Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day ~ Mavs ~ College Football

GO COWBOYS!!! 8-3

WEEK 13 - Philadelphia Eagles vs Dallas Cowboys
(remember, the second team is at HOME)
Game Time: Turkey Day, November 27 3:30 PM (CST)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

This is the week where we give thanks for many things... and it's the first time, in my adult life, that I can give thanks for the Dallas Cowboys being 8-3!!!

The game last week, against the New York Giants, was amazing!! Had a stellar performance from our Offensive Line! Tony Romo played great and looked healthier since the hit he took 4 weeks ago. Murray got the job done on the ground, with a little help from Dunbar, and Cole Beasley scored a TD. Dez was Dez, the Jay Z stuff is weird, but whatever, he's a beast on the field.

And please tell me you all saw the most athletic catch you'll ever see in your life?!?! Odell Beckham Jr. made the most insane catch! Watch. I applauded him at my TV.

This weeks game...

We play the Eagles. Nothing to be happy about, especially since they're also in the NFC East Division (as are the Giants, we just beat, and the Redskins, that beat us), and have a 8-3 record. Why are we tied with them? Because we haven't played them yet to beat them. That will happen Thursday.

This is my least favorite team in sports. Yes, I have friends who are Philly fans, but we talked about everything except the Eagles. They don't like us either, which makes no sense. We're nice.

Mark Sanchez is their QB now, pretty boy. He used to play for the New York Jets, and played college ball at USC. They have LeSean McCoy, their Running Back, who has over 800 yards this season and 3 TD's. And, they have Jeremy Maclin (WR), who has 980 yards and 9 TD's.

**I promised myself my first year playing Fantasy Football that I would never draft a player from the Eagles, and never have. But, it's tempting with this kid and when they had DeSean Jackson** #stillnotworthit

Their D is pretty good against the run game, so you'll see Murray have a little trouble with coverage. However, the way our O-Line played last week... move... get out the way!! All day baby, all day!

Romo can run rule these kids in the passing game. They rank 30th in the NFL (32 teams) against the passing game! Yea. I think Terrance Williams gets a piece of the TD pie this week (if his finger is healed).

Bottom Line: This game is at home, on Thanksgiving Day... which in the history of Turkey games played in Dallas (since 1966), they're 29-16, with one tie. The odds are in our favor!! The stadium will be packed, and even with the short week; I believe our team will be ready!

Cowboys beat Philly, 34-28.

GO MAVS!!! 10-5

So, after our victory over the Lakers, we've suffered two straight losses to the Houston Rockets and the Indiana Pacers. For real. Dirk can't do it all, so hopefully the rest of the team picks it back up!

Keep in mind, the NBA gets really good after the Super Bowl (mid-February)!

Random Info:
College Football is nearing it's end, only 3 weeks left... and this is the first year for the College Football Playoffs!!! Woohooo! They're in Dallas, at Jerry World, of course.

This weekend is huge for NFL rivalries and NCAA football rivalries! Check out the schedule here. I don't even want to think about football ending.

Alabama is currently ranked #1. This can't happen again. Getting so old. We need Auburn to defeat them!! They couldn't win in the Championship game last year against Florida State, so maybe they'll come with a vengeance against their rival!! Go Tigers!

***************

Have a splendid week with your families. I hope you do a lot of laughing, game playing, eating and sports watching/playing! A well rounded Thanksgiving!! And remember to be more thankful every day! We waste so much time worrying and complaining, when none of that adds an hour to our lives! But, thankfulness, breathes life and more joy into everything we do!! :)

Don't worry, Be happy!!

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
