Ryder Cup
This is it! The Olympics of golf! Except that now golf is in the Olympics. So, what I mean is... US golfers vs. the World! Our team this year includes every golfer you've ever cheered for! A lot of the same guys from 2016, when they won one of the best matches in the tournaments history!!

The schedule is below, know what the Cup is won as soon as the US or Europe gets to 14 1/2 points (out of 28 available points). You get points through various forms of match play, but basically, you have to win the hole. If it's a par 4 and the team from Europe shoots par and the team from the US birdies, we get 1 point. If both teams par, each team gets half of a point. And so on. To read more about the formats, check it out here.
In the history of the Ryder Cup, Phil Mickelson has played in 45 matches, Tiger has played in 33. It's crazy to know that both of these guys are playing again together this year. Tiger has made quite the comeback in 2018, and I'm sure after watching these guy play in 2016 as a Co-Captain, he wanted to work even harder to play again.

Every two years the Ryder Cup flips between the US and Europe. This year, it is in Paris, France (not Paris, Texas). I know, we should all be there!! What were we thinking? Well, if you don't have the money to go to France next week, you can start saving now for 2020 when the Ryder Cup is back on US soil in Wisconsin at Whistling Straights. Here's how to get tickets.#rydercup

GO Cowboys!!! 1-1 (wins ~ losses)
Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks (away team ~ home team)
Sunday, September 23 @ 3:25 PM CST on FOX
Did you see the first series of the game last week?? It was our best series of the year! Yes, we're only two games in.
Dak not only ran the ball (QB’s don't have to run, but if they can be mobile, use them!!!), He threw a 64 yard pass to Tavon Austin!! Touchdown!!! (Cowboys fans go wild)!!!!
I haven't talked about Tavon a lot, because he's one of six wide receivers. Now one of seven, with the acquisition of Brice Butler. We released him in the off season, but thought we'd need one more mid-tier WR's, so he's now a Cowboy again. We let Tyree Robinson, Safety, go in order to for Butler on the 53 man roster.
The rest of the game last week looked a lot like how we played in week 1. But Linehan proved he can execute a game plan for about 10-12 possessions with creativity!!! #progress
DEFENSE: Y'all… that's what I'm talking about!! Our D sacked Eli six times. 6!!! We know the Giants aren't good, but our secondary and DE’s were getting their jobs done in the back field so we could hold Eli in the pocket longer and get the sack. The one time Eli tried to run, he ran right into Jaylon Smith. It was such a great and clean hit, he got an award for it from the NFL. I bet the DE’s (Defensive Ends) and Secondary who are getting fined for their hits would like a reward too! It's tough out there with these new rules. But we agree #playersafety is important!
The Seattle Seahawks
Most people know their QB, Russell Wilson, because he's the guy who married Ciara.
Football Russell Wilson has not had a good start to the season. He got sacked six times in last week's game vs. Chicago. He's thrown for 524 yards, which is still higher than Dak, who has only thrown for 330 yards. Both QB's have struggled with the deep ball, but both QB's have the ability to run! The QB duel will be a fun one! Neither Offense is firing on all cylinders.
Which leads me to my main point for this week's game… Defense vs. Defense.
Seattle's D is ranked 21 in the league vs. the run and 18 in the league vs. the pass.
Seattle's D is ranked 21 in the league vs. the run and 18 in the league vs. the pass.
Dallas’ D is ranked 11th in the league vs. the run and 5th in the league vs. the pass.
Based on how well our D played last week, I believe we're able to keep Seattle off-balance for most of the game.
Earl Thomas, a Safety for the Seahawks, is the guy who found our head coach, Jason Garrett, after we played them last season and asked him to “come and get him.” Thomas is from Dallas and has always wanted to be a Cowboy. Seattle wanted too high of a draft pick for him, so Thomas thus remains a Seahawk. I'm sure he's going to play lights out against our WR corps.
The other main factor for this game will be the noise. Seattle had the loudest stadium in the NFL. When it's that loud, our Offense will have a hard time hearing each other and calling plays. So, they have to practice silent counts and things to make sure everyone knows what is going on, even if you can hear the QB yelling “Omaha!”
I feel like it will be a low scoring game, and potentially a messy one if there are turnovers.
Key players for Seattle that Dallas needs to shutdown:
Will Dissly, WR, 147 yards and 2 TD's this season
Russell Wilson, QB, 524 yards and 5 TD's this season
Bradley McDougald, Safety, 2 Interceptions
Cowboys 12 ~ Seattle 14

Thoughts...
Words are important and pretty powerful.
Pay attention to your words.
One of my sisters friends would listen to her talk or tell a story and then she would say, "Do you want me to agree with that?" And it made my sister think again about what she was saying. Most of the time, our answer to this friends question would be NO. I want you to tell me I shouldn't feel that way, or say that about myself, etc.
So, say things today that anyone around you could easily agree with! Then make sure you're speaking life giving words to everyone around you.
Life is so much shorter than we all think. Let's be intentional about encouraging others and not calling out things they probably already know they struggle with. People are hard enough on themselves! Let's liven this place up!
