Dallas Cowboys Week 12 ~ Mavs 3rd in the West ~ Sorry, Not Sorry

GO COWBOYS!!! 7-3

WEEK 12 - Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants
(remember, the second team is at HOME)
Game Time: Sunday, November 23 7:30 PM (CST)

Stats for the Dallas Cowboys after 10 weeks of football
~ 17th in Overall Passing Yards (when the QB throws and a dude catches it)
~ 2nd in Overall Rushing Yards (thank you DeMarco Murray, Randal and Dunbar)
~ 14th Ranked Defense against the passing game
~ 13th Ranked Defense against the run game

So, we're playing the New York Giants this week in NYC! We played them in Week 7 this year and won 31-21. That game was in Dallas and the Giants have had a lot of injuries to players throughout this season. Dallas has too, and after our BYE week last week, most of our guys are back and healthy.

I know most of you really only care if Tony Romo is healthy, and he is as good as he's going to be with 6 weeks of ball left to play. He says he's fine and can keep playing, so lets just pray nothing serious happens to him and we're able to make a run into the Playoffs, with a victory dance in Arizona. (Arizona is where the Super Bowl is this year... the Big Enchilada... the Holy Grail in football)

Bonus: DeMarco Murray will have a monster game against the Giants. Their Defense ranks last in the NFL against the run. So, having Murray run over 100 yards should help take a little pressure off Romo. The only concern is our O-Line. Most of our guys are back in the line-up and should be good to go!

The New York Giants. Their QB, Eli Manning, hasn't had the best season. If you saw his brother Peyton play last week, that's how Eli's entire season has gone. Don't feel too sorry for him, he has two Super Bowl rings. But, their team is a bit banged up and doesn't seem like major competition this week. However, as we learned in Week 8, when the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Washington Redskins 20-17 in OT (overtime), the rivalry of a conference opponent poses some concern.

Upside... The Cowboys journeyed back from their Holiday in London, had a few days off, and should be more than prepared for any attack Coughlin and his staff could come up with.

Bottom Line: Murray runs for 145 yards. Romo throws for over 300 yards. Dez has two TD's. Witten has one. Murray has one. Giants go down. #slingshot

**Did any of you see Jimmy Fallon this week, where he does Superlatives?? It was players from the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys... watch this video! My favorite is Charles Barkley in a spoon! Ohhh... can't stop laughing!**

GO MAVS!!! 10-3

Ummm yea, we're currently ranked 3rd in the Western Conference right now. We're only 13 games into an 82 game season, but we'll take it!

We beat the Lakers last night, 140-106. Talk about it! Kobe Bryant who? Dirk had 23 points, then sat the entire 4th Qtr. (there are 4 Qtr's in Basketball, like in football, which makes it easier

Parsons had 20 points and Ellis had a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists.

**What is a double-double?? When a player scores in double digits in two or more categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocked shots - in one game.**

The Mavs play the Houston Rockets tonight... they're 9-3, so it would be nice to beat them and drive them down in the rankings! Parsons came to the Mavericks from Houston... 7:00 PM tonight - you can see the reunion.

Random Info:
Sorry?? Not Sorry??

How many times a day to you say "sorry?"

A friend of mine recently challenged me, and a few other friends, to not say "sorry" as much.

This is not the first time this has come up. My best friend and I have tried to work on not saying this for years, but it's become a filler type word for me.

For example

~ When I play golf with people I don't know. I am already overcompensating for my D player status and 20 HCP, so appropriately after a good or bad swing, I apologize. "SORRY" - This is my way of saying, I know I suck, I haven't taken time to practice like I should, but thank you for playing with me anyway.

~ When someone runs into me at Starbucks and it's clearly their fault, but my coffee is all over me, I say... "I'M SO SORRY" - Which means, I don't have cat-like reflexes to jump out of your way, and because I don't know what to say or don't want you mad at me I'm going to apologize because... I don't know?!?! Bye! Smile! Happy Face! :)

~ I'm a female. And when a female is crying... it is just what it is. We don't always know why we're crying, or we do and don't want to tell you because it's silly and we're trying to figure out why we're crying so we just apologize a lot... "I'm sorry, I'll stop crying... sorry, sorry... I'm sorry" - This just means, we're emotional beings and we need a moment to figure it out. So maybe we should just say "hold please" or "trying to figure it out over here" - ha! But you can still hug us, we don't bite!

So, with all of this randomness, it is the title of this section, I challenge you to figure out why you say sorry too much or maybe not enough? It should be used more appropriately and not just as an excuse or filler word.

~smile~

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...

Week 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings ~ NFC East ~ NFL logo quiz

GO COWBOYS!!! 10-1 1st in the NFL 1st in the NFC EAST Thursday, December 1st 7:25 PM CST on NBC We've NEVER won 10 consecutive games. Ever.  We lost our first game of the season to the New York Giants, by one point. And oddly enough, they are still the ghost we're trying to run away from and secure our playoff spot with only 5 Regular Season games left.  Here is what the NFC East looks like going into Week 13...  The Minnesota Vikings... what should we fear?  The Vikings are in the NFC North Division. They currently trail the Detroit Lions for a spot in the playoffs. They have only won 1 of their last 5 games, which makes this Thursday night, showtime game, a must win for the Vikings!  4-1 at home, The Vikings meet the Cowboys who are 5-0 on the road. Oh how I love those odds! Forever in our favor this season.  Quarterback situation. Sam Bradford is the starting QB for the Vikings. A guy they got in the o...
