COWBOYS 5-6 (wins-losses)
Thursday, November 30th
Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys (home team is second)
7:25 PM CST on NBC
When you're sitting at 5-6, tied for second place in your division with the Redskins (out of four teams), and the Philadelphia Eagles are 10-1... you ask yourself... "Is it baseball season yet?"
Just kidding.
But for real.
We’ve lost our last three games.
Common denominators in our losses...
- Ezekiel Elliott (our "star" RB) has not played, he's suspended for 3 more games.
- Sean Lee (our true "star" Linebacker - Defense) has been out with an injury (for two of the three games).
- We’ve scored less than 10 points per game.
- Our opponents have scored more than 28 points per game.
- Dak has thrown for less than 200 yards per game, and 5 interceptions total.
- We rushed for less than 112 yards in each game.
So, what do we do against the Redskins this Thursday night?
We still don't have Elliott, for another three games. Darren McFadden retired (one of our back-up Running Backs). So, we run Alfred Morris. You may want to keep in mind that Morris played for the Redskins for the first four years of his career. He should know a little bit about their play calling. And their Defense is ranked 15th in the league against the run. Slight advantage... Cowboys.
Washington's QB is Kirk Cousins. Seems like a nice guy. My Uncle likes to send us pictures of him in his jersey (this is when the trash talking begins). He has a pretty good arm, and a few good weapons to pass to. He's thrown for over 3,000 yards this season, with a 66% completion rating. Jamison Crowder (WR) and Vernon Davis (TE) are his go to guys. And for those of you that follow College Football, Terrelle Pryor Sr., the former QB at Ohio State, that converted to Wide Receiver (WR), is also in the Redskins receiving corps. But probably not for long.
Y'all. The Cowboys Offense. At this point, I could run a slant route and get us 5 yards. That's about how diverse the play calling has been. We need to be more dynamic. I enjoy seeing guys like Terrance Williams get physical and make a few big plays a game. Dez still has more total yards, but he's been targeted 103 times and has 53 catches, 51% completion rating. Williams has 39 catches with 55 targets, 71% completion rating. I'm all about efficiency. Pass the ball to Williams! Go big or go home!
And as for the Cowboys Defense. Since Sean Lee is still out with a hamstring injury. And we haven't seen what we expected from our Secondary. However, we should be able to contain the Redskins offense. Should is the key word here. But either way you look at it, we can't rely on Sean Lee every season. The life and death of our defense seems to fall on this guy. Too much pressure for any one player, and not smart from a drafting/coaching perspective. Especially in a sport that is prone to serious injury.
Do I think the Cowboys will win this game? Well, I just looked at the injury list for both teams, and the Redskins is longer than the Cowboys. And we have cool uniforms this week. So sure, why not...
Cowboys win, 12-14
GO COWBOYS!!!

They were talking on 105.3 The Fan about how the Mavs should go ahead and throw this season to get better draft picks next year.
And I thought I was harsh on the Cowboys.
Bottom line with the Mavs right now is they are still figuring it out. And, sports is entertainment. Which is why I keep encouraging you to just go to a game, and have fun! We have great players! And we keep losing by less than 10 points.
Let's figure out how to win!!! Set the picket fence, and "don't get caught watching the paint dry!!"

Random Info
Tiger Woods is playing his first competitive golf tournament this weekend, since his multiple back surgeries.
Thursday is the big day! He will tee off, and the strokes will count!
It is crazy to think that Spieth and Thomas have never played with Tiger. It would be like dudes who go to play with Jordan when he went to the Washington Wizards.
I grew up watching the black pants and red shirt play on Sundays, usually for the win. But I must admit, I've thoroughly enjoyed the years without Tiger too. I like seeing different guys win, and the entire field be more competitive.
It's all good for the game of golf! And playing is a great way to get outside for four hours, or five, if you play with me.
Happy Watching!!
