Week 14: Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears ~ Luka and Mavs beat Lakers and LeBron ~ Rakuten and Honey
GO COWBOYS!!! 6-6 (wins-losses)
Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears (away vs. home)
Thursday, December 5th @ 7:20 PM CST
One word. Beasley.
Y'all, I forgot Cole Beasley went to the Buffalo Bills after he left the Cowboys. He destroyed us last week. I forgot how fast he is and how much fun it was to watch him play, when he was on our team. However, I did not have fun watching him play last week, nor any part of the 26-15 Thanksgiving Day loss.
Three questions the Cowboys are asking themselves this week...
1) What will our coaching options be, at the end of the season. Jerry verbally committed to Jason Garrett through the end of the year, but it's not looking good for Garrett in 2020.
2) CAN WE GET DAN BAILEY BACK? This was our kicker, that we got rid of for Brett Maher. Just because Bailey had an injury and wanted more money, I don't think we should have been so quick to get rid of him. We need better than 67.9% accuracy and we were spoiled with Bailey. He plays for the Minnesota Vikings now and is 88.2% accurate this season.
3) Did the Miami Dolphins really beat the Eagles? Yes, yes they did. Dallas is still first in the NFC East, while the Eagles fell to 5-7.
Y'all, I think the Dolphins are the smartest team in the league. The played dead for the first few games, to secure last, or close to last place in the league and get the draft pics they wanted. However, halfway through the season, they started playing well enough to lose by small margins or even win a few games. All of this makes them look even more enticing to new recruits for next year. And, you have Fitzpatrick's beard, that will welcome anyone with a grizzly hug.
Trick play of the century. Watch this. #trickplay #miamidolphins
Dallas vs. Chicago, in Chicago
Da Bears. Also a 6-6 team, with quite a few issues of their own, and few hopes of making it into the playoffs.
They've had a season full of QB woes, with Mitch Trubisky as their starter, and have taken a lot of heat for choosing him as the second pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
He finally had a good game vs. the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving and walked away with a victory.
He threw for 338 yards and 3 TD's (touchdowns). He spread the love between his RB, Montgomery, and two of his WR's Horsted and Robinson II. Now, Anthony Miller is their top WR... so they have a decent receiving corps, if Trubisky can get them the ball.
Dallas' task list...
No mistakes.
No penalties.
Must make field goals.
Must convert on 3rd down.
Must go for it on 4th down, if it make sense, not just because we did or didn't last week.
Secondary better hang with the WR's I mentioned above.
Zeke has to run for more than 90 yards.
We need another TD from Witten and one from Gallup.
Injury Report. I'll keep checking this daily, but as of now, Cooper is supposed to play.
Assuming Cooper plays Thursday, Bears safety, Eddie Jackson told The Chicago Suntimes that he's ready for him. Read on. #rolltide
What will happen Thursday?
It will be cold at Soldier Field, 30-40 degrees, but no precipitation, as of now. Hopefully Dak has winter gloves, like the golf winter gloves that have been a life saver for me a few times. But I must say, I love outdoor sports. All of this indoor stuff seems cheesy after watching the Baltimore and Green Bay games Sunday. So fun seeing snow and rain and these guys playing like you would in your backyard. Ah, the good old days.
I believe the Cowboys will win, but only by a field goal. And yes, I'm being too positive still. I know, I know.
Only four games left in the season... tears.

Since he already has a team, the Cowboys are hosting a workout for new kickers. 3) Did the Miami Dolphins really beat the Eagles? Yes, yes they did. Dallas is still first in the NFC East, while the Eagles fell to 5-7.

GO COWBOYS!
Cowboys 17 ~ Bears 14
GO MAVS!!! 10-5 (wins ~ losses)
Watching the Mavs beat the Lakers on Sunday, thus breaking their ten game win streak, was incredibly fun. Especially during the third period when the Mavs scored 17 unanswered points.
Luka didn't have a great first half, but our bench had his back. Justin Jackson scored 15 points and Delon Wright scored 17 points. Wright also had 9 assists and 5 rebounds. Watching these guys come off the bench and drain a three point shot is amazing. Jackson went 3-5 and Wright went 3-6.
Powell and Porzingis both scored 15 points each, while bringing in 15 rebounds combined. Between their rebounds and Luka's, the Defense is what helped us get the lead in the second half and go up by 19 points in the fourth period.
Luka, of course, almost had a triple double, 27 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds. His step-back three over LeBron was beautiful. Also, this Luka dunk may have been my favorite moment, it's like the Lakers just stepped back and admired his speed.
Don't look now, but we're 9th in the NBA (out of 30 teams). Since beating the Lakers, they dropped to a tie for first with the Milwaukee Bucks, while we're tied with the Houston Rockets, ahem... that we beat a week ago.
I try not to get my hopes up, but with the Cowboys playing the way they are and it being off-season for the Rangers... I have to be hopeful!
p.s. the Rangers signed a new pitcher, Kyle Gibson. Do we think we'll get Anthony Rendon?
Back to the Mavs...
According to @MavsPR on Twitter... the last time the Mavs ended a teams win streak was in the 2010-2011 season when they ended the Miami Heat's 12 game win streak on 12/20/2010.
You do remember what happened that year? If not, here's Dirk, at the Mavs vs. Lakers game to remind you. He just started attending games, as a non-player, and @tim_cato tweeted that the Mavs are undefeated and win by an average of 26 points when Dirk is in the building this year.
This is not hard.
Dirk,
Please come to more games.
Sincerely,
Every MFFL
