Week 9: Tennessee Titans vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Wunderlist

GO Cowboys!!! 3-4 (wins ~ losses)
Tennessee Titans vs. Dallas Cowboys (away team ~ home team)
Monday, November 5th at 7:15 PM CST on ESPN

Say it ain't so, I will not go, turn the lights out, carry me home...

If you have no clue where those lyrics are from, it's totally okay, I just assume it's what a few Coaches and Players are saying this week.

The Cowboys had a BYE week last week, coming off another road loss to the Washington Redskins. Yes, the Redskins, our in-division rival.

Here are the two major events that occurred during the BYE week, aside from rest and World Series Games...

1. We fired our Offensive Line (O-Line) Coach and promoted a previous player, Marc Columbo.
2. We gave the Oakland Raiders a FIRST ROUND draft pick next year for their 24 year old Wide Receiver (WR), Amari Cooper. Read on.

We will see results this Monday night when the Cowboys play the Titans.

Our hope is that Dak and Cooper connect immediately, if not, it will be a rough game.
Cooper is in his fourth season in the NFL and was not being utilized in Oakland. He's also on my fantasy football team and had two games over 10 points, every other week he got less than 2!!!! But, I'm starting him this week, in a normal WR slot. That's how much I am hoping, and believing, this will workout for both the Cowboys and my 3-5 fantasy team.

We know Cooper will be a distraction for their Defense, ranked 7th in the league against the pass. And we're hoping that this opens more doors for Elliott (our RB, Running Back) to bust through! If Columbo has new ideas on how the O-line can buy time for Dak, this may be a win win? At least that is what we are all hoping for.

The 411 on Tennessee...

They're offense is struggling, badly, similar to ours. But they're ranked 31st out of 32 teams in the league. And shockingly enough, our Dallas Defense is ranked #1 in the NFL! But both teams are 3-4 going into this game. Marcus Mariota, the Titans QB, has only thrown 3 TD's in 7 games. They're looking to use their RB, Dion Lewis a lot against the Cowboys D and get points on the board early.

Our advantage/disadvantage is we're at home, and we have won all three times we've played there, so we should win. So, happy Tuesday y'all! The Cowboys beat the Titans! Yay!

Bonus: Jason Witten is calling his first Cowboys game since retiring last year! Read on.

GO MAVS!!! 2-7
Y'all, I've yet to go to a game, but we're only 9 in on the season.

However, after listening to sports radio this past week, everyone is obsessed with Luka Doncic, the 19 year old from Slovenia. He's averaging 19.6 points per game (PPG), and is tied with Klay Thompson at 26th in the league.

When the Mavs played the Los Angeles Lakers the other night, everyone was talking about the match-up between Doncic and Lebron. Lebron is listed at 250 lbs and Doncic is listed at 218 lbs. I wish I had seen the game because we only lost by 1 point!

For you Lebron fans, this match-up will happen again in LA on November 30th.

Here are some upcoming games...

GO RANGERS!!!
We have a new Manager, Chris Woodward, from the LA Dodgers. They just lost to the Red Sox in the World Series last week, but they went back to back years, like the Rangers did in 2010 and 2011. Come on over friend, we know your pain! And couldn't you have brought Clayton Kershaw with you before he re-signed with the Dodgers?

Thoughts...
Wunderlist is one of the best apps.

I use this for many reasons...
~ grocery lists
~ travel lists (you can share with friends)
~ To Do lists
~ Black Friday/Cyber Monday lists

So that is my recommendation, download Wuderslist (or your app of choice), and start a list for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This will help you stay focused on your purchases and not overspend on things you don't need (and I use the word "need" loosely). And so you're not overwhelmed and miss out on some great deals!

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
