Week 3: Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals ~ Texas Rangers keep winning ~ Green Smoothie

COWBOYS 1-1 (wins-losses)
Monday, September 25th
Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals (home team is second)
7:30 PM CST on ESPN

Yeah. We are no longer “undefeated.” I overreacted. Mark it down. I got excited. Now I'm eating humble pie, like the rest of you Cowboys fans. #CowboysNation

Denver shut us down. It was like Spud Webb going one on one vs. Shaq. And Spud could dunk!!

Have you ever heard the golf quote... "The most important shot is your next shot." My Dad mentions this to me quite often, as I shoot 4 over par. Don't worry, we're working on it.

As for the Dallas Cowboys, they get another shot. They have a long week to practice, since they don't play until Monday night. Any bad taste the have in their mouth from Denver needs to be shaken off and learned from quickly.

Arizona Cardinals... should we win this match-up? Yes.

~ They have the weapons to win. Kind of like the Cowboys do. Their WR's (wide receivers) Larry Fitzgerald, Jaron Brown, and J.J. Nelson have over 300 yards between the 3 of them. Nelson has 10 receptions on 13 targets and 163 yards. Do you hear that Dez?? That's a nice pass completion rating right there! 77% - but I'm sure someone will say... "Nelson has Palmer throwing to him." Who cares? Dez has been targeted 25 times, the most in the NFL this year. He has 9 receptions for 102 yards. He said his confident that his connection with Dak is getting better. Isn't that what the off-season is for? Step it up! And watch out for the Arizona secondary, they're not that bad!

***Did you see Jared Goff and Sammy Watkins Thursday night??? Second year QB, just like Dak. Veteran WR, just like Dez. Figure it out guys!!***

~ Arizona's D is ranked 18th in the league. Dallas' D (even with our injuries and suspensions) is ranked 14th in the league. The good news for Dallas is, Damontre Moore, one our suspended Defensive Ends, is back in action this week. As a former Aggie, he invested in his career by attending a camp Von Miller put on this past Summer. Let's hope that Moore can Von Miller the Cardinals like Von Miller, Von Millered the Cowboys last week! Put pressure on Palmer, cause turnovers, and score points. Sounds so simple.

~ You may remember a guy by the name of Kurt Warner. Most people associate him with the Arizona Cardinals. He played Quarterback for the Cardinals for his last 5 seasons in the league, 2005-2009. I'm pretty sure it was the 2009 season, where my middle sister took Kurt as her number one pick in our family fantasy football draft. This is only funny because he was not the best QB in the draft that year, she just liked him. We still give her a hard time about this first pick!! But she is right, he's a great guy!

~ The Cardinals current QB is Carson Palmer. Similar dude to Warner in size and stats. Warner went to 4 Pro Bowls, Palmer has been to 3. Palmer is in his 14th season in the NFL, Warner only played 12 seasons. Where Palmer would like to join Warner is in his Playoff appearances. Warner played in 13 Playoff games and Palmer has only played in 4. Warner also won a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams back in 1999, and was the MVP. The question is, even without Warner in the shadows... can Carson Palmer lead this team to the Playoffs for the first time since 2015? Probably not with the run game they have, but they will try!

~ Dak, the Dallas Cowboys QB (quarterback), says he's up for the challenge this week to get us back on track! Zeke quit last week, Dak looked off, and Jason Witten was the only guy catching passes and making plays. That's not enough to keep your Offense on the field and control the clock. You will lose every time if you're 3 and out over and over again. Like I said, Denver had our number. We need to bounce back!

Back to back games on the road for the Boys. I say we go 1-1 on the road. Cowboys win, 17-14.

GO RANGERS!!! 76-76
6th in the AL (American League)
2nd in the AL West (17 games behind the Houston Astros)
2.5 games out of the Wild Card

Oh, the emotional roller coaster! We win some, we lose some.

We are batting .500.

If we keep winning; we can win ourselves into the Wild Card game.

We are 2.5 games behind the Minnesota Twins. The Twins have been on a losing streak. They have lost 5 of their last 7 games. The Rangers have won 4 out of 6 games on the road against the Angels and Mariners.

The next three games are against the Oakland A's, in Oakland. We got swept by the A's back in August. Earlier in the year, we swept them here in Texas. So, we have a 50/50 chance of winning.

Home Runs... MLB has set a record for Home Runs this season!! If you like charts... here's a cool article. We didn't have any Rangers players make the list, but Joey Gallo has 38 Home Runs, tied for 5th in the league. He is also 4th in the league with Strikeouts, 183. Along with 2 other HR leaders. Go big or go home!

Here is the schedule for the rest of the year.

They released plans for the NEW stadium!! Check it out!

If you are looking for a way to get nutrition in your breakfast, but don't have time to eat breakfast, or are in a bad habit of grabbing carbs and running out the door... here is a smoothie for you! It takes some getting used to, I won't lie. I made it for my mom and dad and they quickly added pineapple juice and any fruit my mom could find. I think they still held their noses while drinking it. It is not for the faint of heart. But, it will help your heart stay healthy!

Dr. Wentz "Root Cause Green Smoothie"

~ 1 cup mix baby greens
~ cucumber
~ 2 large carrots (I use a handful of baby ones)
~ 1 ripe avocado (buy the bag from Costco)
~ 1 or 2 sticks of celery
~ 1 bunch of basil leaves (optional)
~ 1 cup coconut milk (I add coconut water too - buy from Costco - so much cheaper)
~ 1 scoop pea protein (I use TIU protein, it's one of the cleanest and worth the price)
~ sea salt
~ cinnamon (optional)
~ 1/2 apple (optional)
~ 1/2 frozen banana (optional) - (peal bananas, break in half, place in freezer bag and freezer - easy to have on hand for any smoothie)

If you have a blender or Vitamix... make sure to put your liquid in first, then I like to put the baby greens in and everything else stacked on top of that. It seems to blend better.

If you don't have a Vitamix... Black Friday/Cyber Monday is just around the corner. I purchased mine as a reconditioned 5300 from Williams Sonoma for less than $300, with free shipping! It's worth every penny!

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto. ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Week 2: New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ UNT beat Arkansas ~ Scooter Magruder

GO Cowboys!!! 0-1 (wins ~ losses) New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys ( away team ~ home team ) Sunday, September 16 @ 7:20 PM CST on NBC If you watched the game last week, where we lost to the Carolina Panthers, you have most likely decided to stop watching the rest of the season. It was a rough game. And it makes a lot of people think that first string players should get more reps during pre-season games so your Week 1 game isn't a scrimmage. So, during the " scrimmage ," that was a regular season game, Dak matched Cam Newton ( Carolina's QB ) in passing yards and was pretty close in accuracy. So where did Carolina win? Aside from wearing out our Defense... Newton had 13 carries for 58 rushing yards, allowing him to score one of their two TD's ( touchdowns ). Zeke ( our RB, running back ) had 15 carries for 69 rushing yards and one TD. Carolina out played us in the run game because they're not afraid to allow their QB to run. They converted more 1st ...
