Overreaction Monday Week 1 ~ Ron Washington ~ Derek Jeter Day

GO COWBOYS!!!

WEEK 1 - Dallas lost to San Fransisco 28-17
Record 0-1 (wins are the first number, losses are clearly the second)

That score may not look as bad as it felt. If you watched the game, you saw this, but here are a few stats...

~ Tony Romo (QB - quarterback), threw 281 yards, but had 3 interceptions and only 1 touchdown. He didn't seem to be in pain (his bad back), so he either had a hard time playing his first full game since surgery, or his WR's just can't get on the same page. Either way, they need to figure it out!

~ Dez Bryant (WR - Wide Receiver), left the game due to dehydration. Who are you, LeBron James? Is this the NBA Finals? Dude, drink pedialyte and get in the game. Devin Street did a good job filling in while Dez was on a break. Terrance Williams scored our only passing TD (touchdown). Devin Harris had a decent punt return, but dropped a few passes from Romo. Not their day.

~ DeMarco Murray (RB - Running Back), game on! Dude did have one fumble (where the player loses the ball while carrying it and the other team gets it), but he also rushed for 118 yards and had 1 TD. If we can figure out our passing offense - we'll be in better shape!

~ Dallas Defense - tears. When they're on the field, it's like I go to a dark place trying to figure out... why? Why did we not keep DeMarcus Ware (we traded him to Denver)? Why didn't Jerry get more/better Defensive players? Why did Sean Lee have to get hurt?

Actually, asking "why" is a slippery slope. So, to prevent myself from overreacting, even though this is Overreaction Monday, let's just say, I hope we figure it out in time to meet the Tennessee Titans next week!

Bottom Line: It's actually sad because Romo, Witten, Dez and many other guys on our team are talented. But they never seem to pull it off or make it look like it's working. Disappointing. For us, as fans, and for them.

GO RANGERS!!!

Ron Washington...

I do not know what happened to Ron or why he left the Rangers. I do find it odd that he left before the season was over and in the middle of a series against the Seattle Mariners. I was at the game Friday night and it was weird not seeing Wash in his seat for the first time in 8 years. Here are the three things I think it could be...

1) He didn't like the name change to Globe Life Park? For 7 years, of Wash's 8 year career, it was named The Ballpark in Arlington, as it should be.
2) He didn't agree with Jon Daniels getting rid of Nolan Ryan, Jackie Moore, and a slew of players... Ian Kinsler, Nelson Cruz, David Murphy, Craig Gentry, just to name a few. So, Ron just got fed up and left? Doesn't sound like him. He doesn't seem like the type of man to duck out early, but you never know?
3) I hope it's not health. But many people choose to deal with health issues in private. Nothing wrong with that at all. But I really hope this isn't the case!

Either way. He did a great job with our players! They interviewed a few of them and it was really sad to hear how much they're going to miss him! Elvis Andrus went 0-4 Friday night... he looks like it was affecting him, but maybe it was just a bad night.

You will be missed Ron Washington. I pray everything is okay.

(Here's a pic of Wash's spot... and fireworks from Friday night's game. Best Fireworks ever!!

Random Info:
Today was Derek Jeter day at Yankee Stadium! This dude is a class act. He has set a standard on what a gentleman acts like on the field, and though I don't know him personally, I hear he's the same off the field.

Here's a great video clip and article on his special day today... watch. I so wish I could have been there, but I get to see Jeter play in NYC in a week! So excited!!

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...

Week 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings ~ NFC East ~ NFL logo quiz

GO COWBOYS!!! 10-1 1st in the NFL 1st in the NFC EAST Thursday, December 1st 7:25 PM CST on NBC We've NEVER won 10 consecutive games. Ever.  We lost our first game of the season to the New York Giants, by one point. And oddly enough, they are still the ghost we're trying to run away from and secure our playoff spot with only 5 Regular Season games left.  Here is what the NFC East looks like going into Week 13...  The Minnesota Vikings... what should we fear?  The Vikings are in the NFC North Division. They currently trail the Detroit Lions for a spot in the playoffs. They have only won 1 of their last 5 games, which makes this Thursday night, showtime game, a must win for the Vikings!  4-1 at home, The Vikings meet the Cowboys who are 5-0 on the road. Oh how I love those odds! Forever in our favor this season.  Quarterback situation. Sam Bradford is the starting QB for the Vikings. A guy they got in the o...
