Over-reaction Monday Week 1 ~ Astros vs Rangers ~ MNF

GO COWBOYS!!! 1-0 (wins - losses)

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys - We won!!!

Y'all. That game wore me out. I'm a female. I'm already emotional. I can't handle too many games like that. Sheesh!

So, if you missed the game... the Cowboys played poorly. We dominated, time-wise in the first quarter, but only came up with 3-points (from a Field Goal, you get 3 points if you make a Field Goal).

Then we had a few turnovers (where we graciously give the ball to the other team, unwillingly), 4 to be exact. One of those turned into a TD for the Giants when Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie scored on Cole Beasley's fumble in the 2nd Qtr. Painful. But, we don't give up!

The 3rd Qtr was messy and let's be honest... the whole game was messy... But... WE WON! All of the players said that Romo was on the sideline, watching Eli lead his team down the field (with the clock mess-up, running and not scoring, throwing away an incomplete pass to stop the clock), and told them they were going to go out there and win! Confidence. I'll take it! I'm glad that Romo is leading these men now and has given them the confidence they need in him to take things in stride and not panic when the snap is bad... he stayed calm, found Witten, and drilled it into his hands for the four-hundreth time! (I called a Witten TD btw)!

Injuries... Dez Bryant has a broken bone in his foot and had surgery today. He will be out 4-6 weeks. If we go 6 weeks, the Cowboys have a BYE Week in Week 6, so technically, he's only missing 5 games at the most. Basically, he (and Randy Gregory, who suffered a high ankle sprain) will be back for the second half of the season. I'd like to see them back for the Seattle Game on 11/1; when we will need their energy the most! Rest up and rehab fellas, we'll need you on our race to the Super Bowl!!

Fantasy Football... I had Dez Bryant in one of my leagues. I have James Jones from Green Bay and Terrance Williams on Waivers... just a suggestion. Also, Marcus Mariota may be available in your league as a back-up QB?!?! Dude went lights out in his NFL debut!

Random Info:
A double-header for MNF is rough. Even on Central Standard Time.

I'm glad the Eagles didn't win.

That is all.

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
