Dallas Cowboys Week 7 ~ YOUR VOTE COUNTS

GO COWBOYS!!! 5-1

WEEK 7 - New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys
(remember, the second team is at HOME)
Game Time: Sunday, Oct 19 - 3:25 PM (CST)

Okay, since I already wrote a love-fest post about our win last week against the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks... this post will be fairly short.

~ Tony Romo (our QB) and DeMarco Murray (our RB), sat out of practice Wednesday. Romo has done this all year, which seems to be his sabbatical. The way he is playing, he can take off every Wednesday for the rest of the season. You won't hear complaints from me. If this proves to be a much needed "day of rest" for our workhorse, Murray, fine by me!! Do what you have to do to stay healthy physically and mentally fellas!

There has been some negative news surrounding a certain 3rd string running back for the Cowboys, Joseph Randle. I don't want to give credit to negative media or circumstances, so all I am going to say is, get your head in the game. Not just football but in life too. Hopefully good comes out of this!

Injuries... Doug Free is out for a few weeks with a foot injury. Tears, only because our Offensive Line has been on a roll and blocking so well for Romo and Murray. Jeremy Parnell is the fella who will be replacing Free. He slotted into the game nicely against the Seahawks after Free was injured. If you're at the game this weekend, cheer for this dude!

The NEW YORK GIANTS. As you know, I used to live in NYC. I attended only one Cowboys vs Giants game in the Meadowlands. Not the best experience. I can handle Yankees fans way better than Giants fans. Good thing this game is in Dallas! And, the Giants are terrible this year. You know how the Rangers were injury prone this year and unraveled game by game. That is the Giants. They lost their number one WR, Victor Cruz, to a knee injury Sunday. Their Offense and Defense have been subpar, even with Cruz in the game. Their QB is Eli Manning, Peyton's little brother. (Peyton Manning - the QB for the Denver Broncos. Revolutionized football for the Indianapolis Colts for 14 years. Yeah, that guy.)

Bottom Line: Dallas is going to win. How big? I predict 34-17. But that's just me being confident in the way our Defense has been playing, as well as our power offense! The Giants are an NFC East Division rival. That always makes things a little more interesting, but I still think we will dominate. It is finally fun again to watch The Boys play on Sundays!! :)

Fun Facts: If DeMarco Murray were his own NFL team, he would rank 4th in the league. The Dallas Cowboys are 1st in Rushing Yards in the NFL. Rolando McClain retired twice from the NFL, came back and now has two interceptions for our defense this season. Comeback Kid McClain.

GO MAVS!!!

It's officially Basketball Season.

Don't freak out. You don't have to start watching yet. The real season doesn't start until December, but if you want to get a sneak peak at how awesome our team is this year... here's the pre-season schedule

GO RANGERS!!!

The Rangers are not playing baseball right now. Don't worry, it's the off-season. But, I did want you to know we hired a new Manager to replace Ron Washington. Here's a short interview with Jeff Banister on Ben and Skin. Seems like a nice and humble guy! I still miss Nolan Ryan.

Random Info:
VOTE!! Elections are on November 4th. But, you can VOTE EARLY. Early Voting starts on October 20th. This Monday. Click here to find a place for Early Voting.

I'm not trying to be political here, but I am trying to remind you that it is a privilege to vote. If you know anything about the history of our country, it is an honor to vote, and something many people groups had to fight for the privilege to do so! Do not waste this right you have as an American citizen.

Nowadays, it is an inconvenience to most. They are apathetic and don't want to put forth the effort to impact their community and nation in this way.

I understand why, politics is messy and most politicians seem to be in this "industry" for personal gain instead of the best interest of their people. But, you have to still try. Despite all of the high school banter that happens between candidates, you have to do your research and make the best selections you can, for you, and the beliefs you have.

Here is a list of all candidates, their name will link to their website where you can read more.

If you choose not to vote on November 4th or through Early Voting, please do not complain about gas prices, government spending, taxes, school districts, etc. This is what voting impacts. Our daily lives, the lives of your children, and the lives of others.

I heard on Jimmy Fallon last week that only 3.4% of all Americans will vote in the November 4th elections. This may be or not be accurate, but it didn't sound too shocking to me. Which is sad.

Here are a few more resources to help make this less painful for you. And remember to vote for ALL positions. I don't care if you do straight ticket, but if you only vote for Governor, you leave the other positions blank, and the opponent is getting the votes of a straight ticket voter.

So, take in a list of people to vote for from the research you do, and VOTE as a proud American!!!

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto. ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Week 2: New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ UNT beat Arkansas ~ Scooter Magruder

GO Cowboys!!! 0-1 (wins ~ losses) New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ( away team ~ home team ) Sunday, September 16 @ 7:20 PM CST on NBC If you watched the game last week, where we lost to the Carolina Panthers, you have most likely decided to stop watching the rest of the season. It was a rough game. And it makes a lot of people think that first string players should get more reps during pre-season games so your Week 1 game isn't a scrimmage. So, during the " scrimmage ," that was a regular season game, Dak matched Cam Newton ( Carolina's QB ) in passing yards and was pretty close in accuracy. So where did Carolina win? Aside from wearing out our Defense... Newton had 13 carries for 58 rushing yards, allowing him to score one of their two TD's ( touchdowns ). Zeke ( our RB, running back ) had 15 carries for 69 rushing yards and one TD. Carolina out played us in the run game because they're not afraid to allow their QB to run. They converted more 1st ...
