Dallas Cowboys Week 16 ~ Mavs get Rondo ~ Meaning of Christmas

GO COWBOYS!!! 10-4

WEEK 16 - Indianapolis Colts vs Dallas Cowboys
(remember, the second team is at HOME)
Game Time: Sunday, December 21st @ 3:25 PM (CST)

I called it last week... we are solely FIRST in the NFC EAST!!! We beat the Eagles in Philly. Nothing makes me happier!! :)

Your Dallas Cowboys are now 7-0 on the road (any game not played at home is "on the road" - just making sure we're on the same page here). Our home game record is 3-4. This game is our LAST regular season home game of the season.

The Colts are also 10-4 this season. They've already clinched the the AFC South Title when they beat Houston last week. They've made the playoffs and are working their way into a bye week situation.

Andrew Luck, QB from Stanford, took over in Indy for Peyton Manning three years ago. Most everyone in the NFL and outside the NFL agrees, this dude is very smart. He seems just as disciplined and strategic as Peyton was in Indy, which is very unlikely to get two QB's back to back that can perform to the caliber they do. Luck leads the NFL with 4,492 yards and 38 touchdowns. Impressive.

Trent Richardson is their Running Back and TY Hilton is their star Receiver. Good news for Cowboys fans... Hilton is banged up with a hamstring injury, but we're not without issues of our own.

I interrupt this blog to bring you the Dallas Cowboys Injury Report...

DeMarco Murray, our STAR Running Back, had surgery on his left hand Monday. Unless you live under a rock, you probably already knew that. He practiced Wednesday and Thursday. The Colts Defense has given up the 8th most points to Running Backs this season. We NEED Murray to play!!

Doug Free and Zach Martin are both injured, limited in practice, but are expected to play. These are two of our Offensive Lineman that have helped build a stonewall for Romo to dance behind for 15 games this season. 8 seconds... Cowboy Up.

Bottom Line: With everyone worrying about Murray's hand, Romo, Dez and the boys have had some time away from the media and questioning about their first match up vs Luck. The past few weeks, Romo has gotten Dez involved early... keep it up, Witten, Williams and Beasley are there if you need them. Feed the Horse. The Colts are a well prepared team under Coach Pagano, but if we can play with the intelligence and intensity we did against the Eagles last week... I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN!

GO MAVS!!! 19-8

Y'all... we just got Rajon Rondo!!!! Do you know who he is?!?!? One of the original Boston Boys who helped their team win the National Championship game in 2008.

**You know what this takes me back to... ahhh yes, my favorite performance by Justin Timerlake... his monologue and his song from the 2008 ESPYs. Towards the end of the song, he talks about Rondo!**

Okay, okay... so in all seriousness... the MAVS are now unstoppable!!! We have a new Point Guard in Rondo. We have Dirk, Tyson Chandler, Chandler Parsons (remember, it's the year of the Chandler's) and Monta Ellis!!! Whhhaaattt??

Football and Basketball are totally making up for how pathetic the Texas Rangers seasons was this past year! GAME ON!

The Mavs play the San Antonio Spurs (17-9) this Saturday! They are our #1 rival. Game is at the AAC at 7:30 PM!!

Random Info:
We are exactly one week away from Christmas!!!

I know here in America, it is mostly about what we can give and get. We tend to have an "all about us" mentality. What do I get out of this? How does this affect me

But, as I get older, and all those things our parents told us growing up start coming to fruition... I realize it has nothing to do with gifts or being selfish. We should give gifts all year round, if we want to make someone feel special or tell them how much we love them and they mean to us, do it on a Tuesday in June.

We should notice people in need all year round, instead of just when the food banks need shelves stocked, and the cold weather reminds us people are homeless.

This Christmas, or tomorrow, start looking around... seeing people and meeting them where they're at. There is no them and us. We are all God's children. Every one of us. We all bring value to this world and have gifts that no one else has. Let's love and encourage one another in whatever it is that we do.

If someone doesn't have a place to go on Christmas day, invite them to your home... "the more the merrier!"

There's no "getting through" the holidays. I know this may be a sad time for some, but there is HOPE! I assure you of that!! :)

I pray you and your family have a wonderful Christmas! May you always know the love of God and the purpose He has for your life!!

John 3:16-17 ~ For God So Loved The World

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him."

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
