Mavs ~ Rangers ~ Stars ~ Cowboys

April 23, 2014 - TEXAS SWEEP!!!

Mavs beat the San Antonio Spurs 113-92... Tied in the Playoffs 1-1

Rangers beat the Oakland Athletics 3-0... Pérez throws 2nd shutout

Stars beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-2... Tied in the Playoffs 2-2

GO MAVS!!!

PLAYOFFS: Dallas Mavericks vs. San Antonio Spurs... Tied 1-1

~ The Spurs have a history of beating us... badly! (Mavs had lost 10 games in a row to the Spurs; 5 consecutive Playoff Games.) They beat everyone badly, you just don't hear about them on Sports Center. And they have the "Coach of the Year" in Greg Popovich! Even with Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili (aka: Giwoboly - he flops too much) and Tony Parker... the Mavs railroaded them in Game 2!

~ What the Mavs need to do to win out? Play 110%! Every guy on our team has an important role and when they execute like they did in Game 2 - we are unstoppable! The crazy thing was, Dirk wasn't even hitting his shots in the 4th Qtr! Every one else just stepped up! #MustWin

GO RANGERS!!!

What a start to the Year! Everyone doubted us and look where' we're at... sitting' pretty at 14-8!!! The Rangers are LEADING the American League!

~ Pitching... dang y'all! We knew Yu Darvish was an Ace, but not too many sports casters were talking up MartĂn PĂ©rez. He threw two shutouts, back-to-back! (Shutout: the other team did not score any runs... zero!) He hasn't allowed any runs in his last three starts and has a 1.42 ERA. (ERA - remember, this is Earned Runs Average by the opposing team. The more a team scores against a pitcher, the higher the number... the less a team scores against a pitcher, the lower the number... LOWER IS BETTER, like in golf!) Basically, we started the season with a crazy number of pithcers on the DL, and they're slowly coming back into the rotation. Good times ahead! (Matty H is back Sunday vs. Seattle)

~ Injured... Kevin Kouzmanoff, who has been batting .362 the past two weeks, has a back injury... TBD. Shin-Shoo Choo, our lead off batter and out fielder has an ankle injury that is day to day. Good news... Third Baseman, Adrian Beltre, is back in the line up Friday!!

We're facing round two of playing the Seattle Mariners...  we won the first series 3-1... we got this! :)

GO STARS!!!

PLAYOFFS: Dallas Stars vs. Anaheim Ducks... tied 2-2

~ Y'all know I'm not a huge hockey fan... I grew up in 100 degree weather and in roller skates, not ice skates. However, I do remember Eddie Belfour, Derian Hatcher, Mike Madono, Brett Hull and other guys that won a Stanley Cup years ago!

Watch this video to catch up on the series and how well the Stars are playing!

GO COWBOYS!!!

The Cowboys are a mess. Here's a quick video about our QB situation. The Cowboys signed Caleb Hanie today and had already signed Brandon Weeden.

~ The NFL draft starts on May 8th! Let's just say - the Cowboys have a LOT of work to do before then. We all know Jerry Jones would love to weasel his way in and get Johnny Manziel; however, does one team really need 5 QB's when we don't even have a Defensive Line?

FYI: The Cowboys 2014 Schedule was released yesterday! Start blocking off your calendars! (Tip: you can export the schedule for all sporting events from ESPN calendars to your iPhone, Android, etc. #brilliant

Random Info:
I've officially lost control of my passwords. You're not supposed to write them down, but I'm required to change them every 6 months and you can't use the past three passwords. Then, you have to add a character, %#@^$, that makes you feel like you're typing curse words, all to avoid a bored 15 year old from decrypting your "safety" code to your iTunes account. #overit

Why can't hackers just agree not to hack? Or burglars agree not to bugler? No passwords, no keys. Utopia. Actually, there's a much longer list for that!

Have you seen Draft Day? I haven't yet, but plan on it ASAP!

Pics from my first Rangers Game of the season... it was freezing!

Hug someone :)

Dirk Nowitzki ~ Dallas Cowboys Free Agency ~ Texas Rangers ~ Selection Sunday ~ Loveland, CO

GO MAVS!!! 27-36  (wins - losses) Dirk, Dirk, he's our man... if he can't do it... no one can!!!  Well, only 5 other guys can and have.  Dirk is now 6th on the all time list of NBA players to score 30,000 points . This is a crazy accomplishment. He's played over 1,300 games in his 19 year career with the Dallas Mavericks.  His commitment to this team and to our city has been life changing for many. He does a lot in our community through the Dirk's Heroes Foundation . Fundraising and giving grants to non-profits in our community and around the world that are making an impact in the lives of children and families in need.  Back in the day, the Mavs games were fun to watch with the " Three J's " - but we didn't win a lot, and we never thought we would make it to the playoffs consistently, much less to the NBA Finals. ( Three J's: Jimmy Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Jason Kidd - here's a funn...

Over-reaction Monday Week 8

GO COWBOYS!!! Cowboys lose to the Detroit Lions... 30-31 This game was a bit crazy. If you ever wanted to know about football, all it entails and how crazy people are for watching it and loving it... this a great game to watch!  Bottom line...  ~ Detroit Defense - they did a great job stopping our offense. Passing and running. They held Tony Romo (our QB) to 206 yards, which 110 of those were on 2 TD passes. And they held Joseph Randal (our RB) to 14 carries for 26 yards. ( aka... not good ) Ndamukong Suh - Defensive Tackle for the Lions, is a crazy man. Literally. He had his D ready today.  ~ Matthew Stafford - Detroit's QB that is from Highland Park, played for UGA. He played well... The kid threw for 488 yards and had a very sneaky TD at the end of the game to win it for the Lions. Detroit's Offense completed 29 1st downs vs. Dallas' 13 1st downs. ( there are 4 downs in football... which means you have 4 chances to get the ball 10 yards, running or ...

Over-reaction Monday Week 9 ~ MAVS

GO COWBOYS!!! Dallas beat the Minnesota Vikings 23-27! Yaya! We are now 5-4 (Wins -Losses) ! Whew. If you've watched most of the games this season, or any season - you'll know that almost all of them come down to the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. That's just part of sports.  Here are the few "over-reaction" stats you'll need for tomorrow...  ~ Adrian Peterson ( Vikings RB ) - He did what he always does. Run over the defense. He is from TX and had over 80+ fans at the game cheering for him. He also lost his son a few weeks ago to a tragic accident. He looked like he was playing with more heart today than in the past few weeks, but our D held them overall. He did have a spectacular TD run... he is an amazing athlete!  ~ Tony Romo (our QB) - threw the ball 51 times. That is a lot! He only completed 34 of those passes. What does that mean? Well, it means he did well with what he has. He spread the ball between all WR ( Wide Receiver ) options, had ...
