GO Cowboys!!! 6-5 (wins ~ losses)
New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys (away team ~ home team)
We've won three games in a row!!! One on the road and two at home. Woohoo! The win against Atlanta was a big deal! I know they're not the most solid team, but their Offense is still lethal and our Secondary held it together all four quarters! Zeke (our RB) also had 122 rushing yards. That helped give our Offense a break from covering Julio Jones all game! That dude is awesome to watch!! Wow!
I know everyone is excited that we got another W last week vs. the Redskins, but it was against their back-up QB, Colt McCoy, from UT. McCoy's new back-up is Mark Sanchez, from USC. Every time I hear about this guy I laugh at this photoshoot.
..... Sorry, still laughing... Aaron Rodgers thought that photoshoot was funny too!
Focus.
THIS WEEKS GAME...
The Saints. Y'all. Drew Brees. I just don't know. There's no way to stop him. He is literally unstoppable. Like, you can't stop him. He throws long, he throws short. He hands the ball off to Kamara or Mark Ingram. He has over 1k yards with Michael Thomas, his #1 WR (wide receiver). And don't worry, Kamara can catch too, dude has 706 yards rushing and 519 yards receiving. Double threat.
So, that's the Offense. Read it and weep.
Clearly he has more weapons than that, but these are the main dudes you'll hear about.
The Saints drafted Dez Bryant a few weeks ago, which would have made this game very interesting. Sadly enough he got injured in his first week of practice. That said, the Saints know they need more weapons for Brees to throw to besides Thomas. This article details out how many rookies Brees has thrown to this season, for TD's (touchdowns). Do you know how hard that is to do? And how hard that is for a Defense to cover and predict?
So how can we compete?
How is their D?
Do they have any weaknesses?
The Saints D ranks #1 in the NFL vs. the run, holding opposing teams to an average of 73.2 rushing yards per game.
What is our one trick? Our run game. Zeke. He has over 1k rushing yards vs. their WR, Thomas with 1k receiving yards. That is how we would like to match them play for play, but we're going to have to get creative, and Dak is going to have to throw the ball.
It's a good think Zeke can catch the short out-routes, and Cooper is still unknown enough to go deep and confuse the secondary. If we can get Beasley involved, that will help off-set our non-existent TE (tight end) game. Yo Witten, you want to come back?
Bottom Line... our Defense and Secondary are going to be worn out.
Brees is putting on a clinic for every QB ever. He's 39 years old and is throwing better than he's ever thrown. Reminds me of when Favre didn't want to leave the Packers and went to the Vikings to get his revenge. That was the year I had Sidney Rice on my fantasy team. That was a great year! It was the only time I've ever won Fantasy Football. Tear.
Last key to the game...
As much as I expect Brees to miraculously throw the ball all over the field. We have a pretty amazing Defense right now that can get a lot of pressure on him before he gets the ball out of his hands. At least at the Linebacker position.
Even non-Cowboys fan are noticing Vander Esch. Our Rookie, 8-man football draft pick from Boise State. I was listening to a local radio station and they were talking about how we need to draft all Linebackers from 8-man teams. Ha! These players are used to covering more space and that is part of the reason Vander Esch is so good! Dude flies around the field, tackling anyone near him. I'm not saying Sean Lee should retire, but heal up those hamstrings and impart your wisdom on this young kid. He's doing a great job leading on and off the field!
New Orleans lost their first game of the season, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They've won 10 straight since. As much as I think this is going to be a good game, I think they win 11 straight. Sorry Cowboys, this one goes to the Saints.

GO MAVS!!! 9-9 (wins ~ losses)
We've won 7 of the last 9 games! This is something to be excited about!
Something not to be excited about is that we're 1-7 on the road. Similar to the Cowboys, who are 2-4 on the road. And we play the Houston Rockets Wednesday night... on the road.
The Rockets aren't that good this year. Their record is 9-10. The one man show of James Hardin is going to be hard to stop, but I think the mix of our young guys and vets can get the job done!
Who do we play after Houston?
Los Angeles... the newest destination for LeBron James. First stop Cleveland, second stop Miami, third stop Cleveland, fourth stop Los Angeles. Yes, these sounds like flight connections or layover destinations, but this is his career path.
The Lakers are 11-8 this season with LeBron leading in four out of five team stats: points, rebounds, assists and steals. Sounds like every team he's been on. I assume we'll get beat, just because it's LeBron and it's on the road.
BUT, they'll be back in Dallas Sunday!! I get to go to the game and am so excited!! Here are our team leaders! I'm can't wait to see them in person! And I'm pretty sure we can beat the Clippers. It's the Clippers.

Thoughts...
I mentioned a couple of years ago that I had never watched the Hallmark channel. Didn't even know it existed. If it's not ESPN, Fox Sports Southwest, 4, 5 or 11... I didn't watch it.
Until the nice lady from Time Warner gasped as I told her over the phone that I needed basic cable, with sports channels, and I could give up other channels. She lectured me on the Hallmark channel, and couldn't believe I had never watched it or that I was willing to give it up to get the Golf Channel.
Thank you Time Warner, now Spectrum, lady.
I've seen every movie in the 2000's. Some are a little rough.
However, I believe they've caught on to the fact that their movies are far too predictable. I've seen a few new twists this season, which is nice.
I've seen a lot less "misunderstandings" 10 minutes before the end of the movie, now they're in the middle.
There's still the awkward "almost" kiss halfway into the movie, and the real kiss at the end. Funny how a kid always needs a glass of water just as they're about to kiss. Then the next morning it's like nothing ever happened. Kid needed water, we're just friends. Got it.
The mistletoe has only shown up in a few of the movies I've watched. But then again there is an entire movie about gingerbread houses and cookies. So that one takes the cake, or the cookie?
The twist in the movie with Tatyana Ali, Will Smith's sister in Fresh Prince of Bel Air, was good! Christmas Everlasting. I think she's in a few more this season! Yay! However, I must warn you, there's a lot of mistletoe in this one. But not as much as in Mistletoe Promise.
And can we just acknowledge how many are a re-mix of Pride and Prejudice characters. I love P&P as much as anyone, but not sure I need the name mashups that they're doing this season in Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe. It hasn't completely ruined it for me, but let Jane Austen have her moment and at least name the characters different names.
Overall, I'm fine with Hallmark doing their version of her books, and a lot of other classics, including Sabrina, one of my favorites. I wonder if they'll ever do a Hallmark Sleepless in Seattle version? That would be fun! #Sam
Here are a few of my favorites from the Christmas Season...
On the Twelfth Day of Christmas
Reunited at Christmas
The Christmas Cottage
Switched for Christmas
Christmas Cookies
Christmas Everlasting
Christmas Next Door
A Dream of Christmas
And yes, I have a life. Sadly these movies make great background noise while working from home and sports aren't on.
