Cowboys Bye Week ~ Mavs ~ Rangers ~ Dude Perfect

GO COWBOYS!!! 7-3

WEEK 11 - BYE WEEK - NO FOOTBALL THIS SUNDAY FOR THE DALLAS COWBOYS

(this means you don't have to rush home on Sunday - you can go shopping - clean the house - start decorating for Christmas... yes, I said it, on November 13th)

Every team in the NFL gets one week off. So, the season is actually 17 weeks long, but each team only plays 16 games. This gives teams time to heal, regroup and game plan. Luck for us, our BYE week came when our QB has two fractures in his back and could use a little R&R!

Can we just take a moment and celebrate??

The Dallas Cowboys haven't been 7-3 (a winning record) since 2011. That may not seem too long ago, but we didn't make the playoffs that year and had a dismal back-half of a season.

Will that happen this year? No. Remember, I'm saving up for my Super Bowl ticket.

3 Reasons Why We Will Keep Winning

1) We have Zack Martin, and an Offensive Line to protect Tony Romo, who has a solid receiving corps that can make big plays. Dez Bryant. Terrance Williams. Jason Witten. Gavin Escobar. And yes, Tony Romo, is tough as nails. I am seriously praying he gets healthy, as much as possible, in the next few days!

2) We have a run game in DeMarco Murray. In order for Murray to stay healthy, you may see more of these back-up running backs... Lance Dunbar (Mean Green, Caw, Caw) and Joseph Randle. Murray will still be our main go to and the guy who will help Romo stay balanced!

3) We finally have a Coaching Staff who is making the right calls, and have coached the team well enough to execute those calls. Rod Marinelli gets mad props for making our nothing of a Defense into something! I hope to see even more speed and aggressiveness from the D when we get into the last 6 games of the season.

Can you believe it? Only 6 games left. So sad. I wish Football Season was all year long. But then I wouldn't have a social life or enjoy Fall so much. So, we'll leave it as it is.

GO MAVS!!! 6-3

The Mavs are beating the Philadelphia 76ers in an embarrassing fashion. I actually can't watch anymore. I feel badly for the 76ers! However, they are a Philly team, so I shouldn't feel too bad.

Did y'all see that Dirk Nowitzki became the highest leading scorer in the NBA that isn't from the United States? He surpassed Hakeem Olajuwon and talked about him in this article. He said he tried to replicate Olajuwon's dream shot! Kind of crazy to think that Dirk would replicate anyone. He seems so original and is original, as far as I'm concerned. He is now the 9th leading scorer in the NBA.

GO RANGERS!!!

Don't worry... baseball isn't starting just yet, but there are a lot of trade rumors and some contracts to be signed.

Should we trade Elvis Andrus? He didn't have a great batting average last year, but he's still an important part of our team. Here's a good article if you want to read more.

Also, Jon Daniels just signed a new contract. So, if you thought he was ever going away, he's not.

Random Info:
I really enjoy using the word Dude. I know it's not super professional or anything, but it's just chill and fun to say!

Which totally makes watching the guys who call themselves "Dude Perfect" way more fun!!

They do all of these trick shots and fun stuff with basketballs, footballs and now with a bow and arrow!

Watch this short video! It's awesome!!

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
