Dallas Cowboys in London ~ Mavs ~ Friends

GO COWBOYS!!! 6-3

WEEK 10 - Dallas Cowboys vs Jacksonville Jaguars
(remember, the second team is at HOME)
Game Time: Sunday, November 9 12:00 PM (CST)

London... England... yup, we're there.

The NFL has been trying to get more publicity in England since 2007. There are four regular season NFL games this year in London's Wembley Stadium, which is the largest in the UK. This stadium was designed for football, or shall I say, fútbol. We all know soccer is "football" in an International context... it's only us Americans who are obsessed with pigskin.

Do you know what pork rinds are? I learned what they are on a recent girls trip to South Carolina... interesting.

So, the game, eh? (kidding that's Canadian

Tony to the Romo... well, this dude. He made the trip to London. Good times. I hope he flew first class where you get to lay down and sleep. I've never done that, but I've seen it in movies. I saw a live interview with him this morning from London, and he looked a little rusty. Like the Tin Man, in Wizard of Oz, before they find the oil can. Okay, he didn't look that bad, but I secretly hope he doesn't play.

You see, the Cowboys have a BYE week next week. Which means, they get a week off! Their next game after this London exhibition will be on Sunday, Nov 23 vs the New York Giants. So, Romo could have this week, and the next two weeks to heal up and get back for the 23rd game, the Playoffs and the Super Bowl victory in Arizona.

***Herm Edwards said on SC today that the Dallas Cowboys are 17-1 when DeMarco Murray runs 20 or more times in a game. Feed the Horse!***

Jacksonville has a 1-8 record in the AFC. (We're in the NFC - National League - the AFC is the American League) However, they are tied for 3rd in the NFL for sacks on a QB, with 27 sacks. Now, their overall defense isn't so hot. They're ranked like 30 out of 32 teams, which means... RUN THE BALL! Their QB is a rookie, drafted this past year, so they still have a lot of learning to do. Next year kid, next year!

Bottom Line: If the O-Line can protect the run game, with Weeden or Romo, we should and will dominate this game. DeMarco Murray and the O-Line can save the day! Jacksonville played in London last year, but that is the only advantage they have over us. As for our Defense, just keep your head in the game. No stupid penalties, and protect Dan Bailey on Special Teams. Veterans... Jason Witten... dude will still be the go to if Weeden is in. Dez Bryant needs a catch in the first quarter... simply so we don't have to hear them talk about how he hasn't had a catch in the first quarter, or the second, or the third.

We believe that we will win! :)

GO MAVS!!! 3-1

Yea, we beat the Boston Boys!!! Celtics went down... :)

The game wasn't so pretty... Rondo was Rondo, but our guys need to mesh a little more. The 4th quarter was a little rocky, but they will figure it out. Give them another month and they'll be doing no look passes, one handed half court shots and a little "Dude Perfect" stuff.

I must say, it is nice to have Tyson Chandler back. And Dirk is doing his thing, averaging 20.8 points per game (PPG).

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Dallas Mavs ~ Texas Rangers ~ Thoughts on the Super Bowl ~ Dallas is Freezing

Dallas  Mavericks 13-14 (wins-losses) I feel like we've been on a rollercoaster with the Mavs, but I like the direction we're going now. As for how NBA and NFL players feel about our cold weather... that's a funnier story. The Mavs longest stretch of losses was six games in mid-January. It was not fun and the team looked confused as to why they couldn't pull out a win.  A few guys have been out, off and on, due to illness or injury, but now they're all back and are rolling. Especially Kristaps Porzingis .  They keep joking that he's playing how he did back in September 2020 when they were in the NBA bubble, before his knee injury. Now that he has healed and is playing more minutes per game, he has been on fire! To see a 7'3" guy drain 3 pointers like he does is amazing. I mean, if he raises his arms, they're already above the rim, so he just has to put the right arc on it and swish. So cool!  His stats vs. the Pelicans in Friday night's victory:...

The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...
