Week 12: Carolina Panthers vs. Dallas Cowboys ~ Dallas Mavericks ~ Thanksgiving

GO COWBOYS!!! 3-7 (wins - losses)

Thanksgiving Day, November 26th
Carolina Panthers vs. Dallas Cowboys (home team is second)
3:30 PM CST on CBS

Y'all... everyone just plays harder when Romo is on the field...

We finally won a game last week against the 4-6 Miami Dolphins! Rolando McClain even got a pick 6!! A PICK 6! The first of his career!! (A Pick 6 is when a defender intercepts or recovers a fumble and scores 6 points for the Touchdown on the same play... pick up the ball and score 6... Pick 6).

***If you don't remember seeing much of McClain this year, it is because he was suspended for 4 games at the beginning of the season for substance abuse. We are glad you're healthy and back in action McClain!***

This week is a short week. We played on Sunday, on the road, in Miami, and now come home and prepare for the Panthers in just 3 days! Normally, they play on Sunday, have Monday off and get back to work on Tuesday or full practices on Wednesday. Not this week, it's crunch time! (after this game we get 10 days before we play the Redskins... woohoo

The Panthers... they're 10-0 (wins - losses), yes, that is undefeated

We have their old teammate, Greg Hardy. He's been in the headlines lately. I'm staying away from this topic, but his old teammates seem to miss him.

The Panthers QB is Cam Newton. Dude is big. He's mobile and isn't afraid to take a hit. He hasn't lead his team to a championship yet... but he has the ability to!!

RB, Jonathan Stewart and WR, Funchess are going to be the focus for our Dallas Defense! Newton likes to throw the deep ball to Funchess... and Steward has gotten stronger over the past few weeks!

Bottom Line... Dallas is 1-4 at Home. We are in a must win situation for the rest of the season. Romo hit Williams and Witten consistently last week! If Dez can get going this week, we're in a good place Offensively! Oh and if McFadden can play like he did last week, with over 120 rushing yards... game on!! Now, our D has the big challenge... the Panthers average over 360 yards a game... and are 10-0 for a reason! Makes me nervous, but with Romo behind center... I think we can get it done! 26-23

Injuries... Morris Claiborne. I'm glad this list is getting shorter.

Fantasy Football... Throw Terrance Williams in the mix this week! And Jonathan Stewart if you have him! Just sayin' :)

GO MAVS!!! 9-6

So, our 6 game win streak ended with a loss to OKC Sunday night and another loss to Memphis tonight.

We barely lost both games, and to be honest, our offense was just off both games. Turnovers, lower shooting percentage from everyone, and missing 3 pointers! Can't win like that!

We're still waiting for Chandler Parsons to be fully available. Dirk has been Dirk and of course we're all enjoying Williams and Pachulia!

Keep watching and go to a game!! It's a fun thing to do over the holidays, while everyone is in town!!

Random Info:
Thursday is Thanksgiving.

Yes, I'm sure watching football will be in the forecast, as it should be. A little rain too, for most parts of the South.

But please make time to spend with friends and family! Or, caring for those around you.

We are not guaranteed tomorrow, and truly must make the most of every opportunity to hug those around us and tell them we love them!

I hope you have a wonderful time cooking, laughing and finding joy in all of the small tasks that come with this week! I know it's a lot of work, but... it's worth it!! HAVE FUN!!

Play dominoes or board games... or spades!! Yahtzee!!! ha! Get crazy and get outside!!

Oh and please shop online for Black Friday... it's not worth getting trampled in stores to buy stuff you probably don't need in the first place.

~smile~

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
