Dallas Cowboys Week 2 ~ Cold Front in TX

GO COWBOYS!!!

WEEK 2 - Dallas Cowboys vs Tennessee Titans
Game Time: Noon (CST)
(remember, the second team is at HOME)

The game this Sunday...

We heard a lot of talk from Romo (QB), Garrett (Head Coach), almost all of the offense, saying they need to play smarter, make better decisions and execute what they do in practice.

We agree.

As fans, we sit on the sidelines with no option of ever playing in this game we love so passionately. We don't have any real control over what happens or doesn't. We just yell at our TV's, our tablets and any device that streams the Watch ESPN app and expect it to change the outcome! (same as yelling at your golf ball when you tee off and it's going dog leg left, when it's really a dog leg right - it's only crazy if it doesn't work, right?

Week 1 is always a tough week. It's the first game where everyone gets acclimated and their body has to deal with the shock of what they've chosen to do for a living. So, we'll give you Week 1 Cowboys.

Are y'all ready to fight? Is there toughness left?

It's going to take Romo being 100% accurate and our receiving corps to run the correct routes!

Jason Witten needs to be targeted more and Dez has to break out of triple coverage!

Cole Beasley needs to have more than 42 yards receiving if he's going to be our WR3!

Notice I haven't mentioned our Defense. Well, Jake Locker (Tennessee's QB), is doing pretty well this year. He threw for over 260 yards last week, had 2 TD's and NO interceptions! They did play Kansas City last week, who has one of the worst D's in the league, but that means he'll probably do the same against our Dallas D.

Bottom Line: The only way we had a game in Week 1 was with DeMarco Murray running the ball and saving Romo from more interceptions (since he didn't have to throw). This week, it may be a little tougher. The Titans are ranked 6th against the run. So, here's to Dan Bailey kicking 50 yard field goals and helping us win this one!

GO RANGERS!!!

We are 54-91 (Wins - Losses)

This makes me so sad. It's like a flash back to the early 2000's and to years of my childhood. We always had great players to cheer for, so the love for baseball is always there. But, as everyone in the world knows... it's way more fun to win! And no one wants to win more than the players we have.

Basically, it's time to start thinking about next year.

Enjoy your first three weeks of football... then we'll re-visit the Rangers dilemmas.

Random Info:
Y'all... it's going to be a high of 76 tomorrow (Friday) and high of 75 Saturday

I'll be on a jet plane for NYC, and will enjoy this type of weather all week, but if you're in Dallas, you have got to get outside!

Play golf, ride your bike, plant some new plants, throw the football in your front yard with your kids... whatever... just get out there!!

Life is too short to spend it all attached to tech devices. Look up at the clouds every now and then! They're really pretty!

And, since Sunday will heat back up (but not for very long), this is the perfect weekend to switch out the clothes in your closet and start transitioning for Fall/Winter.

Remember to DONATE your clothes! There are so many places in Dallas that help men and women who are in need. Please give your clothes away that are still in good condition!

I've always loved the quote - "The things you take for granted, someone else is praying for."

So don't discard that "ugly sweater" because someone else may think it's cute and it could help them stay warm!

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Dallas Mavs ~ Texas Rangers ~ Thoughts on the Super Bowl ~ Dallas is Freezing

Dallas  Mavericks 13-14 (wins-losses) I feel like we've been on a rollercoaster with the Mavs, but I like the direction we're going now. As for how NBA and NFL players feel about our cold weather... that's a funnier story. The Mavs longest stretch of losses was six games in mid-January. It was not fun and the team looked confused as to why they couldn't pull out a win.  A few guys have been out, off and on, due to illness or injury, but now they're all back and are rolling. Especially Kristaps Porzingis .  They keep joking that he's playing how he did back in September 2020 when they were in the NBA bubble, before his knee injury. Now that he has healed and is playing more minutes per game, he has been on fire! To see a 7'3" guy drain 3 pointers like he does is amazing. I mean, if he raises his arms, they're already above the rim, so he just has to put the right arc on it and swish. So cool!  His stats vs. the Pelicans in Friday night's victory:...

The Masters, in all its beauty ~ Texas Rangers ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Get Outside

The Masters The ultimate Bucket List item and one of the ones that exceeded my expectations. If you play golf, have a family member who makes you watch golf or take naps to golf, you understand that The Masters is the holy grail of golf tournaments. It is the only PGA tournament that is played in the same location every year, Augusta, Georgia.  Thanks to very dear friends of mine, I had the chance to walk through the azaleas, experience the serenity of Amen Corner and watch the players skip golf balls across the water at Hole 16. If they allowed people to sleep on the grass, I would have stayed forever.  We were there for two days of practice rounds, which is fun because the players are relaxed and cut up with one another. They cancelled the Par 3 Contest, which was sad, but just being there was the most wonderful feeling ever. You can't take phones in, so I even called my parents from the phones at Augusta, just to do so. We also didn't realize you could bring in a real camer...
