GO COWBOYS!!! 2-0 (wins - losses)
Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles - We won!!!
Y'all. Everyone is injured. Yes, we won, but it was still as chaotic as it was against the Giants in Week 1.
Injuries... to our Starters...
Quarterback - Tony Romo is out with a collarbone fracture. For probably 8 weeks. He doesn't need surgery, which is a good thing!! He had this same injury in 2010, caused by the Giants. So, he needs to be a little more careful vs. the Eagles and Giants.
Tight End - Jason Witten is probable for this week with two ankle sprains and a sprained knee. He has proven he is one of the toughest guys... EVER. He will most likely play through the pain, but if he wants to take a rest vs. the Atlanta Falcons this week, I'm okay with that.
Wide Receiver - Dez Bryant has a broken bone in his foot. He had surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks. If we go 6 weeks, the Cowboys have a BYE Week in Week 6, so technically, he's only missing 5 games at the most.
Defensive End - Randy Gregory suffered a high ankle sprain and will be back for the second half of the season.
I'd like to see them ALL come back for the Seattle Game on 11/1, but it will probably be more like 11/8, to play the Eagles, again.
Replacement QB... Brandon Weeden. You haven't seen this kid in action since 2012. He played college ball at Oklahoma State and was a baseball player for years before coming to the NFL. Most "rookie" QB's or interim QB's like throwing to Tight Ends. They are a large target that typically can gain the 10 yards you need for a first down. Witten's back-up is Gavin Escobar. We use him a lot in the Red Zone (area on the field between the 20 yard line and the goal line), so he will do just fine until Witten's ankles heal. WR's... with Dez out, Weeden will be throwing to Cole Beasley, Terrance Williams, Brice Butler, and Lucky Whitehead.
Fantasy Football... Last week I had to replace Dez... this week I have to replace Romo. Don't ever draft a QB and WR from the same team. Not good. Flacco should do the trick for the next few weeks! Come on Romo... heal up quickly!! :)

GO RANGERS!!! 80-69
1st in AL West - .537, 1 game ahead of the Houston Astros, 7 games behind the Kansas City Royals in 1st Place in the American League, but we are in 4th place in the AL
The Rangers are 30-17 since August 1st... making their climb to the top!! And having fun while doing it!
My friend, Andrea, posted this article about the team wearing their American Flag boxing shorts from Mike Napoli. This reminds me of the years with the antlers and the claw... to some degree! Either way, I'm glad they are staying true to themselves and am keeping it fun out there! They get to play a game for a living... it should be fun!! :)
Here is their upcoming schedule... go to a game!! Or save up for Playoff tickets!

So, I'm in NYC this week... more to come in the next few weeks on my love of this place... but, I got to attend the final game of the Subway Series at Citi Field. I hadn't been to a game there since it was Shea Stadium. It's a nice field, but I still like old Yankee Stadium the best! And Fenway. Nothing beats Fenway.
The Yankees rolled the Mets 11-2 and ruined Matt Harvey's first start in 12 games. He is the Met's ACE pitcher and they are trying to limit his number of throws as they approach the playoffs and after coming off Tommy John surgery.
This is the technical side of baseball that casual fans don't typically know about. His arm is being "protected" and they're trying to avoid injury. However, the Yankees know this. They not only beat the Mets 11-2, but they didn't start winning until after Harvey went out of the game.
You see... The Yankees got Harvey to 77 pitches in the 5th inning, by fouling the ball off, a lot! They kept working the pitch count and knew they could get deeper in their bullpen and beat them that way. The Mets used 7 pitchers in this game.
I'm not too excited about this, because we will play the Yankees in the playoffs... but all teams do this. They just happened to do it very well that night.
Hats off Yankees. Your strategy worked and we will see you soon!
