Week 14: Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers ~ Dallas Mavericks ~ White Christmas

GO COWBOYS!!! 4-8 (wins - losses)

Sunday, December 13th
Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers (home team is second)
3:25 PM CST on FOX

The Cowboys are playing a Green Bay Packer team that is 8-4.

The last time we faced the Packers, was last year in the second round of the Playoffs. Remember... the Dez "catch." Yeah. We remember. Dan Blandino, on Ben and Skin.

Packers...

They have Aaron Rodgers as their QB. Who I am a fan of. But, not Sunday!

The Green Bay Packers have not played their best football lately. They started the season 6-0, then lost 3 in a row and haven't gotten back on track since.

They have not been able to convert on 3rd down. Too many of their WR's are injured, so they aren't throwing on short yard plays. Their two main Running Backs, Lacy and Starks can't seem to get the job done either. So, advantage Cowboys Defense!!! Shut down their run game and re-gain possession for our offense!

Cowboys...

Romo is still injured. He didn't have to have surgery again on his collarbone, but he will be out for a while.

Matt Cassel will start as our QB, and will hopefully connect more with Dez. He hasn't been targeted much in the past few games with Cassel. I know he's constantly double-teammed, but we need him to be aggressive vs. the Green Bay Defense. They have allowed over 245 average yards passing by their opponents this season.

Bottom Line... We will continue to see Cassel connect with Witten, Beasley, and Williams... but if we can't get Dez in the mix for the big touchdowns... we may not win against a struggling/hopeful Green Bay team. And, if we don't win out, our hopes for the playoffs are seriously over, and our draft pick hopes are back up. #catch22

Injuries... Romo, and I'm sure others that all say probably right now, but will be announced before the game.

Fantasy Football... If you didn't make the playoffs, you've probably given up on your team. It's okay... there's always next year. And if you're in a keeper league, be thinking of what non-injured player you want for next year. (If there even is one)?

GO MAVS!!! 13-10

The Mavs play the Washington Wizards tonight. We should beat them, like the Cowboys beat the Washington Redskins last week!

It's Seats for Soldiers night. Pretty awesome thing... they give seats to Wounded Warriors from San Antonio and Ft. Worth. #SeatsForSoldiers #DALvsWAS

The Wizards are coming into our house with a 2 game losing streak... and look to break that on the road. However, our Mavs have been playing pretty well lately. If we can get Chandler Parsons back to 100%, we will be in great shape after the All-Star break.

Deron Williams is out tonight with a stomach bug. This lessens our chance of winning by about 8%. Look for Felton and Harris to carry the team from a PG perspective!

Random Info:
Musicals...

When is the last time you watched a musical? On TV or Live?

I suggest watching White Christmas at least once this month!! :) Snow, snow, snow, snow... snow!!!!! Better yet, go visit somewhere with snow this Christmas!

(I grew up in a house where we watched musicals and learned to appreciate them! Which, I still do, even as an adult).

I'm sure you can watch Elf once or twice too. But that's not a musical. "I'm in a store, and I'm singing... I'm in a store, and I'm SingIng"

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
