Week 15: Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Raiders ~ MAVS ~ Hug Someone

COWBOYS 7-6 (losses-wins)
Sunday, December 17th
Dallas Cowboys vs. Los Angeles Raiders (home team is second)
7:30 PM CST on NBC

We've won our last two games, without Ezekiel Elliott! This is our last game without him. He is eligible to play again on 12/24 vs. Seattle.

With a 7-6 record, we need to win this game if we want a shot to make the playoffs.

So, how do we match up vs. the Raiders??

There are three key areas that we are better in...

1. Total Yards per game. This doesn't always equate to points, but it helps!
2. Time of possession. This is a big one! The team that controls the clock, typically controls the pace and outcome of the game. Some teams are better in the second half, that would be the Raiders. Something the Cowboys have had to prepare for.
3. Third down conversion. Another big one! Each team has four downs to get 10 yards. Your goal is to get the 10 yards on the first or second down. However, if you must go on third or fourth down, you need it to be a short yardage situation, or a really smart play. As predictable as our play-calling has been, it seems to work for us on third down.

How does our Defense match up with theirs?

Our D is slightly better than the Raiders. We've allowed less passing and rushing yards. We've held our opponents to an average of 22.6 point per game. And we are tied with the Raiders in allowing third point conversions. I'd say, advantage Cowboys!

Cowboys key players...

1. Dan Bailey ~ our kicker. Dude, he missed three kicks last week. 3!!! He explained that it was the wind in NYC. But this is the most accurate kicker in the league! He has been 100% accurate, until last week. He was 33.3.%. If he plays this week, with his hamstring injury, I assume the wind in LA won't bother him.

2. Sean Lee ~ linebacker. He has battled a hamstring injury for a few weeks, or a few years. He played last week vs. the Giants and had 18 tackles and an interception, assisted by Chidobe Awuzie. Our rookie CB's (cornerbacks) have stepped up their game!!

We will need our entire D to step up! More and more injuries will keep out Scandrick, David Irving, and possibly Lee. He didn't practice Friday.

3. Rod Smith ~ WR (wide receiver). Who is this guy?? Dude was 5/5 last week, for 113 yards and one TD! Now this is what I'm talking about! He has been in the league three years stepped up when we need it the most! Keep it up Smith! I hope to see more of you and Williams this week!

Our entire Offense needs to play how they did vs. the Giants!

Raiders key players...

1. Derek Carr ~ QB. This guy is pretty good!! He has an amazing arm and can attack any Defense in the fourth quarter! He had an amazing game last week vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. They lost, but not by much. He will be coming in hot this Sunday!!

2. Jared Cook ~ TE (Tight End). This is Carr's go to guy! Our rookie Defensive will have to guard against this dude. He's 6'5" and 254 lbs. Ummm yeah. Big dude. Good luck D!

3. Marshawn Lynch ~ RB. Don't worry, he won't do anything. We've got this!

Cowboys MUST WIN if we want to make it to the the big dance!!!

Cowboys win, 28-27

GO MAVS!!! 8-21 (wins - losses)
J.J. Barea. We may be losing a lot, still, but this guy is killing it!! He's 33 years old, averaging 5.4 assists and 12.2 points per game. Barnes is fun to watch, but as someone in their 30's - I like seeing guys like Barea and Dirk defy the odds!

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto. ...

Week 2: New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ UNT beat Arkansas ~ Scooter Magruder

GO Cowboys!!! 0-1 (wins ~ losses) New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ( away team ~ home team ) Sunday, September 16 @ 7:20 PM CST on NBC If you watched the game last week, where we lost to the Carolina Panthers, you have most likely decided to stop watching the rest of the season. It was a rough game. And it makes a lot of people think that first string players should get more reps during pre-season games so your Week 1 game isn't a scrimmage. So, during the " scrimmage ," that was a regular season game, Dak matched Cam Newton ( Carolina's QB ) in passing yards and was pretty close in accuracy. So where did Carolina win? Aside from wearing out our Defense... Newton had 13 carries for 58 rushing yards, allowing him to score one of their two TD's ( touchdowns ). Zeke ( our RB, running back ) had 15 carries for 69 rushing yards and one TD. Carolina out played us in the run game because they're not afraid to allow their QB to run. They converted more 1st ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 2 ~ Texas Rangers ~ Subway Series, Matt Harvey

GO COWBOYS!!! 2-0  (wins - losses) Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles  - We won!!! Y'all. Everyone is injured. Yes, we won, but it was still as chaotic as it was against the Giants in Week 1.  Injuries... to our Starters...  Quarterback - Tony Romo is out with a collarbone fracture. For probably 8 weeks. He doesn't need surgery, which is a good thing!! He had this same injury in 2010, caused by the Giants. So, he needs to be a little more careful vs. the Eagles and Giants.  Tight End - Jason Witten is probable for this week with two ankle sprains and a sprained knee. He has proven he is one of the toughest guys ... EVER. He will most likely play through the pain, but if he wants to take a rest vs. the Atlanta Falcons this week, I'm okay with that.  Wide Receiver  -  Dez Bryant has a broken bone in his foot . He had surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks. If we go 6 weeks, the Cowboys have a BYE Week in Week 6, so technica...
