Week 7: Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins ~ Dallas Mavs ~ Hug Someone

GO Cowboys!!! 3-3 (wins ~ losses)
Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins (away team ~ home team)
Sunday, October 21st @ 3:25 PM CST on CBS
(does this mean Romo will be calling our game again??)

We have won goal this is week... to win!

(yes, I meant to say won instead of one... I'm believing that we will win)!

This is how our record looks... L, W, L, W, L, W... every loss was on the road, every win was at home. We're on the road this week in Washington DC, playing our in Division rival, the Washington Redskins.

They made a lot of changes this year to their team that have not worked out so well. They let Kirk Cousins, their star QB last year, be traded to the Minnesota Vikings for Alex Smith, the former QB for Kansas City Chiefs, who now have the amazing second year rookie, Patrick Mahomes.

Who has this worked out the best for? You decide.
KC's record is 5-1, 2nd in the NFL
Redskins record is 3-2, 9th in the NFL
Minnesota's record is 3-2, 13th in the NFL

Mahomes is riveting to watch, and even more so surprising since he only played in one game last season. But the Chiefs were willing to trade Alex Smith and start fresh. I guess we've seen this before as Cowboys fans... Romo gets hurt, Dak has a great game, the rookie gets the job, the rest is history.

So this week, we play the Washington Redskins Alex Smith, and his struggling offense. Their BYE week (the week they get a break) was in Week 4. They've won two games at home and only lost one to the Indianapolis Colts. They shockingly beat Green Bay, and the beloved Aaron Rodgers, in Week 3, when Smith threw for 220 yards and Adrian Peterson ran for 120 yards. This was Peterson's highest rushing game of the season.

Yes, this is the Oklahoma Sooners Adrian Peterson. He's still in the NFL and still attacking Defenses. Now if you're a Cowboys fan and a Sooners fan, you can't cheer for the Redskins. Peterson can have a good game, but we'd like to limit him to less than a hundred yards rushing and no TD's. Thanks!
What worked so well for the Cowboys last week that we were able to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 7-40, and carry over into this week?

They did everything I said. Just kidding! But for real, they did everything EVERYONE has been asking for!!

1) Let Dak run, if he needs to run.
2) Get Zeke the ball, rushing or passing, the dude finds holes and gains yards. Feed him!
3) Find Cole Beasley! We don't have Witten anymore, so we need this fast guy to run the slant route and take it downfield.
4) Let our Defense play! I have a few complaints, but for the most part, I'd give them all a trophy right now. And not a participation trophy, but a "y'all have stepped it up and helped our offense gain some confidence" kind of trophy!

If we do all of these things this week in Washington, we can win! It would be our first back to back W, and our first W on the road. Bring it on!!!!

Injury report...
~ Sean Lee, Linebacker, is BACK!!! Not sure we need him, but we'll take healthy players.
~ Tavon Austin, Wide Receiver (WR), is out with a groin injury. Looks like all of our #2's need to step it up!

GO MAVS!!!
Basketball is back!!!

The season started this past week, the Mavs had their first game and their first loss to the Phoenix Suns. We will have a much better chance of beating the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight!

If you are confused about who plays for what team this year, since there were a lot of trades in the NBA off-season... watch this video. It's one of my favorite sports videos of all time and explains where every player went and why. Ha!

The one acquisition the Mavs made during the crazy trade off-season was for DeAndre Jordan. The guy who broke our hearts a few years ago, then finally decided to come play for us. He had 12 rebounds in our first game. We needed a guy like him!!! Glad he finally decided to join us!

Here are all of our team leaders (via @espn)
Here's the schedule for the next week... I AM going to a game this year!!! Hope to see y'all there!!

Thoughts...
Sometimes you just have a heavy week, where you're reminded how short life is.

Enjoy it! Every minute. With friends, family, and co-workers, since you see them more than you see most people!

Laugh more than you ever thought you should, and remember that EVERY day has purpose. A perfect stranger that I met on a plane recently reminded me that time here, with people we love, is a gift. She is the most beautiful lady, with a very real association to this statement.

What if we all viewed every day as a gift, and loved people with our time?

Often, we don't even need to speak words, just a hug will do, and the fact that you showed up.

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto. ...

Week 12: Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ Staubach's Final Game vs. Redskins ~ Be Thankful

GO COWBOYS!!! 9-1 1st in the NFL  (I've died and gone to Heaven) 1st in the NFC EAST Thursday, November 24th Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys  (home team is second) 3:30 PM CST on FOX Full of hope, I predicted last week that the Cowboys would beat the Ravens by 11 points. We won by 10.  Y'all, this is better than I could have ever hoped for... in my football fan life. We went up against the #1 Defense in the league, threw up 97 rushing yards from Zeke and 301 passing yards by Dak. What? Who are we? So much fun!  THANKSGIVING DAY RIVALRY...  Before you get all tired off Tryptophan ... make sure to  check out this link and read about the NFL history on Thanksgiving Day . The two most consistent teams to play are the Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions.  The Washington Redskins... our NFC East Division Rival. We have played the Redskins twice a year since 1961.  That is a long time!  T...

Over-reaction Monday Week 2 ~ Texas Rangers ~ Subway Series, Matt Harvey

GO COWBOYS!!! 2-0  (wins - losses) Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles  - We won!!! Y'all. Everyone is injured. Yes, we won, but it was still as chaotic as it was against the Giants in Week 1.  Injuries... to our Starters...  Quarterback - Tony Romo is out with a collarbone fracture. For probably 8 weeks. He doesn't need surgery, which is a good thing!! He had this same injury in 2010, caused by the Giants. So, he needs to be a little more careful vs. the Eagles and Giants.  Tight End - Jason Witten is probable for this week with two ankle sprains and a sprained knee. He has proven he is one of the toughest guys ... EVER. He will most likely play through the pain, but if he wants to take a rest vs. the Atlanta Falcons this week, I'm okay with that.  Wide Receiver  -  Dez Bryant has a broken bone in his foot . He had surgery and will be out 4-6 weeks. If we go 6 weeks, the Cowboys have a BYE Week in Week 6, so technica...
