Week 16: Dallas Cowboys vs. Buffalo Bills ~ Dallas Mavericks ~ Happy New Year

GO COWBOYS!!! 4-10 (wins - losses)

Sunday, December 27th
Dallas Cowboys vs. Buffalo Bills (home team is second)
12:00 PM CST on FOX

Well... it's the off-season for the Cowboys now... unofficially, at 4-10. It's the off-season for the Bills too, at 6-8.

When you're 4-10, you start placing your starting players that are injured on the IR (Injured Reserve) and getting them healed up for next season.

Romo and Dez are officially on IR. Witten has chest soreness, Beasley has a knee issue and I wouldn't be surprised if a few Offensive Lineman were limited in the last two games as well. No need to get injured when you only have two games left in the season and no hope of the playoffs.

Buffalo Bills...

We used to play them a lot back in the 80's and 90's. That was back when Jim Kelly was the QB.

The Cowboys 1992 and 1993 Super Bowl titles were victories against the Buffalo Bills. Good times!! It's been far too long since we've had a team like that! In 1993, the Cowboys were the only team to win the Super Bowl after losing the first 2 games of the regular season.

Today's Bills... Tyrod Taylor is their QB. He had a decent season and ended it on a high note, buying his Offensive Lineman 65" TV's for Christmas. Their RB is injured... LeSean McCoy. And a few other players are banged up. Basically, it's going to be a pre-season game in Week 16.

Bottom Line... Kellen Moore is the starting QB for the Dallas Cowboys. He's a left handed QB, first in Cowboys history to throw in a regular season game. He had a few great passes last week and a TD to Dez. The WR's said they have to make adjustments based on catching the ball from a lefty vs. a right handed QB. Good thing they'll have the off-season to perfect this!

Injuries... Romo, Dez, Claiborne, Beasley, on and on and on.

GO MAVS!!! 16-13

Still sitting at 5th in the West and 2nd in the Southwest Division.

Dirk Nowitzki is unbelievable. Now the 6th all time NBA scoring leader! He passed Shaq and many others!! Here is his tweet after...

As for the rest of our team... we need to get healthy (Williams and Harris, hamstrings), and not give up so many points in the first half!

J.J. Barea is tearing it up tonight vs. Chicago!!

**The game time was pushed back an hour due to tornados in the area. Rowlett & Garland were hit very hard. Prayers for everyone in that area!!! And surrounding areas!***

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
