COWBOYS 0-1 (wins-losses)
Sunday, September 18th
Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins (home team is second)
12:00 PM CST on FOX
We lost last week vs. the New York Giants. By 1 point.
What went wrong?
1. Our Offensive Line was not up to par
2. We have a Rookie for a QB, who actually did a great job, but still isn't Romo (yes he has potential, just sayin' it was his first NFL game, experience counts for something)
3. Dez Bryant
4. Terrance Williams did not get out of bounds at the end of the game, which would have set up Dan Bailey for a field goal (the three point Field Goal was almost a guaranteed 3 points with the most accurate kicker in the NFL)
As much as we all thought our Defense was going to be our main issue these first few games, it was rough watching Dez have two passes hit his hands and not pull them in. Bryant is notorious for this. He had one catch for 8 yards and was targeted 5 times. My grandma could catch a pass and run for 8 yards. (No joke, she walks a mile a day, 5 days a week, and she's in her 80's).
DEFENSE: Terrell McClain is a Defensive Lineman who Rod Marinelli seems to be excited about. This little article talks about his strength and how he's one of the main reasons we held the NY Giants to 112 rushing yards. Could we have done better? Yes! But our D wasn't ranked very high coming into the season.
Sean Lee had 10 tackles last week. That's 9 more than any other dude on on our Defense. As annoying as Lee's injuries have been season after season, I hope he stays healthy this whole year! He's proven to make an impact.
p.s. Scandrick is to play in the game Sunday, despite hamstring issues.
This Weeks Matchup...
The Washington Redskins are in the NFC East. As are the New York Giants and this other team that I don't have to talk about until Week 8. 4 Teams total. After Week 1, the Cowboys are ranked 3rd out of these 4 teams. Not fun. Therefore, we need to win this game.
QB: Redskins have Kirk Cousins as their QB. He had a great season last year, but the competition wasn't that tough. In his first game this season vs. the Steelers, he threw for 329 yards and went 30 for 43 (that's 30 passes completed out of 43 attempts, 69.8%). The Cowboys have our Rookie, Dak Prescott. In his first NFL game vs. the Giants, he threw for 227 yards and went 25 for 45 (55.6% completion). This is a stat that will get better and better as the season progresses. Our O-Line has to learn how to block for this kid. He can run, Romo did too, but not like Dak. Also our WR (wide receiver) corp needs to help this guy out. Stop dropping passes and play smarter! Like get out of bounds. It's the little things.
RB: The Redskins have Matt Jones as their featured RB (running back). He averaged 3.4 yards per carry LW (last week) and had a total of 27 yards rushing. The Cowboys have Ezekiel Elliott (I may have mentioned him before), once again, the O-Line needs to block better for this kid too. He was hyped up to have a DeMarco Murray type season, averaging 100+ yards a game, and he only averaged 2.9 yards per carry LW. 20 carries for 51 yards. Not the break-out game we all hoped for from the Urban Meyer era at Ohio State. But, same as Dak, he will get better.
With the Redskins D allowing 38 points by the Steelers last week, we know they are not happy about how they lost, and they will come out ready to attack our team of Rookies.
No matter what... they're still the Redskins. We will beat them.

GO RANGERS!!! 88-60
1st in AL (We're 2 games ahead of the Cleveland Indians)
2nd in MLB (7 games behind Chicago Cubs in 1st and have clinched)
34-10 in 1 run games... you read that correctly... 33 wins in games we are trailing the opposing team by 1 point.
The coolest part is you never know what guy it's gonna be! Odor? Andrus? Gomez? Profar? Beltre? Beltran? Lucroy? Moreland? I mean come on... it's so fun to watch! I can't even!!!
**With our 2 game victory vs. the Houston Astros, we've pushed them to 11.5 games behind us in the race for the Pennant. And are making their fans mad with the acquisition of Carlos Gomez. Former Houston Astro who has a Batting Average of .250 for the month of September. He was batting .209 with the Astros.**
Pennant Race...
If you like the March Madness grids... here's the MLB Postseason Grid, if everything plays out as it appears to be. If you look at the bottom left corner... yup... we would play either the Baltimore Orioles or the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.
During the Regular Season, we beat the Orioles 4 out of 7 games and the Blue Jays 3 out of 7. Upside, we only played the Blue Jays in the 1st half of the season. They haven't seen Lucroy, Beltran, Gomez or Jefferess (if he ever comes back).
Game Plan... during these last few games... The Skipper, Jeff Banister, and his staff will be auditioning Pitchers for the Playoff rotation. With Colby Lewis back in action, we have a few starters that need to prove they can handle the Postseason action.
If you had to pick 4 starting pitchers for the Playoffs right now...
Who would it be?
Mine would be...
1. Cole Hamels
2. Yu Darvish
3. Colby Lewis
4. Holland or Perez*
*only if you can use Perez on at home, he is 2-8 on the road and 8-2 at home, I just so happened to have been at his 2 losses at home this year
Here is a link for the entire postseason schedule. Just in case you need to plan a trip or two around being in town for the games!

ANOTHER WALK-OFF WIN!!!! Lucroy gets the game ball of the night!
Lucroy went 1-4 on the night... his one hit was what scored the winning run!
Your Texas Rangers have 45 comeback wins

I was fortunate enough to attend the FC Dallas Game Tuesday night where they won the U.S. Open Cup Championship vs. the New England Revolution. First time in 19 years! Back when they were the Dallas Burn. #USOC2016 #lamarhunt
As I was driving to the game, my sister and I figured out she was probably at that game 19 years ago. So funny! And totally random, but a great way to see my first MLS game!!
My friends who took me were nice enough to not only invite me, but they also explained a bit of the rules. I mean, I've watched soccer before, but not live.
The crowd is interesting, but fun! I had to buy a soccer scarf... I'll use any excuse to shop! And I did enjoy holding my scarf up with the words "Pride of Texas" written on it. However; I do want a "Dallas till I Die" scarf too. But I'll need to attend a few more games for that purchase to make sense.
There was this one section of fans who play music the entire game. I'm not diagnosed as ADD, but it was definitely distracting. I had to pretend they were a sound machine and just tune them out. Other than that, I enjoyed the game and seeing any local team accomplish goals they've set for themselves!
Hug someone!
~smile~
