GO Cowboys!!! 2-3 (wins ~ losses)
Sunday, October 14th @ 3:25 PM CST on CBS
Our two wins were at home. Our three losses were on the road. This week, we play at home. Is it really that simple? Sometimes it is. Cowboys win at home, my work here is done.
Just kidding, but for real. I do think this will be another close game, and one where we may have the upper hand.
I can't even being to talk about 4th and 1 in Overtime last week, so I'm not going to talk about it. Our Defense played their tails off, and you want to put their jello legs back out there and punt the ball? Like I said, I don't want to talk about it. I'm a fan who sits in her apt, yelling at her TV. I'm just glad my neighbors don't think anyone is hurting me! I make sure to yell out football terms so they have a point of reference as to my cheeryelling.
Jacksonville... The Jags...
Y'all, luckily for us, they have a lot of injured players. Sad for those individuals, because I hate that they get hurt, but it's going to add to our small advantage.
Their STAR Running Back, Leondard Fournette, LSU alumni and only his second year in the NFL, has a hamstring injury that will keep him out of this game. Along with three Cornerbacks, one of them being Jalen Ramsey, a player we almost took in the 2016 Draft instead of Elliott (our RB). Ramsey has a knee injury, but there's a small possibility he will play.
As for the Cowboys, we're in week 6 and we finally get David Irving, DT (Defensive Tackle) back. He was suspended the first four games of the season, but having him back will only make our Defense better!! And hopefully take a little pressure off Demarcus Lawrence, DE (Defensive End). He has a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Not fun, but he's tough and will keep playing! Sean Lee, LB (Linebacker) is out, which is to be expected. Seems like a nice guy, not nice hamstrings. We have a few other Defensive guys with ankle and knee injuries, but hopefully they're not major and they can all play this Sunday!
4 Things we need to do to win...
1. Run/Pass to Ezekiel Elliott. He leads the league in rushing yards, 480. The Jaguars Defense rank 14th in the NFL in rushing yards allowed, and allow an average of 101.2 yards per game.
2. Put a LOT of pressure on Blake Bortles, the Jags QB. He's thrown for 1,525 yards and 8 TD's this season. (Dak has thrown for 961 yards and 5 TD's). The most sacked QB's in the league are Eli Manning and Russell Wilson. Dak and Bortles are up there with 16 and 11 sacks they've taken this season. The Jags O-Line is pretty tough, but I think with Irving back, we'll bust through the walls.
3. Dak has to throw the ball to all of our WR options and they HAVE to catch it. If we're going to use three Tight Ends (TE's), then they better step it up! Rico Gathers, the former basketball player, had his first catch last week vs. Houston. If the ball is thrown your way, catch it! Cole Beasley only has 194 yards receiving and ZERO touchdowns. Get the ball to Beasley!!!
4. Take out the Jags three top WR's (Wide Receivers), Westbrook, Cole, and Moncrief. These guys have similar yards on this season, but Westbrook is your go big or go home kind of guy. I think our secondary can cover them, but with Bortles and T.Y. Yeldon being their entire run game, look for these three WR's to try to make big plays!
The Jags average 20.4 points per game, where the Cowboys have only average 16.6 points per game. Even then, Cowboys at home, injured Jags, and David Irving back... Jaguars 17 ~ Cowboys 21.

GO RANGERS!!!
What is Jon Daniels doing??? And why did we let Nolan Ryan leave us? It's been years, but I still feel like we had more production out of all of our players, especially pitchers, when he was here!
Daniels fired Jeff Banister, our Manager, whom I really liked. And is now in search of a new one. Joe Girardi, the ex-Yankees Manager is one of the ones being interviewed. I'm okay with this because of my love of NYC, and because he lead the team to one World Series Championship in 2009. But when you have a revolving door of Managers, when do the eyes turn to the GM?
I'm not losing sleep over this, but I'm sad we're not in the Postseason.
As the ALCS and NLCS plays out this week, I will be forced to cheer for a team. With all of the hype around the Milwaukee Brewers, and the fact that they haven't won a World Series, I think that's my pick! The underdog. I know nothing about them, except that they're from Wisconsin. But, I like cheese, so... Go Brewers! And as happy as I was for Houston Astros fans when they won the WS after Hurricane Harvey, as a Texas Rangers fan, I do not want them to win again. Great for Texas, not great if you're a Rangers fan, with ZERO World Series titles, and no hope of seeing the postseason any time soon. Am I crying? Only a little. Thankfully there's more to life than sports!
