NFL Draft ~ Texas Rangers ~ Football to Baseball ~ Toilets

GO RANGERS!!! 9-12
11th in the AL (American League)
3rd in the AL West

It has been a while since we've talked... how are y'all doing?

You know, sometimes life feels like it is flying by. Like everything is moving so fast and yet a day feels like a week. But, in it all, I am thankful for my family and friends!!

The Rangers!!!

It has been a crazy start to the season... here are a few things you should know...

1) I got to go to my first Rangers game on April 21st to celebrate my Aunt Kay's 60th birthday!! The rain held off and we got to see fireworks!! My favorite! And... my cousins bought the Texas Snowballs. Brisket, covered with funnel cake batter, powdered sugar and bbq sauce. It is heavy, but it was good (definitely not clean eating)! Section 141. The Rangers swept the Royals!! But are now having a tough time with the Minnesota Twins.

2) Adrian Beltre is still on the DL. What started as a 10 game stint on the DL, has turned into "he may return in May." His right calf is injured. I am praying it is not as serious as I feel it is starting to be. In the meantime, Joey Gallo is playing 3rd base. Dude is super young and quite inconsistent, but at the game Friday night, he hit two home runs. One was 462 feet and the other was 431 feet (according to ESPN). The guy has a great swing when he connects with the ball. Fast and far. He has 7 home runs on the season, tied for 2nd in HR's with 7 other guys. We'll see what happens when Beltre is healthy. I'm still team Beltre, but I like Home Runs too! (who doesn't

3) Josh Hamilton has officially been released by the Texas Rangers. If you didn't know he was still on the team, he was. He is having another knee surgery and it is not worth keeping him on our minor league team. Here is a great article about Hamilton... read on.

4) Pitching rotation? Darvish. Griffin. Perez. Hamels. Those are a few of your starters. What is a Starter? The Pitcher who starts the game. In order for a Starter to get credit for the Win or Loss, he has to complete 5 innings. Griffin went on the DL, but should be back soon, along with Ross.

Kela? Bush? Dyson? Who is our Closer? Ohhhh the Closer. This is the guy you want to bring in during the 8th or 9th inning and watch him strike 3 guys out... 1, 2, 3 strikes you're out at the old ball game!!!! Kela and Bush have 97+ MPH fastballs. Who has the most control? Who can command the fastball the best? That is for Jeff Banister, the Rangers GM, to figure out. And he will. We're only 21 games into a 162 game season. Relax Aaron Rodgers.

Random Info inside of the Baseball Section...

Tim Tebow has two home runs and a .218 batting average in Single A. Yes, Tim Tebow is playing baseball. Do players often switch from football to baseball and vice versa?

Here is a list of players that did (post 1940s)...

Brian Jordan
Carroll Hardy
Chad Hutchinson
Cliff Aberson
D.J. Dozier
Deion Sanders

We sat in section 123 on the back row. They were great seats!!

GO COWBOYS!!!
NFL DRAFT

First things first... there are rumors that the NFL Draft will be in DALLAS, TX next year! Did you read that correctly??? I no longer have to travel to go to the Draft!! I went 3 of the 4 years I lived in NYC. Some of the best memories I have!!

2017 NFL Draft... in Philly (womp, womp)

Round 1 - Thursday, April 27th - 7 PM CST
Round 2 & 3 - Friday, April 28th - 6 PM CST
Round 4-7 - Saturday, April 29th - 11 AM CST

Please set your DVR's and get excited!!! If you tailgate or throw a draft party... I fully support your efforts! Use this Draft Tracker, so you can follow on-the-go.

Here is the most comprehensive Draft Report I found for the Cowboys, read on. My apologies for not doing the research myself. I have a full-time job that is not in sports. I know, so sad.

But, what I know, and what you probably know as a Cowboys fan... we need a DEFENSE! If we get anyone on Thursday night with our 28th pick, it will need to be a Defense End or a Cornerback. If you don't recall, we let all of our secondary go in the offseason. So yeah, even the guys we had are all gone, not just injured.

The other big rumor is that we will get another Tight End. Proper backup for when Jason Witten retires ,like Romo did this year. Not sure a broadcasting job will be waiting for him, but I trust life will work out as it should!!

It seems Jerry and Stephen Jones are excited about our team this year. I've heard clips of them on our local radio stations. They were interviewed on The Fan and Jerry sounds like a little kid on Christmas morning. I'm just glad Stephen has been more involved in the Draft for the past 5+ years. The years I went to the draft, '06-'08 were rough.

DeMarcus Ware ~ Last and final note... this guy signed with the Cowboys for a day, so he could retire a Dallas Cowboy. What a cool story for this guy. Leaves the Cowboys, because we wouldn't re-sign him, goes to Denver, gets Peyton Manning as his QB in his second year there, wins a Super Bowl, plays one more season, and hangs up his helmet. Ending it all as a Dallas Cowboy. High five to you, Sir! Glad to have you back, even for a day.

Here is the press conference for the retirement and the excitement Jerry shows for our 2017-2018 season. Watch

GO COWBOYS!!

Here is the new schedule for next season... We open the season vs. the New York Giants, in Dallas. And 3 out of our 4 last games are on the road... saddle up!! It's going to be a long season!

Random Info:
The toilet.

I want to encourage you to clean your toilet more often.

Be thankful for the luxury of even having one.

For those of you who have help cleaning your home, that is wonderful, this is done for you.

For those who have to do this themselves, it should be a priority, as gross as it is.

I'm not saying it needs to be immaculate, but it does need to be clean.

What if you have unexpected guests, or expected guests?
What if you get sick and you find yourself uncomfortably near the thing?

What about small, messy children, fine... make it a goal to clean it once a week.

If it's porcelain, it should look like porcelain.

Just sayin'.

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Week 11: Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ Mavs ~ Gift Guide for Black Friday

GO COWBOYS!!! 8-1 1st in the NFL (I've died and gone to Heaven) 1st in the NFC EAST Sunday, November 20th Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys  (home team is second) 12:00 PM CST on CBS First things first... the Cowboys are playing amazing football right now! Even sportscasters who don't like the Cowboys can't stop talking about them.  I mentioned last week that we are the most balanced team in the league. When your Offense and Defense share an even amount of time on the field, it is easier to stay fresh and productive. If you leave your D out there too long, they're bound to make mistakes. So even with our Offense being as productive as they are, they are still staying on the field long enough to keep it balanced.  The Cowboys have a total of 219 first downs this season and lead the league at Offensive time of possession, 33:39 minutes ( an NFL football game is made up of 4 quarters, 15 minutes each, a total of 60 minutes ).  ...

POSTSEASON BASEBALL: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers ~ Baseball Etiquette ~ Dallas Cowboys Over-reaction Tuesday

GO RANGERS !!! ALDS PLAYOFFS - THIS THURSDAY It's official... we are playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS.  Dang it.  I can't stand the Blue Jays. They have trashy fans. No, literally, they throw trash on the field .  And Jose Bautista is a punk. No one needs your bat flippin' drama!  And we all remember this... Odor punching Bautista earlier this year. Watch . All the sports people are going to have a field day over this. I bet they wish they had given us the evening time slots now! Except that Toronto's TV ratings don't count, eh?  How we win... stay focused. Eliminate the drama. We beat them during the regular season. We can do it again. No hitting batters, no one getting ejected. We need our entire roster in the ALCS. We need to play Texas Ranger baseball. Period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Games 1 and 2 are this Thursday at 3:30 PM and Friday at Noon in Arlington, TX. Games 3 and 4 are Sunday and Monday in Toronto. ...
