season. And the Mavs have just begun their 82 game season.

After 18 years with the Dallas Mavericks... Dirk Nowitzki will start one more time! I'm not saying he's retiring after this season... but when Green Bay had Rodgers on the bench and Favre still under center... it was only a mater of time.

Not that we have anyone like Aaron Rodgers on our bench... sorry still in football mode... not like we have a Stephan Curry on our bench to be the life of our team... so, maybe that is the goal for this season? Figure out who the next kid is that will dedicate himself to this organization and this team?

Not many players are built like Dirk, Peyton Manning, Michael Jordan, Steve Young, Troy Aikman... those guys were fairly loyal, as long as the team was loyal to them.

Mark Cuban and Dirk have a great relationship, and I am confident they will do what is best for the teams future!

More to come... #Tipoff

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
