Week 11: Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins ~ Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors ~ Jimmy Fallon, J Crew, OSU

GO COWBOYS!!! 2-7 (wins - losses)

Sunday, November 22nd
Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins (home team is second)
12:00 PM CST on FOX

Tony Romo... Welcome Back. The names may not have all changed, but we're still glad to have you! Oh wait, our RB's names have all changed...

***I'll let Mase sing to you (let the song play while you read...)***

Romo's status has officially been changed from Out/Probable/Questionable to ACTIVE!!! If you're a Fantasy Football player... you like it when the IR, O, Q and P leave your status updates, which hasn't happened much this season.

What are our odds vs. Miami?

Well, on Defense, Morris Claiborne is out, but we have Sean Lee back. And Byron Jones, secondary phoneme, is going to help out where Claiborne left off. He will most likely be covering Rishard Matthews, the Dolphins leading WR, who has 42 receptions, over 600 receiving yards and 4 TD's. We believe in you kid! You got this!

Ryan Tannehill, the Miami QB, and an A&M alumni, has had a decent season! He had the best game of his life against the Houston Texans in Week 6, but has sense declined a bit. His passer rating in that game was 94.7%!! But, his average for the season is 63.5%, so he is beatable. New England and Buffalo proved that. As much as my Aggie friends will want to cheer for him, I hope their allegiances stay with the Cowboys and the Romo miracle come-back we're hoping for!

So, we all know that Dez wants the ball thrown to him. If you've ever watched a game and seen him on the sideline saying "I want the ball" - you're aware of this scenario!

Romo does a great job getting the ball to Dez, Witten, Williams and whichever RB has won the job for that play. However, we are expecting a few glitches with the fact that he's been out for 7 games. #reality

Best part... get us close Romo and we will use Dan Bailey! He missed his FIRST kick last week. Heartbreaking. But he's still the best kicker to ever play the game! Nice to know we have one thing up on everyone else! Tom Brady who? (ha

Bottom Line... I believe Romo is healthy, that our O-Line will go to bat for him and rally around him! Miami has at least one starting Linebacker out on their Defense, possibly two, so that is a huge advantage for Romo and our O-Line! Our Defense is ready to fight and take down the Miami offense, or at least slow them down and allow us to take the lead and own the clock! If we go in at the half with the lead, we will win. Oh, and we must win. I know our division stinks, but we almost have to go 7-0 in the back-half of the season to have a shot at the playoffs!

Injuries... Sean Lee is back on Defense, but Morris Claiborne is out. Darren McFadden is probable with his groin injury.

Fantasy Football... I quit. Ha! Unless Romo revives my team! Dez hasn't done much since being back, and I was only able to pick up a few WR2 options along the way. 12 man leagues are hard. ha! I like 10. 10 is perfect for FF! Enjoy your week! I hope you win!!

GO MAVS!!! 9-4

Mavs win 6 in a row!!!

You know what I like about our Dallas teams... they have fun! I know a lot of teams do. And when you win it's fun. But winning as a Yankee is different than winning as a Texas Ranger (yes, I know they have 27 WS titles). Winning as a Laker is different than winning as a Maverick. It's gritty! Back yard type ball with your boys.

The players have fun and Carlisle keeps the fundamentals a focus. This is a great article about Zaza Pachulia and Deron Williams from the game Friday night vs. the Utah Jazz! Read onThese are the two guys we picked up after the DeAndre Jordan trade fell through... we'll take them!

I've explained basketball, and baseball, as a bit of a warm-up in the first half of the season, then people get serious after the All-Star break in February. Well, the Golden State Warriors aren't "warming up" - they came to play!! Those dudes are earning (proving) their championship title from 2014 game by game by game! They are the best right now!

You see, Stephen Curry, the playmaker point guard for the Warriors played at Davidson University. He single handedly helped that team make it into the Final Four in 2009, and has since danced his way into the MVP circle in the NBA. He is surrounded by talent in Oakland and they seem unstoppable! Friday night, they beat the Chicago Bulls to go 14-0. The last time the Mavs won 14 in a row to start their season was in 2002, under Don Nelson. That year, we made it to the Western Conference Finals and were defeated by the San Antonio Spurs.

All this is to say... the Warriors have lit a fire under every team in the league! No one is sitting around waiting for the All-Star game! They are firing head coaches in Houston and trying to figure out how to win with Kobe.

It will be a fun year in basketball!!

Random Info:
If you missed Jimmy Fallon and the Pocket Dial he created with J. Crew... you have to check it out! I don't have an iPhone, but I still love the concept!! For dudes. Ha!

You have to watch the full video... it's hilarious!!! ha!

He also mentioned it on his show... watch.

I hope you laughed... at least a little!

Oh and there are some serious college football games on today!!! Rest up and watch Baylor vs. OSU in Stillwater and TCU vs. OU in Norman tonight!!! One of the biggest nights in sports for Oklahoma in a while!!

The Big 12 is known/criticized for their lack of Defense... we'll see what the final scores of these games are and see who sneaks their way into the Final Four Playoff spots!

I am going Oklahoma State and TCU! That way OSU will move up! No, I didn't go there, but my Oklahoma relatives did and I love them! So, Go Pokes!! :)

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
