GO COWBOYS!!! 4-1
WEEK 6 - Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks
(remember, the second team is at HOME)
Game Time: Sunday, Oct 12 - 3:25 PM (CST)
So, I didn't get to watch the game live last week. I was on a girls trip and sacrificed live sports for my friends. Yes, they mean that much to me!
Since I don't believe in recording live sports, I had to watch highlights on the internet. And I'm happy to say, the Cowboys did just as I wanted them to do. Finally, they're listening to me.
We haven't been 4-1 since 2008. 4 wins. 1 loss. That's amazing for the Dallas Cowboys! 77% of teams that start 4-1 make the postseason!! PLAYOFFS!!!
Against the Houston Texans, Romo threw for 324 yards, 2 TD's and one interception. Dude is on a roll and doesn't look like his back is hurting him at all! We can handle the one interception a game if he keeps throwing up the yards he is! And he was able to shut-down JJ Watt and company! Game on!
Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams have both had at least 1 Touchdown each of the last 3 games! They're beating "coverage" and have had a great connection with Romo this season! Plus, Dez is just a beast. Watch his amazing catch from last week. It's like he was trying to be David Tyree with an over the defender catch in the New York Giants game to win the Super Bowl in 2008. ("coverage" - that means the defense - they're beating the defensive guys who are covering them)
The shocking event from last week was, aside from us winning and our Defense doing an outstanding job, Dan Bailey, our kicker who is 90.9% accurate missed his first field goal in 30 attempts. He was able to win it for us in over-time, but could have won it in regulation, had he not missed the kick. We'll let it slide Dan. No one is perfect!
This week, we go against Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman and the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson is one of the top performing QB's in the NFL. Sherman is still a fearsome defender who plans to destroy Dez Bryant. Can we outsmart them? Can we beat them at their own game? Their Stadium alone, Century Link Field, is known for the sheer volume they are able to produce as a fan base to distract their opponent, so they can't hear their QB call plays. We will have to bring our A game... A+ game!
Bottom Line: Garrett (our head coach) has mentioned limiting DeMarco Murray and his running game. They want to make him "last longer" - but let's be honest we need him. We need him NOW. Not in 10 years. He is working on a contract this year, but I hope that doesn't get in the way of Romo relying on his top Running Back. Romo also needs his WR's to break free from P. Sherman and his regime. They did it against J.J. Watt and the Texans last week, but this will be our most challenging test yet. Our Defense also has their hands full with Wilson, Baldwin, Harvin and Marshawn Lynch. Ugh, a beast. Their Running Back. This will be a battle folks.
Get your jersey's on... we have a game to win!
p.s. Derek Jeter started a website called The Players Tribune. Russell Wilson posted an article on there the other day about domestic violence, read on. It's a cool platform for Athletes to blog, first person.

GO MAVS!!!
It's officially Basketball Season.
Don't freak out. You don't have to start watching yet. The real season doesn't start until December, but if you want to get a sneak peak at how awesome our team is this year... here's the pre-season schedule.
Dirk is still recovering from his hip injury, but he'll be back soon. Don't worry!
Random Info:
So, every now and then, it's time to just take a hiatus from some things in life.
I enjoy shopping. Clothes and shoes mainly, but lately jewelry has started to creep into the scene. So, due to travel, shopping, shopping while traveling, I am doing my shopping fast again.
I made it three months last year without buying anything for myself. Not easy. At all. But, it forced me to make outfits out of my closet that is full of clothes, and I'm pretty sure I could avoid shopping for a year and be fine.
I know not everyone enjoys shopping for clothes as much as I do, but maybe it would be fun to try taking a break from something, and seeing if you can go without it?!?! Just a little life challenge. Gain some perspective, save some money and reset your priorities. Win, win!
p.s. It's been a Frank Sinatra kind of day. Love some Sinatra. Enjoy... and listen.
