Week 13: Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins ~ Dallas Mavericks ~ Hutchins BBQ

GO COWBOYS!!! 3-8 (wins - losses)

Monday Night Football, December 7th
Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins (home team is second)
7:30 PM CST on ESPN

Monday Night Football... The Dallas Cowboys vs. The Washington Redskins... Not the powerhouse game the NFL was expecting when they made the schedule for 2015!

So, my Uncle and cousin are BIG Redskins fans!!! Like, they have Hog outfits and RGIII Jersey's... that they tried to give me at Thanksgiving, because they think Jerry will pick him up with Romo out. They replaced that jersey with a Kirk Cousins one. I told them I'd use it for kindling in my fireplace... (no opponent gear allowed in my house).

The NFC East... what went wrong??

The Eagles beat the Patriots today... which means, if the Cowboys beat the Redskins tomorrow night, we would be one game out of First Place in our Division. hahaha...

I am still holding out for Draft Picks... which means we have to lose to get a closer to the front of the line in draft order... (the good players usually go in the 1st or 5th round).

REDSKINS...

Kirk Cousins is their QB vs. Matt Cassel, our back-up QB. Since Romo fractured his collarbone again, we are back to second string!

The Dallas D will be facing Cousins, who has thrown for over 2700 yards and 16 TD this season. However, a Cowboys fan favorite stat is the 10 interceptions he's thrown. Most were at the beginning of the season; however, I believe our secondary can pressure their passing game and we'll see at least one pick 6 from McClain, Jones or Wilcox!

One snafu in the Cowboys plan this week may be Dashon Goldson...

A leader, and a Safety, called a players only meeting last week before their win against the Giants. The Redskins have something to play for... they can easily stay in 1st place in our Division if the defeat our team. And with Cousins playing the way he is and Jordan Reed trying to be Tight End of the year... they are trying to make their way into the playoffs!

Bottom Line... With Romo hurt, again... I feel like all hope is lost. Not forever, but for this season... yeah. We do; however, have a resurged running back in Darren McFadden! Dude has stepped it up the past 3 weeks! And I hope Cassel can connect with Terrance Williams when Dez is being double-teamed! (I feel like Williams is to Dez like Alvin Harper was to Michael Irvin)! Monday night will be interesting. Rival game... big stage... let's hope that the Cowboys can pull off a W! :)

Injuries... Romo, Claiborne, Heath???, Dez didn't practice, but he's playing!

Fantasy Football... I quit. Unless you were brilliant and picked up Brock Osweiler... you're probably not winning your league. (p.s. love the dude's name) Especially with Brady losing two weeks in a row... tears for my work league.

GO MAVS!!! 12-9

The Mavs have a one game win streak going!!! Woohoo!! It was a big win over the Washington Wizards... 116-104. John Wall was injured at the end of the game... but it was Wesley Matthews getting his name in the papers with 36 points!

It's nice to see new guys making a name for themselves! Especially with Chandler Parsons still as a slot-in 6th man.

Christmas time is the perfect time to take the family to a Mavs Game!!! Here are the next few games... if I could recommend one... it would be December 30th vs. Golden State! You'd get to see Stephen Curry!!! They are still undefeated at 22-0... maybe the Mavs will be the ones to take them down??

Random Info:
So, a friend told me about this BBQ place in the Dallas Area... pretty sure it's life changing. I'm not kidding.

Hutchins BBQ in McKinney or Frisco is worth every penny you will spend there!

I recommend the lean brisket, fried okra, mac n' cheese, and sweet tea. The cobbler and banana pudding is complimentary, oh and there's ice cream too!

At the Frisco location, they also had a brisket stuffed jalapeno. What??? Dude, it was good!!

Happy eating!

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
