This will be the shortest blog, ever.
I'm headed to NYC, and am not taking my laptop with me.

COWBOYS 5-3 (wins-losses)
Sunday, November 12th
Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons (home team is second)
3:25 PM CST on FOX

The Cowboys are going to Atalanta on Sunday.

They are coming off three straight wins against the 49ers, Redskins and Chiefs.

Can we beat the Falcons?

Matt Ryan and team? The guys who lost to Tom Brady in the Super Bowl last year?

Well, as much as I like Matt Ryan, and his team. I don't think they will beat the Cowboys.

Comparison... play by play...

Matt Ryan (their QB) has thrown for more yards (2,157 vs. 1,181), but Dak (our QB) has more TD passes (4 vs. 1).

Elliott (our hopefully not suspended yet RB) can out-run Freeman (their RB), any day.

Julio Jones (their #1 WR) has 5 more receptions than Dez (our #1ish WR), and has 219 more yards. Now that is productivity!! But, if you're a fantasy owner, or any real team owner, you want the guy to score TD's. That is where Atlanta isn't the same as last year. They have the yards, but they are not converting (scoring on their drives - a drive is when they move the ball down the field, first down, after first down, then TOUCHDOWN - that's the goal). Advantage Cowboys.

Dallas' D - this was one of my best BYE week pickups in fantasy! If they're still available in your league(s) - get them! I don't see these guys slowing down, even with injuries plaguing them. It's like Rod Marinelli light a fire under these guys. I like what I see. And I see them shutting down Matt Ryan and his passing game.

The main risk for the Cowboys is if Elliott doesn't play. His back-ups are Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden. Between these two guys, we should be able to take on the Atlanta D, ranked 18th in the league against the run.

If Dak can continue to keep Beasley, Witten and Williams involved... we will be in position to out-score the 2nd place team from last year! Block, Witten, Block!
Cowboys WIN, 28-17
GO COWBOYS!!!

**Check your phone Thursday evening to see if Elliott will play. Or sign up for ESPN Cowboys Suspension alerts. No, there's no such thing, but their should be.

GO MAVS!!! 2-10 (wins - losses)
After six losses... we WON a game!!

We beat the Washington Wizards 113-99!

Harrison Barnes had 31 points and 9 rebounds. Dennis Smith Jr. had 22 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and another intense slam dunk. I've got to go see this kid play!!

Here's the upcoming schedule! If you find yourself in Dallas around the holidays, it's fun to go to a basketball game during this time! They make things festive!! Or you could hit up a Stars game... they're all at the AAC.

Random Info
I hadn't watched this movie in a while... Serendipity.

I don't agree with the entire theory, but the movie has a lot of great scenes of New York City and Central Park. One of my favorite places on earth.

If you haven't been to NYC in a long time or ever, go. Don't be afraid of the city! Just go and enjoy the vastness that it is!

I highly recommend the Fall/early Winter or Spring. The Summer, in the city, can be brutal. It is a concrete island.

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Dallas Mavs ~ Texas Rangers ~ Thoughts on the Super Bowl ~ Dallas is Freezing

Dallas  Mavericks 13-14 (wins-losses) I feel like we've been on a rollercoaster with the Mavs, but I like the direction we're going now. As for how NBA and NFL players feel about our cold weather... that's a funnier story. The Mavs longest stretch of losses was six games in mid-January. It was not fun and the team looked confused as to why they couldn't pull out a win.  A few guys have been out, off and on, due to illness or injury, but now they're all back and are rolling. Especially Kristaps Porzingis .  They keep joking that he's playing how he did back in September 2020 when they were in the NBA bubble, before his knee injury. Now that he has healed and is playing more minutes per game, he has been on fire! To see a 7'3" guy drain 3 pointers like he does is amazing. I mean, if he raises his arms, they're already above the rim, so he just has to put the right arc on it and swish. So cool!  His stats vs. the Pelicans in Friday night's victory:...

The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...
