Everything Dallas Cowboys Week 5

GO COWBOYS!!!

WEEK 5 - Houston Texans vs Dallas Cowboys
(remember, the second team is at HOME)
Game Time: Sunday, Oct 5 - 12:00 PM (CST)

Did you watch the game last week??? Please tell me you did!!

If you're too young to know what it was like to cheer for the Dallas Cowboys in the early 90's... this is a glimmer of what that felt like. Glimmer. We've won 3 games in a row! Life-changing for Cowboys fans!! And now Saints fans know how we've felt for years!!

The Cowboys run ruled the Saints... 38-17! I love Drew Brees, but it was a hard game to watch!

Tony Romo, on the other hand, was so much more mobile and confident!! He has gotten better every game, which is hopeful for us as fans! Maybe he'll have a break-out year like Peyton Manning did last year after his neck surgery, which no one thought he would come back from? Either way, I think laying off his golf game and focusing on football is working out well for Romo! Props, Sir!

This week... vs the Houston Texans...

~ Have you heard the name J.J. Watt before? If you read this blog, you have. He's quite possibly the best Defensive player in the league! We've all oooo'd and awwww'd over Richard Sherman, Clay Matthews, Ray Lewis... but J.J. may be in a league of his own. Dude isn't just fast, but strong. He will do everything in his power to break up our passing game, get to Romo and try to sack him, and stop DeMarco Murray. He's a tornado of defense.

Can we stop him?

~ Can I get an Amen for our Offensive Line?? Talk about it! Finally... big dudes up front that are blocking like mad men and giving Romo time to throw! Brilliant. Doug Free. Zach Martin. Ronald Leary. Travis Frederick. Watch what these guys did to honor our late Coach, and one of the greatest ever, Tom Landry

~ Dallas Defense... We lost Morris Claiborne to an injury last week. It's what you get for pouting. Bruce Carter, our Defensive Linebacker is day to day with a quad injury. We need him back, he was a beast against the Rams with 12 tackles, an interception and a TD.

Bottom Line: Balanced Offense. Strong Defense. This is what we're working towards. Romo and Murray tag teaming. Jason Witten finally had more of a role in Week 4, this is a great thing and we need him against the Texans! Blocking, running, everything! Stay healthy! We have too many guys going down early with injuries. Let's Gatorade up boys... stay hydrated... do yoga and ride the bike on the sidelines! (Talking as though I've ever played that hard in my life. ha!)

Cowboys on 3... 1, 2, 3... COWBOYS

Random Info:
There's so much negative press out there. Surrounding the NFL, its players, and just life in general...

Here are some dudes that are trying to make a difference...

The NFL decided that to support a player, Devon Still, whose daughter is fighting cancer... they are donating ALL proceeds of his jersey sales to Cincinnati Children's Hospital of Cancer Research. Also accepting Cash donations to support her fight! Read more here

And Jim Kelly, great Buffalo Bills QB, is surviving his fight against jaw cancer. You can read his story or follow him on Twitter #kellystrong

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...

Week 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings ~ NFC East ~ NFL logo quiz

GO COWBOYS!!! 10-1 1st in the NFL 1st in the NFC EAST Thursday, December 1st 7:25 PM CST on NBC We've NEVER won 10 consecutive games. Ever.  We lost our first game of the season to the New York Giants, by one point. And oddly enough, they are still the ghost we're trying to run away from and secure our playoff spot with only 5 Regular Season games left.  Here is what the NFC East looks like going into Week 13...  The Minnesota Vikings... what should we fear?  The Vikings are in the NFC North Division. They currently trail the Detroit Lions for a spot in the playoffs. They have only won 1 of their last 5 games, which makes this Thursday night, showtime game, a must win for the Vikings!  4-1 at home, The Vikings meet the Cowboys who are 5-0 on the road. Oh how I love those odds! Forever in our favor this season.  Quarterback situation. Sam Bradford is the starting QB for the Vikings. A guy they got in the o...
