GO COWBOYS!!! 5-1
THE DALLAS COWBOYS BEAT THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS!!!! 30-23
Y'all!!! We are tied with the San Diego Chargers for first in the LEAGUE!!!! Not just the NFC East... but the entire NFL!!! And we jumped ahead by defeating the Super Bowl Champions from last year! (Philly has the chance to tie us by beating the Giants tonight. But we'll destroy Philly down the road!)
I couldn't wait until mid-week to blog about it. I'm so excited! Our Offensive line is not only giving Romo time to throw, but they're getting physical out there! And blocking correctly so DeMarco Murray can run through the line and break away down the field. I don't know if Emmitt ever had holes as big as Murray does?!?!
So, Romo isn't getting hit as much and he doesn't have to make poor throwing decisions with a run game like he now has! Win, win for Romo!! Keep praying his back holds up!! He took a nasty hit at the beginning of this game and we don't want him to get hurt. For himself or for the team!
DeMarco Murray... he tied Jim Brown's record for having over 100 plus yards in his first 6 games in the NFL. If he gets 100+ yards in next weeks game against the New York Giants... he will hold the record.
Jason Witten... our Tight End. He always has amazing blocks for all of our running backs, but today, he had his 900th career reception which was his first Touchdown of the Season. So, two weeks ago, I said we had to get Witten back in the offensive game... it is working folks and Romo is finding ways to get to him! They do appear to be best friends, so this is great that they're connecting again on the field!
Dez Bryant... y'all... this dude looked almost humbled to go up against Richard P. Sherman. The great defender on the Seattle Seahawks I told you about last week. Dez beat him on many occasions and even Murray scored a TD with Sherman on his back. But, at the end of the game, the boys pounded it out and acknowledged each others greatness.
Now, Terrance Williams... if you watch one highlight from the game... watch this.
Dan Bailey... our kicker... he missed one field goal last week, but went out there today and made three field goals. When he kicked a field goal from 42 yards away and made it, he became the most accurate field goal kicker in NFL history. 100 for 110 field goals in his career. Crazy!! We needed this guy in the years past to simply stay afloat in games. Now, he's just icing on the cake!
Seriously y'all. There's a lot of y'all going on in this post because I'm just so excited! So much history was made today!!! I'm glad I never caved and became a Kansas City Chiefs fans like some dudes did and talked about it on Ben and Skin. I'm so glad I never put a paper bag over my head and wished myself back to the early 1990's. I'm glad I've stuck with my team and am now seeing them play as a TEAM!
Last thing... Dallas Defense and Special Teams. (Special Teams are the guys who do kick off, punt returns and field goals.) They limited Russell Wilson, the Seattle QB, to just 126 passing yards, and held Marshawn Lynch, their main Running Back, to just 10 carries for 61 yards total. Rolando McClain intercepted Wilson's last pass to try to win the game for Seattle! Our guys blocked punts and were all over the place. I'm shocked, but glad our Defense looks like a DEFENSE!

Random Info:
If you haven't already planned your weekends around watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, I suggest you start. Make it a family event! Open the windows and play a football in your front yard during half-time!
Here are healthy game day meal ideas... and of course you can always look some up on Pinterest! You don't want to have to foodie remorse when Monday rolls around and you get back into your workout routine!
Shopping tip: if you're a lady and want a Cowboys Jersey... try the kids dept first. They usually go up to a kids XL or XXL and the jersey's are cheaper! :)
p.s. I'm starting to save for my Super Bowl ticket. If the Cowboys make if for the first time since 1995... I will be there! (if I can afford it)
~smile~
